Rep. Louie Gohmert has noted that what Hillary Clinton just did is illegal. When you are under investigation by the Department of Justice, headed by Attorney General Loretta Lynch, it sounds like a quid pro quo to offer to let her keep her job as Attorney Journal if you are elected. That did not look good for Lynch or Clinton. That move stinks to high heaven, whoever did it. Will heads roll? Not likely.
As Written By Rebecca Savransky for The Hill:
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) on Monday said it is illegal for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to indicate she wants Attorney General Loretta Lynch to remain in the position if she becomes president.
“Friends close to Hillary Clinton say she wants Loretta Lynch to stay on as attorney general,” Gohmert, who is supporting Republican nominee Donald Trump, said during an interview on “Fox and Friends.”
“If Hillary even indirectly indicates that she would want her to stay on as attorney general, it’s a crime.”
Lynch came under fire in June after she met with former President Bill Clinton, a meeting that fueled criticism of the Justice Department’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of State.
The meeting stirred speculation about what might have been discussed by the former president and the nation’s top law enforcement officer.
Trump in July accused Clinton of tying to bribe the attorney general by claiming Clinton had announced she would keep Lynch in the position if she was elected to the White House.
