In a slight shift of trajectory, President-Elect Donald Trump said in a brief interview that he would release more details about alleged Russian hacking of the elections. The reality is that no entity could hack the election systems of 50 States, DC, and Territories and affect the election. The release of hacked information could conceivably influence the election. Good journalism could have had the same effect.

Donald Trump rang in the new year by promising to disclose unknown details regarding the alleged Russian hacking that meddled in the presidential election — and announced his resolution for 2017 is to “Make America great again.”
Trump’s comments on the hacking were in response to a question from a reporter on whether he believes intelligence analyses stating the Russians were behind the election interference.
“I just want them to be sure, because it’s a pretty serious charge, and I want them to be sure. And if you look at the weapons of mass destruction, that was a disaster, and they were wrong. And so I want them to be sure,” Trump said, denegrating intelligence analysts for getting their assessment of Iraq’s arsenal wrong in the lead up to the 2003 intervention…..
