Gov. Christie’s campaign finance co-chair calls on donors to reject Trump

Not everyone believes that Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie’s endorsement was totally on the up and up and one person is speaking out about it with MSNBC. Meg Whitman who assisted as co-chair for Governor Christie’s presidential campaign says that is nothing more than political opportunism. Isn’t that the motivation behind anyone in the government publicly endorses a potential president? Here’s what she had to say.

As Written By Chuck Todd & Shawna T. Thomas, MSNBC:

Meg Whitman, who had a role on Chris Christie’s national finance team, called his endorsement of Donald Trump “an astonishing display of political opportunism.”

Here’s her full statement:

“Chris Christie’s endorsement of Donald Trump is an astonishing display of political opportunism. Donald Trump is unfit to be President. He is a dishonest demagogue who plays to our worst fears. Trump would take America on a dangerous journey. Christie knows all that and indicated as much many times publicly. The Governor is mistaken if he believes he can now count on my support, and I call on Christie’s donors and supporters to reject the Governor and Donald Trump outright. I believe they will. For some of us, principle and country still matter.” – Meg Whitman
