The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has succeeded in conquering enough land on both sides of the Iraqi/Syrian border to open “floodgates for weapons and fighters between Syria and Iraq.”

CNN reports that in addition to conquered land, ISIS has also taken “over six Syrian oil and gas fields and a major pumping station that distributes oil from Iraq into Syria.”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) says the land controlled by ISIS “now stretches from Syria’s Deir Ezzor province to the group’s recently gained territories in Iraq’s Sunni heartland.”

And as ISIS wins they are demanding complete allegiance from those they conquer.
