Fugitive Found in California 37 Years After Escape

Wow. Talk about your past catching up with you.
Check it out:

A woman who escaped from a Michigan prison nearly 37 years ago was captured in San Diego, where she was living under an alias, authorities said Tuesday.

San Diego police Lt. Kevin Mayer said Judy Lynn Hayman, 60, was being held in a San Diego County jail Tuesday awaiting extradition to Michigan. He didn’t know if she’d retained an attorney, and no court date has been set.

Acting on a tip from the Michigan Department of Corrections, San Diego officers went to an apartment in the city’s Hillcrest neighborhood Monday afternoon and a woman fitting Hayman’s description answered the door.

Police said Hayman initially claimed to be someone else and produced documents with an alias. According to Mayer, her 32-year-old son was visiting when police arrived and appeared “quite surprised” by the revelations, MyFoxSanDiego.com and Fox17Online.com reported.
