Illegal Immigrant Wins Grammy

Being an illegal means nothing anymore. You probably have more rights as an illegal than if you were a citizen.
Check it out:

On Sunday, La Santa Cecilia, a so-called “crossover” rock band whose accordion player is an illegal immigrant, won a Grammy for their Treinta Dias album in the “Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album” category.

Jose “Pepe” Carlos, the accordion player, is a “DREAMer.” He was brought to the United States when he was six by his parents when they came into the country illegally.

The group formed in 2005 by lead singer Marisol Hernandez and Miguel Ramirez to “blend ethnicities and identities uniquely forged in multicultural Los Angeles,” and has used pop culture to push for comprehensive immigration reform, even writing a song against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
