The Constitution of course makes this quite clear of what gets paid. Raising little boy barry’s spending allowance is not one of the things that the founding fathers put in.

    • regulus30

NO BUDGET from these lib/progressives in [5] years; that is also unconstitutional.

      • jong

Yep the only part of a branch to really give one has been the Republican House. Hairy and Obama are in clear violation.

      • regulus30

obama has actually submitted budgets and they get NO VOTES; REID IS THE PIMP who is violating his oath .

      • jong

To be honest with you I read one of those “budgets” just out of curiousity. I have seen second graders with a better sense of economics. You are right literally but, they were never meant to go anywhere.

  • navigato

Borrowing more money does not increase debt!?! Evidently Obama should have majored in economics instead of law – although his grasp of law doesn’t seem too firm either.

    • Ed Shick

His Pay should come from the Russian Communist party !!

  • regulus30

and maxing out your credit card does not raise your debt either;; what an idiot.,see what a ghetto rat thinks, plenty more where that white man’s cash came from.

  • GFWSR

Obama: ‘Raising the Debt Ceiling…Does Not Increase Our Debt.’

    Typical liberal thinking or lying?

  • Jack Laurie

Odumbo the Idiot Clown is beginning to believe his own lies!

    • patriotforrevo

HE’S A NARCISSIST of the worst kind!!!

  • Bulldog74

That’s a good one, I think I’ll try that with my bank — “C’mon, you can raise my credit limit, it wont increase my debt, the President said so!”

  • Jim480

If it means that we will not incur more debt, then why exactly does the “debt ceiling” need to be raised? Just pay the bills without raising the ceiling. .Oh… we need to raise the amount that we can “borrow”. So borrowing more money does not increase our debt? Wow, exactly where can I get such an arrangement; “credit/debt” card?

His statement is reason enough to impeach this criminally minded, narcissistic, pathological lying fool.

  • 83footsailor

OBONZO – the magnificent – seems to think – like most LIBERAL DEMOCRATS – that money grows on trees and that there is no end to the money supply.
    Sorry OLE BEAN – - – OBONZO – the anointed one – - – - money doesn’t grow on trees . !!!!!!!!!!

    • patriotforrevo

But his “wife” for lack of a better word, does live in a tree!

    • 7PastorCarmine7

Yet O does not plant more of those money trees!

  • patriotforrevo

“the average person” mistakenly thinks that raising the debt ceiling means the U.S. is racking up more debt

This average person THINKS YOU NEED TO LEAVE OFFICE NOW! PERIOD!!!

  • Ed Shick

Never trust a Liar,, It’s best to avoid them ,, This Russian trained Communist is working for our enemy Big Time ,, It is called Treason and the penalty is not nice ,, But the Good people will have guns!!!

  • Douglas W. Rodrigues

I believe that Barack Obama is incapable of telling the truth about anything! The lies keep spewing out of his mouth such regularity that we can’t believe anything he says! The same thing applies to politicians, in general, but especially left-wing politicians.

  • regulus30

this toad IS NOT VERY BRIGHT.

  • americansonlyhere

if it doesn’t then there is no reason to raise the ceiling. problem solved!

  • greyhound44

This Narcissist Sociopath Illegal Alien Muslim Idiot is obviously delusional and needs, along with her entire ship of fools, to be ELIMINATED!!

  • John Cherish

Good so when I max out my credit cards its not debt and I can always ask the government for a bailout after all they did for the big banks and my debts are small compared to those in this rational of thinking debt never has to be paid back only the promise that we will pay some day ” I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today” So when I don’t have a job I can tell my creditors I will gladly pay them back some day

  • slickzip

So raising the debt ceiling will not mean spending more money and ODUMBA poops golden turds ,,, yea sure !!!!!!

  • BONCARBO

It is Obama that hasn’t been keeping up, the tax payers are fed up with Obama’s spending. Between paying taxes and paying for all the freeloaders that don’t pay taxes and this governments total disregard for spending money that we don’t have on his and his families lavish vacations, what doesn’t Obama understand about the words we are broke. When most families are planning their budgets they take into consideration all the money we are going to receive from our jobs, then we decide what debt we will incur during the year, and we spend accordingly, but Obama has a blank credit card so he thinks he doesn’t have to follow the same principles that the rest of do. Take his credit card away, no more spending without having the money to spend, take away his Executive Order privileges and make him live by the Constitution, it was created to do just the things that Obama stop all the crap this fraud is doing, and yet not one person in Congress will tell this SOB NO, and why is that, why are they afraid to tell Obama NO? Does anyone have that answer??

    • Johnny Geetar

Yup. I do INDEED have your answer, boncarbo. The answer is, the NSA. Snowden spilled the beans of them spying on every aspect of our lives through electronic media. But Snowden revealed that RECENTLY. How long do you think that the NSA has been DOING this? It had a development phase, right? So, for at LEAST the past 4 years, they have also been spying on the politicians of the OPPOSING parties! So, every bit of dirt, every secret, every scumbaggish maneuver, every affair, every bribe they took, every last bit of insider douchebaggery that ANY GOP member has committed, is now being used as blackmail. Ever wonder why the GOP is blatently betraying their principles? Because if they do NOT tow the line given to them by the white house, then the dirt will be handed over to the press. It’s the ONLY thing that explains the GOP’s 180 degree turn. We KNOW they’ve been spying…… Assume also that they have been spying on their opponents. Chicago politics at it’s finest…..

  • Larry Christopher

I thank God that I am an “average” person. As an “average” person, I can see through the lies, the corruption, the out right hatred for America. It’s the BELOW AVERAGE, low intelligence individuals that will believe this pile of BS that you are trying to tell people. Barry….are you REALLY so stupid as to believe what you said? It is way past time to rid this country of this maniac! I get so tired of reading articles about where one Congressman is “inching: toward introducing a motion for impeachment. The MAJORITY of this country (at least the ones that understand the difference between truth and lies…or know fact from fiction) want this dictator deposed! In case the low information individuals read this (or have someone read it to them)…the ones that have no clue what is right…or fiction are the Democrats / Socialists / Liberals / Communists / Progressives (all the same in this political climate).

  • Robalou01

Try Obama’s “logic” with a credit card company and see where that gets you…This dolt is an absolute economic imbecile

    • johnnywood

Actually he is doing this on purpose because too many Americans are watching reality TV and they do not see what is happening to them.

  • 7PastorCarmine7

I was born at night but not last night!

  • Beedogs

Present-dent Bumbling Barry Obama, focused on the economy “like a laser beam” doubled our national debt. Barry – YOU LIE.

Guess they don’t want to have to cut back on vacations. Shut down the government, and let congress run like Texas and be in session every other year.

    • ProudPatr1ot

let congress run like Texas and be in session every other year.

Sure, good idea! We’ll just tell the rest of the planet not to do anything we don’t like every other year, should work out fine.

  • suzn123

And once again what did he say when Bush wanted to raise it….Its unconstitutional and I would not do that!!! Sickening

    • ProudPatr1ot

He didn’t call it unconstitutional. You’re free to check the speech for yourself, it’s all online.

      • patriotforrevo

You have commented 2523 times and only 861 up votes. Geeeez, what does that tell you. HMMMMM?

      • ProudPatr1ot

Right, because upvotes are the best way to ascertain whether something is worthwhile or not. Abraham Lincoln didn’t get many upvotes for the Emancipation Proclamation, therefore it was a bad idea…right?

What it tells me is that I use this screen name on Liberty Alliance sites.

  • ProudPatr1ot

Obama is, of course, right. It’s not “semantics” any more than the field of finance is semantics.

    • Alice Hallock

Don’t confuse the moron in the WH with long words, like semantics, finance, mathematics. He can’t even manage arithmetic that a kid in grade school should be able to do.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Those count as “long words” to you?

  • BigUgly666

….. AND THE DEBT HAS GONE UP …. otherwise, Stupid, you would not need to raise it again, would you.

    • Alice Hallock

Of course raising the debt celing won’t in crease the debt , AND FREEZZING THE DEBT CLOCK WON’T STOP IT FROM GOING UP. AFTER ALL THEY HAVEN’T STOPTED SPENDING. Obama is a fool!!!!!

Lew says the debt has not increased since July and he should know, shouldn’t he? Another delusional jack wagon. Quite the transparent government promised, don’t you think? The number of morons out there that believe these pathological liars and the crap they spew is very sad for America. Allowing nonproductive people that live off the government to vote is a travesty IMO. They are either too dumb, too lazy or criminal to have a job and should not be allowed to give themselves pay raises, yeah, just like Congress. Theys dun such a great job, deys need to give demselves a BIGRaise! Had enough yet?

    • ProudPatr1ot

What, exactly, is your issue with Lew’s math?

  • Macjamm

My ex tried to convince me that raising our credit card limits
just gave us more money to save at sales.

See, I think you’ve actually opened a really interesting window into who you are: in an article about the federal debt ceiling, you saw fit to bring up your ex and how she liked to shop or something. I don’t think it’s appropriate to compare a nation’s finances to those of a household, but you apparently do—so why don’t you tell us a bit more about your ex, and how she went from Mrs. Macjamm to the Ex-Mrs. Macjamm?

Not increasing the debt ceiling insures that Obama cannot spend anymore.
That will be the largest deficit reduction in world history!

  • 7PastorCarmine7

He wants to do more Golfing while America burns!

    • old sarge

We also need to pay for more vacations taken my him and mucher.

  • duif100

Why is raising the debt ceiling necessary if the purpose is not to raise the debt?

  • johnnywood

Wow! that means I can go out and use my already maxed out credit card. After all it does not increase my debt. Thank Mr. Obummer.

    • ginjit.dw

No it’s not just maxing out the card, it’s spending more than the limit in place, then increasing the limit…

  • shannon853

ALL I CAN SAY DUMBO, IS IF IT DOESN’T RAISE IT, WHY IS THERE A NEED TO RAISE THE LIMIT?

    • ProudPatr1ot

Because Congress appropriated $3.8 trillion in federal spending for FY13, and they’re only anticipating $2.9 trillion in receipts.

Do you understand how this works? Do you understand that “raising the debt ceiling” simply allows Treasury to hold an auction?

  • ginjit.dw

This is the argument a sleazy criminal defense attorney would make by saying the gun killed the victim, not the person firing the gun. He, the person firing the gun has no responsibility. This poser of a potus feels the same about debt. It’s not increasing the limit, (ceiling) it’s the ones who spends too much. Of course the one who spends too much isn’t him. He is such a fraud….

  • A concerned american

What did he fail to grasp in Economics 101? Anytime one borrows-one owes. The borrower is servant to the lender. We are the servants of China, Pakistan, Japan, India, etc.etc.

    • ProudPatr1ot

In your own Econ 101 class, did you teacher never relate to you this old chestnut? “If you owe the bank $1,000, you can’t sleep at night; if you owe the bank $1,000,000, the banker can’t sleep at night.”

      • Mark Smith

Since I the tax payer will have to pay all this money back I am sleepless, I guess I should start learning Chinese or Russian so when the clown in chief has to pay off his reckless spending I will be able to comunicate with our new masters…maybe our debtors will be happy with just California……

      • ProudPatr1ot

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that I’m younger than you, so you can spare me the self-pity about paying down this debt. Just in case I’m wrong, are you under 30 years old?

  • cactusbob

Obama is correct, raising the debt ceiling merely allows PEOPLE to increase the debt. Just like toilet paper doesn’t clean people’s butts, people have to move the paper against the butts to do the cleaning. How the hell did this guy become president?

    • ProudPatr1ot

How the hell did this guy become president?

You guys are still struggling with that one, huh?

  • LAPhil

“Now, this debt ceiling — I just want to remind people in case you haven’t been keeping up — raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress. It’s a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved.”
Huh? Isn’t it just the opposite? REFUSING TO RAISE the debt ceiling is the way to say you got to pay the bills you’ve already racked up, not raising it! If Obama had a brain eating parasite it would die of starvation.

    • ProudPatr1ot

REFUSING TO RAISE the debt ceiling is the way to say you got to pay the bills you’ve already racked up, not raising it!

No. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is akin to agreeing to purchase a house and then refusing to ask for a mortgage. And it’s only like that if refusing to get a mortgage would send the global economy into a tailspin.

      • LAPhil

That reply is about as clear as mud. My comment made sense, yours doesn’t.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Let me be clearer: “raising the debt ceiling” doesn’t change how out-of-balance Congressional budgets are. “Raising the debt ceiling” simply allows the Treasury Department to hold an auction at which it can raise the capital to finance the operations Congress has, by law, ordered the United States to undertake.

If that’s not clear, then I don’t know what more I can do to help you. Anyone who has ever run a business, bought a car, obtained a mortgage, or taken out student loans ought to understand the difference between creating a budget and financing that budget.

      • LAPhil

So there’s no ultimate limit according to your way of thinking. Are your bank or credit card companies willing to raise your debt limits indefinitely? I guess you don’t believe a bubble ever bursts.

      • ProudPatr1ot

So there’s no ultimate limit according to your way of thinking.

Of course there isn’t. Why would there be? Why should there be some “ultimate” nominal limit?

Are your bank or credit card companies willing to raise your debt limits indefinitely?

No, they’re willing to raise my credit limit commensurate with my earning power, just as global investors have repeatedly proved they’re willing to do with American sovereign debt.

I guess you don’t believe a bubble ever bursts.

Bubbles burst all the time, but if you really think we’re looking at a sovereign debt “bubble,” then you should be shorting Treasuries. Are you shorting Treasuries? Or do you have your retirement money in accounts that are heavily invested in Treasury bills, which are far and away the safest investment vehicles on the planet?

      • LAPhil

Let’s go back to my original comment. Obama said the following:
“Raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress.”

So I ask you: How does raising the debt ceiling say you’ve got to pay the bills you’ve already racked up?

      • ProudPatr1ot

I’m going to assume you meant to keep typing…

      • LAPhil

No, I didn’t, why would you assume that?

      • ProudPatr1ot

Because your comment originally appeared without either Obama’s quote or your question.

      • ProudPatr1ot

So I ask you: How does raising the debt ceiling say you’ve got to pay the bills you’ve already racked up?

Because that’s what the debt ceiling is. It’s the statutory limit of the amount of debt Treasury can issue. It is in no way related to the Congressional budgetary and appropriations processes.

By law, federal agencies are required to spend the money Congress appropriates on the programs it chooses. The only way to actually make that happen is to allow the Treasury to finance those debts, and the only way that happens is when Treasury holds auctions. Is that really so difficult to understand?

      • LAPhil

Yes, it is. You didn’t answer my question, which was how does raising the debt ceiling force you to pay the bills you’ve already racked up?

      • ProudPatr1ot

Raising the debt ceiling doesn’t force you to pay your bills, federal law does. Did I not say that?

Raising the debt ceiling merely allows you to pay the bills you’re legally required to pay. That’s it.

      • LAPhil

Then why didn’t Obama say it that way? How many times do I have to quote his words? You can read them for yourself.

      • ProudPatr1ot

He did: “All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress.”

Alternate answer: I dunno, because he presumed he was speaking to a nation of adults?

      • truthinlove

No using current revenue is to do that.

      • ProudPatr1ot

No, it’s not. Large corporations issue debt just to meet their payroll needs—it’s called commercial paper, and after the events of 2008, you really should know what that is.

      • truthinlove

Not if you limit spending to what you can pay out of revenue.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Why the fk would you do that? Is every company that receives a Series A round of funding similarly wrong? How about every person who takes out a mortgage to purchase a house?

      • truthinlove

I mean this is the kindest way possible, but now I know you are nuts when it comes to finances.

      • ProudPatr1ot

And I mean this in the kindest possible way, but it’s pretty obvious that you’ve never taken an economics course in your life.

Just curious, how far in debt are you personally?

      • ProudPatr1ot

I have no personal debt. I had a ton of grants and scholarships for college, and was able to pay off my student loans early.

How far are you in debt?

      • Rick

How’s all those high taxes in California working for you?

      • LAPhil

        What are you implying?

  • firereader

It’s been confirmed, Obama has switched from smoking weed to doing crack, that is the explanation of his statement that raising the debt ceiling does not create debt. Insanity must run in his family

    • ProudPatr1ot

Raising the debt ceiling finances the debt Congress has already appropriated. It doesn’t create debt.

Your issue is actually with the appropriations and budgetary processes, just as it was the last time we went through this as a nation.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

Your math defies logic. If we were paying DOWN the debt we could tolerate his sixth grade economics. Instead the debt keeps rising. What don’t you get?

      • ProudPatr1ot

How in the world does my math defy logic?

  • wdcraftr

Does not raise the debt? That’s like upping the limit on my credit card, buying a new tv, and saying that it didn’t raise my debt.. Tell that to Master card!

    • ProudPatr1ot

That’s like upping the limit on my credit card

Unless you make more than $15 trillion/year and mint the global reserve currency, it’s nothing like upping the limit on your credit card.

      • truthinlove

It’s the same but it just has much more severe consequences. If you mess up your credit, it hurts you, your family, and your creditors. If the government messes up, it hurts the whole country.

      • ProudPatr1ot

No, it’s really not. The United States government doesn’t have a MasterCard. The United States government issues sovereign debt, and if you don’t understand the difference between those two things, then I suggest you enroll at your local community college.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

Isn’t Columbia the University he attended where he had that pesky student ID that said “foreign student?”

      • Rick

100% true on that one. Also Occidental College as well. He’s a citizen of Indonesia.

      • ProudPatr1ot

In short, no. Sorry to break this to you, but the chain e-mail that gave you that little tidbit was a forgery. Let me guess, the image you saw includes Obama’s face on a Columbia ID card with a bar code on it, right? Thing is, Columbia didn’t add bar codes to their student IDs until the mid-90s.

Seriously, stop getting your news from chain e-mails.

  • patches64

WOW! I knew Obama was smart!

  • tom

Um…….. the national debt is at 17 trillion and climbing……never has it gone down. So yes… I do believe you are running up more debt.

  • Truth goes 100 MPH

Did anyone explain to Einstein how much we pay in interest on the current debt? My bet is all his supporters believe this manure. This has to be the stupidest Prez this Country has ever seen. I didn’t know his middle name was Ponzi.

    • tom

We spend over a billion a day on interest. What a waste all because the politicians are not smart enough to balance a checkbook.

      • ProudPatr1ot

We spend over a billion a day on interest.

Wow, what a big number when considered in a vacuum!

The Feds collect about $6.7 billion in taxes every day. Did you have a point you wanted to make?

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

And just how much do we spend every day on things other than interest? Do the math If the policy he advocates is so successful, why are we going deeper into debt? Ever hear of a tipping point?

      • ProudPatr1ot

And just how much do we spend every day on things other than interest?

We spend about $10 billion per day. Again, this is publicly available information.

If the policy he advocates is so successful, why are we going deeper into debt? Ever hear of a tipping point?

Debt, in and of itself, is not a bad thing, which anyone with a mortgage, student loans, or car payments ought to be able to understand. I have indeed heard of a tipping point, and if you think we’re anywhere near one, then you ought to short Treasuries, because the rest of the planet doesn’t think we are.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

If more people were working, the coffers would be filling. With your Boy in charge the reverse is happening. You will support him right up until he declares a “Detroit” Do you run your budget like he runs the Treasury?

      • ProudPatr1ot

If more people were working, the coffers would be filling.

I’m more than happy to talk about employment policy, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the statutory debt limit.

With your Boy in charge the reverse is happening.

Unemployment rates have improved under Obama by almost every measure, including the U6 “underemployment” metric. If you have any data to suggest otherwise, I’d love to see it.

Do you run your budget like he runs the Treasury?

Of course not: I don’t make $15.8 trillion per year, the way the United States does, and I don’t mint the global reserve currency. Why, exactly, do you think this is a relevant question? I don’t run my finances the way the Treasury does any more than you run your finances the way an investment bank does. They’re different entities, and only feeble minds feel the need to draw equal signs between them.

So it is OK for the government to spend itself into debt but not John Q Public? They are spending OUR money and for those of us that work, WE are paying interest unnecessarily Glad you finally admitted you don’t practice what you preach. You really should listen to yourself.

      • ProudPatr1ot

So it is OK for the government to spend itself into debt but not John Q Public?

John Q. Public has plenty of debt—he uses that debt, mostly, to buy an education, a car, and/or a house. Again, debt in and of itself isn’t a bad thing, and if you don’t believe me, you’re free to read up on Alexander Hamilton.

        They are spending OUR money

Yes, they are, and they’re spending it in ways that, in theory, we’ve told them to spend it. That’s how representative government works. If you want to change those spending priorities, you’re free to sack up and run for Congress.

        WE are paying interest unnecessarily

No, we’re not. There’s nothing “unnecessary” about paying interest on debts you’ve willingly accrued.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

“Willingly” accrued? You have missed the meaning of every post.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Yes, willingly accrued. This is not taxation without representation. We get to elect our Reps every two years. If you truly believe that they’re not doing what they should do, you’re more than welcome to run for office. And if you ever sack up and actually do run for office, I think you’ll find that it’s a helluva lot tougher than you thought it was.

Amazingly he assigns “policymaking” to the Tea Party.

I didn’t assign that; S&P did. If S&P’s problem was with Obama, they would have downgraded earlier—he’d been in office for more than two years by the time the downgrade happened. If S&P believed Obamacare was nearly so dangerous as all of you seem to, they would have downgraded us before the Tea Partiers ever took office. But that’s not what happened.

      • tom

I am saying I understand the joy of not wasting my money on interest payments. A simple concept really. If you think wasting a billion dollars a day is productive and beneficial…..I say you drank way too much Kool-aid and liked it.

      • ProudPatr1ot

I am saying I understand the joy of not wasting my money on interest payments.

No one enjoys paying interest. But for most people, the benefits of, say, a college education outweigh the carrying costs of student loans.

      • tom

What you are saying is that when you take out a loan of any kind….it is never your intention to pay it off. Not much of a plan if you ask me.

      • ProudPatr1ot

So prosperity and high finance are premised on going deeper and deeper in debt?

If you believe that Alexander Hamilton laid the financial foundation of this country, then yes.

      • tom

So that makes me correct in paying off all my loans. Just as the government should do. Thank you for finally agreeing with me.
Or do you talk out of both sides of your neck ?

      • ProudPatr1ot

So that makes me correct in paying off all my loans.

If you paid off all your loans within the agreed-upon term, then yes, I suppose that’s “correct,” though that’s definitely not the proper term.

Just as the government should do.

Just as the government has done. Every single time. Which is why Treasuries are considered the safest securities on the planet.

      • tom

If I could go back in time to when I was five I could agree with your economic ideas. If the government paid things off….debt would not be accumulating. Evidence is a tough thing for you eh ?

      • ProudPatr1ot

My ideas that loans are supposed to be paid off within the agreed-upon term, and that the Treasury Dept. routinely issues ten-, twenty-, and thirty-year loans? That economic idea?

The federal government has always paid off its debts, and if Tea Party Republicans wrap their heads around what “debt ceiling” really means, we’ll continue to do so. I defy you to find me a single purchaser of a T-bill who didn’t get every last dime he or she was promised.

      • truthinlove

      • ProudPatr1ot

The fking federal government is neither a household nor is it a business, and if you’d ever taken an economics class, I wouldn’t have to tell you that.

      • truthinlove

But they are using borrowed money to do it, not current revenue. We are going bankrupt as a nation. I don’t want to lose what I have worked hard for because the federal government is irresponsible.

      • ProudPatr1ot

But they are using borrowed money to do it, not current revenue.

So is everyone with a mortgage. So is every small business with a loan from the bank. What’s your point?

We are going bankrupt as a nation.

No, we’re not. Bankruptcy is a specific condition in which lenders won’t lend to us anymore, and we’re nowhere near that point yet.

      • makrov

I don’t remember saying i WAS WORKING A LOW WAGE JOB. I was foreman in a large industry and my education helped me advance. Just days after graduation I was granted much better advancements and with the education I didn’t have to find a job. The graduates now are still looking for jobs just to pay for their education. I know of many who are starting at the bottom trying to make ends meet. My professors were astonished at how I managed my work loads and studies. I also have 5 certificates from General Motors (whom I never worked for) and other colleges in advanced fields. As I said above you seem to be an ignoramus. The shoe fits very well.

And I don’t remember saying that either. I said you were working a “lower-skilled job,” and you were, weren’t you?

I was foreman in a large industry and my education helped me advance.

Oh, great, thanks for agreeing with me.

Just days after graduation I was granted much better advancements and with the education I didn’t have to find a job.

My professors were astonished at how I managed my work loads and studies.

      • maddad1947

Here is a point for you to look at: Can you or anyone (and I will round up) throw away 1/7th of their gross income every day? Because interest paid out is not doing anyone in this country any good.
And being as how you are so good with numbers: Here is a question for you If we take in 6.7 Billion every day and spend 1 + Billion in interest everyday leaving apx. 5.5 billion (that rounding ok with you?) to spend: How much DO we spend each and every day? I heard it was in the neighborhood of 10 Billion a day. That doesn’t look to healthy to me. Now that last figure may not be accurate but I do remember that what we spent everyday was more than what was taken in.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Can you or anyone (and I will round up) throw away 1/7th of their gross income every day?

Of course they can. In a $50,000 household, that’s $19.56 in carrying costs per day, do you think that you could find a way to spend twenty bucks a day? Remember, you’re including rent/mortgage, food, taxes, fuel and car payments, cable/phone, clothing…shall I go on?

How much DO we spend each and every day?

First of all, this is all publicly available information. Secondly, the FY13 budget includes carrying costs on the national debt, as do all federal budgets. Like the Romney campaign, you’re double counting.

When I see stats that say 100% of the voters ALL Voted for only one candidate and the same one at that, I question it. And when I see that those same area records are lost, stolen, destroyed, or sealed; I question it.
This…Individual… loves to seal records, use that “Executive Order” pad (like he was ordering take out at a local fast food joint), It makes me wonder not only who is he? But who the F does he think he is, to play so fast and loose with the US Constitution.?

      • ProudPatr1ot

Who the H said it was a TRUE majority that elected and re-elected Obama?

Every county elections board in the country.

When I see quotes of stats saying any percentage greater than 100% of the registered voters in an area turned out and voted; I question it.

You’re referring to retracted stories originally published by right-wing bloggers about voter turnout in Wood County, Ohio and St. Lucie County, Florida, both of which are in states with Republican Secretaries of State. I invite you to check the Ohio and Florida Secretary of State websites and see what the actual turnout numbers are.

When I see stats that say 100% of the voters ALL Voted for only one candidate and the same one at that, I question it.

Then you don’t understand what a normal distribution looks like. There were more than 125 million votes cast in 2012—it would be truly shocking to not find a single precinct that went 100% for either candidate. And for what it’s worth, Romney picked up 100% of the vote in several rural areas of the South.

      • Robert James

I want all you poster to see just how big a fraud this proud-idiot is. I’m going to give him some questions from varying topic’s. He will not know the answers to any of them but, as he always does, he google his answers,,,,and he’ll still get some wrong. Unlike we intellectuals who already know the answers..

I’ll be happy to answer your inane questions as soon as you answer mine, which is only fair considering I’ve been asking you my question for much longer than you’ve been posting your 15.

I tell you what you little scared misfit, lets back up. Go review the history. You STILL owe me your itinerary. You have never given it to me, just blah, 6:oopm blah, mumble, mumble, Austin, blah blah,,,,You do know what an itinerary is right? You scared? Send it to my debate email address James D. Hendrickson. You provide the very first answer to the very first question discussed and we’ll go from there. You have my debate email address boy, send it. Or are you too scared. See punko, I’m going to be in Austin that week anyway meeting with some of my graduating class at UT. But you? You didn’t even graduate from high school.

      • ProudPatr1ot

You STILL owe me your itinerary

No, I don’t. I never said I’d send your my itinerary because you claimed you were going to publish my home address, and my home address is listed on my itinerary. The same offer stands: guess my address, you get my itinerary.

        James D. Hendrickson

For the bajillionth time, that’s not my real name any more than your real name is Robert James.

You provide the very first answer to the very first question discussed and we’ll go from there.

Nope. You offered me a whole bunch of $100 bets, and I’ve got documentation for a bunch of them. If you’re going to make good on them, I’ll send it to you right now. Once again: are you going to make good on those bets or not? If you are, then I’ll send you the documentation, and you can PayPal me the money as a show of good faith, which you’ve steadfastly failed to show thus far.

        my graduating class at UT

Haaaaaaahahahhahaha, that’s your “top-rated” alma mater? I turned down a full-ride to UT-Austin because I didn’t want to spend four years (clap clap clap clap) deep in the heart of Texas. I went to Boston University—feel free to check whichever rankings you’d like—and I’ve got the sheepskin to prove it. Let me know if you’re going to make good on those bets, because you’re about to owe me several hundred dollars.

Proud Patr1ot, are you serious? Debt Ceiling is just another term for Credit Limit. The U.S. had reached its legal credit limit/debt ceiling. Sadly the Congress can vote to increase it.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Debt Ceiling is just another term for Credit Limit.

No, it’s not, unless your credit card companies allow you to hold auctions at which global investors give you money in exchange for long-term securities.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

“GIVE” you money? Is that the same as a loan? I guess in Democrazy land it is a gift. Here in reality World we call it borrowing.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Yes, actually, that’s the exact same thing as a loan: someone gives me money right now, and in exchange, I promise to pay back the principle plus interest. That’s how loans work.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

But when do YOU actually pay it back? Oblowhole can print money. Can you?

      • ProudPatr1ot

But when do YOU actually pay it back?

That depends entirely on the term of the loan. In the case of a 30-year mortgage, you pay it back month by month over 30 years, unless you have the option of paying it more quickly or you renegotiate with your lender.

Oblowhole can print money. Can you?

Of course not! Which is why I’ve said, repeatedly, that comparisons between the federal budget and a household budget are only taken seriously by stupid people.

      • truthinlove

The money may come from a different process and source, but that is irrelevant. In either case, it means you have reached the point at which you have to stop borrowing. That is what I want our federal government to do: stop borrowing.
But now we are in a bind, because we need to borrow to pay interest on the debts that are due. That is absolutely insane. Cut programs.

      • ProudPatr1ot

In either case, it means you have reached the point at which you have to stop borrowing.

No, it doesn’t. The point at which you have to stop borrowing is the point at which the markets will no longer lend to you, period, full stop. There is no magical financial referee here.

But now we are in a bind, because we need to borrow to pay interest on the debts that are due.

Darn good thing we’re looking at interest rates that are near historic lows, then, don’t you think? Of course, by your logic, we’ve been at that “point” for my entire life, and we’ve still never made a single bondholder take a haircut, so if you have a legitimate point you’d like to make, you’re free to try.

Money? What money? Obama says, “it’s not mine, so I’ll spend, spend, spend.” Downgraded credit rating, nearly 17 trillion in debt, 15% unemployment…and he wants to start a war after he downgraded our military. The left is right…he is the Perfect President because he’s black. He is never wrong. Brilliant.

  • ARMYOF69

Wait, let me see , my credit card company gives me a higher credit amount , but my income is NOT any higher than it was earlier, and now I go and spend the larger limit. How is that not OVERSPENDING?
And , better still…does that moron in the black house believe that we are ALL a bunch of idiots , like his followers , who voted him IN?

    • Rick

obozo needs a swift kick in his ass after the queers get done with it.

    • ProudPatr1ot

but my income is NOT any higher than it was earlier

I’m sorry, are you arguing by analogy that the American economy isn’t growing year-over-year? Because every available piece of evidence suggests otherwise.

      • Sunshine Kid

Hey, liberal idiot. You obviously missed the point again. If your personal income does not go up, going more in debt is counter productive. And as for the American economy, it certainly is NOT growing, if you consider that half the population is pretty much out of work and living on the tax producers.

      • ProudPatr1ot

If your personal income does not go up, going more in debt is counter productive.

That’s true! Unfortunately for your argument, the American economy continues to grow every year, so in this (really, really flawed) analogy, the individual is getting a raise every year.

And as for the American economy, it certainly is NOT growing, if you consider that half the population is pretty much out of work and living on the tax producers.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read all day. By every objective standard, the American economy is going to grow this year.

      • Sunshine Kid

Getting a raise every year? Right. You obviously haven’t figured out that inflation pretty much wipes out any gain by a raise. If anything, your purchase power goes down with each uptick of the inflation rate.

      • ProudPatr1ot

You obviously haven’t figured out that inflation pretty much wipes out any gain by a raise.

And you obviously haven’t figure out the difference between “real” and “nominal” growth. Go ahead and run the numbers, show me where I’m wrong.

If anything, your purchase power goes down with each uptick of the inflation rate.

If the national economy isn’t growing, then yes, that’s correct. But the national economy is growing, as you can see by looking at literally any metric you want.

      • Robert James

      • maddad1947

        1. I disagree with you on the “National Economy” growing. There are way too many people still out of work who 5 years ago were working. Of course they are not counted anymore as their Unemployment benefits have run out.
        2. My purchasing power HAS GONE DOWN. It takes more money today to get what I got “yesterday” particularly in the essentials area, Like Food, Fuel (Home and Transportation) Utility Services (Gas, Electric, Water, etc.) Medical. All areas that have been either “Adjusted” down or out of the economic equation particularly by this current administration.
        3. And as I said before a Growing National Economy is one that grows faster then inflation as it actually exists. And this our economy is NOT doing, even with all of Obama’s “Stimulus” Money still in circulation.
        4. Real Growth or lack of has not been figured into the Economic equation since Jimmy Carter was in office. And what is Real? It is what the DOLLAR in my pocket will buy for me Today VS what it Bought for me Yesterday. Example: 3 years ago a gallon of gas cost less than a dollar a gallon, in most areas, but not all some places were and always have been higher, Today, I paid $3.209 for that same gallon of gas. nothing different in it then there was before either. Oh yes and those Oil Companies are showing RECORD Profits and minimal Tax payments. (and that is a different topic for another day)
And that all adds up to not Growth but a looming Economic Collapse that could very well destroy this country, economically.
        5. There are already several States that can not balance their budgets any better then the Federal Government. If it were not for the federal money being poured into those states by the Federal Government, as taken from the rest of the states that are being responsible with their budgets we would be looking at state size Detroit financial disasters, and growing.
        6. Even with printing an extra $85 Billion Dollars a month, each and every month, it is obvious that the federal Government can NOT keep this up for much longer. We are financing our National Debt by using our debt as security for more debt. How crazy can you get?

      • ProudPatr1ot

        1. Then you also disagree with the Bureau of Labor Statistics and literally every economist on the planet. The U6 number, while troubling, has nothing to do with real GDP growth.
        2. Your personal purchasing power is not necessarily indicative of either the national economy of the strength of the dollar. The plural of “anecdote” is not “data.”
        3. Again, you’re claiming something that literally every economist on the planet disagrees with. GDP growth continues to outstrip inflation, and there’s about a bajillion data points to back up that assertion.
        4. Yes, it really has. Go to the BLS website, let me know what you find.
        5. Most states have balanced budget amendments. They are demonstrably “better” at balancing their budgets than the Feds are.
        6. Take a look at real yields on long-term Treasuries, let me know how must longer you think we have… As I’ve said before, if you truly believe this, you should move all of your personal savings into funds that short Treasuries, and you should do it immediately.

      • ARMYOF69

You are truly a MORON. But then, that makes you one of 51% of the whole population, so you have plenty of good company.

      • ProudPatr1ot

But then, that makes you one of 51% of the whole population, so you have plenty of good company.

Spoken like a man who knows what “normal distribution” and “standard deviation” mean…

      • maddad1947

Suggestions are not facts. Yes there may be more “dollars” coming in but unless the number of dollars can exceed the amount of “REAL” inflation that is taking place then at best the government is only breaking even, but most likely it is falling behind.
You can delude yourself all you want. adjusting figures how ever it suits you, but what matters is just how much money you have to spend today to buy the same things you did yesterday. And when it takes MORE money to buy the same things then you are loosing all the way around.
Removing something from the equation, because you don’t like it’s impact is not being honest with yourself or smart.

      • ProudPatr1ot

        Suggestions are not facts.

BLS data are. Again, are you claiming that the American economy isn’t growing year-over-year?

Yes there may be more “dollars” coming in but unless the number of
dollars can exceed the amount of “REAL” inflation that is taking place
then at best the government is only breaking even, but most likely it is
        falling behind.

Go take a look at the actual numbers you’re talking about. Inflation’s been low the entire time Obama’s been in office; we’ve seen real GDP growth for the last several years.

You can delude yourself all you want.

And you can argue with economic data all you want, though I don’t see how you intend to do that.

adjusting figures how ever it suits you

I’m not “adjusting” $hit. One of us is ignoring economic data, and it’s not me.

  • tom

I’m a licensed mental health counselor and this is delusional. Padded cell time for our community organizer in chief.

    • Sunshine Kid

One doesn’t need a license to see how delusional our government has become. The problem is that there seems no cure for this cancer except removal and replacement.

  • Jim Schafer

where’s Ronald Reagan? Let’s hear his arguments about this! ! !

    • ProudPatr1ot

You mean the same Ronald Reagan who raised the debt ceiling 18 times? Yeah, sure, let’s hear what he has to say about this…

  • truthinlove

Either Obama is outrageously stupid about finances or he thinks we are.

  • Average Joe

Hes right (sort of) Raising the debt celing dont raise the debt. It just alows them to take on more debt by spending more just because they can now barrow more from other countrys. If you made the debt limmet 150 trillion dollors. We would’nt have that much debt. But they would be spending money so fast that we would have that much debt in 3 weeks.

  • Anthony Alexander

Obama should go back to the colleges he went to and get a refund, because where I am sitting a high school student in economics understands simple finances better……………..

    • ProudPatr1ot

Good thing we’re not talking about “simple finances” then, don’t you think?

      • truthinlove

The Principles are the same, only the context is different. That’s why you don’t see it.

      • ProudPatr1ot

The Principles are the same, only the context is different.

No, the fundamentals are different, too, in no small part because the average household can’t print money.

      • Anthony Alexander

Thats where the big joke comes in….It IS simple finances……

      • ProudPatr1ot

        What’s “simple” about a $15+ trillion economy?

      • Anthony Alexander

Size monetarily has nothing to do with it………If i have to explain to you then there is a bigger problem…..

      • ProudPatr1ot

Size has a lot to do with it, as anyone who’s ever heard of cost-of-capital can tell you. Having more than 300 million actors and a wide array of industries has a lot to do with it, too.

The United States economy is not the same thing as a household or a business. There’s nothing “simple” about the money supply, or calculating inflationary targets, and the sooner you stop pretending that this is the exact same thing as balancing your personal checkbook, the better off we’ll all be.

      • Max_

        Shut up stupid

      • ProudPatr1ot

        Excellent point, thank you.

      • Max_

Yes it is and I intend to make that point as often as possible until people just ignore you.

Anthony Alexander I don’t know if you enjoy arguing with this fool but I intend to show people that he is a troll a paid troll he had the weekend off he has multiple avatars he is also a jerk. I propose that people just ignore him shun him only give him thumbs down when some fool liberal gives him a thumbs up.

      • Anthony Alexander

Jolly good………Thanks for the heads up….as a Brit it is hard to understand if these people are genuine or interlopers……..I rely upon some level of honesty…but if I am relying upon that from some cockamamie liberal I automatically set myself up for disappointment…..cherrio

      • Max_

You are welcome, I have been watching him for over a month now and he works pretty much all day every day except most weekends he seems to have off.
These guys just piss me off I do not think they should be allowed to just bug people.

  • Paul Brown

If we are raising the debt ceiling then it means we need more money, and if they spend that money to pay bills, they we now have another debt that the American people will have to pay back, but its a known fact that most black people will borrow money or use a credit card until they can’t charge on it and then move on to another one. So is they don’t ever intend to pay it, then it isn’t a debt. because they aren’t going to pay the bills anyway. That’s is this muslim morons mentality about everything.

    • ProudPatr1ot

its a known fact that most black people will borrow money or use a credit card until they can’t charge on it and then move on to another one

      You’re a racist piece of $hit.

      • Paul Brown

Ahhh, isn’t that a shame, calling someone else a racist, the only ones who are true racists are the black people. They are always making jokes about the white people and they love to segregate themselves all the time. Take the Miss Black America contest, what’s wrong with the miss America contest, black people are on there but no you have to have your own where there are no whites allowed. New York has a union that is 100 blacks in law enforcement, what’s wrong with the police union. Everything has to be about the blacks and the hell with the white people.
As far as what I am talking about here, I have seen it for myself, run up a credit card and then go for another, when I asked about paying for the first one, I was told, I had no intention of paying for that, not when I can get another card and do the same thing again.

      • ProudPatr1ot

When you say that “its a known fact that most black people will borrow money or use a credit card until they can’t charge on it and then move on to another one,” and you don’t see that as racist, then yeah, dude, you’re a fking racist. When you extrapolate your personal experience and generalize that experience to include everyone of that skin color, that’s kinda the definition of racism.

  • Gene Stone

What’s really sad is the fact that the liberal-minded left actually believe this lying joker.

  • MichaelZZ

Raising the ceiling is a cosmetic façade (redundant? lol)

Any Senator or Representative who advocates a “debt limit”, i.e., to not pay our bills that our legislative bodies authorized should be Impeached and ousted from Congress, as he or she is in violation of that which he or she took an oath to support, i.e., the Constitution (14th Amendment).

    14th Amendment – Section 4.
The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

Thus, if any “leader” questions the debt (obligations), he or she is violation the Constitution which he or she had sworn to uphold.

Bill Cunningham on the Hannity show, tonight, made an absolute fool of himself and was rude, beyond comprehension.

Hannity, apparently, not being knowledgeable did not correct the man.
    His producers let him down.
    mz

    • Shofar threading

Go back and replay the program. Tamara, the Democrat dip, was the one who made a fool of herself, doing just what Democrats always do — talk over anyone and everyone. Hannity failed in not shutting her up. I would have done more than shake a finger at her as Cunningham did. I would have pulled out some of her hair. Maybe it would have made room for some brains.

      • MichaelZZ

        Shofar,
You, apparently, either didn’t read my comments or you didn’t understand that which you read.
Neither Cunningham, Hannity, or Hannity’s producers know of or understand Section 4. of the 14th Amendment.
The “act” of raising something which is, at best, cosmetic is poor theatrics designed to fool “We The People”.
Those employing such a tactic should be embarrassed as they are traversing Impeachment proceedings.
I had 3 negatives posted, so far.
At least you had the balls to make your statement, while the other two remain wading in the swamp of ignorance.
If our leadership want to reduce future expenditures which have not yet been approved, that is up to them.
They cannot say we will not pay the obligations to which we have been indebted by our “leaders”.
The way we are going, we may require a massive “re-organization”, which would include defaults.
All of this began in 1981, enabled by John Hinckley………., which has caused a massive shift of wealth from the middle-class to the top 0.1%, during these past 30+ years.

      I’m actually onboard with this.

    • truthinlove

Any time they want to they can vote to rescind what they have already authorized in spending. In my state it happens all of the time, because we are required to have a balanced budget and it can not exceed revenue collected.

      • MichaelZZ

        TruthInLove,
        Great.
Please tell me what you believe they should rescind?
I think all government salaries and benefits must be adjusted AND multiple retirements must be voided, adjusted, mitigated.

When the citizens of this nation get off their fat and lazy butts, grow a pair, and start acting like Americans. Every one of us needs to write their reps and demand Congress impeach and remove this Muslim traitor. Remind them of what happened in CO and that 2014 is a (re)election year. Make sure you get your friends and neighbors to act. The longer America sits back waiting for patriots to do it for them the longer we have to put up with Obama’s crap.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Every one of us needs to write their reps and demand Congress impeach and remove this Muslim traitor.

Please do write your reps, and tell them exactly this. Nothing says “take me seriously” like insisting that the President is a crypto-Muslim.

      • maddad1947

I see your point. But, if those same Reps. and Senators started receiving hundreds even thousands of emails referring to Obama as a Muslim; they would have to stop and think and wonder WHY the SOB is, at the least, being perceived that way? And even if he isn’t he is, or so it seems, extremely pro Muslim, and at this time the mood of this country isn’t.

      • ProudPatr1ot

thousands of emails referring to Obama as a Muslim; they would have to
stop and think and wonder WHY the SOB is, at the least, being perceived
        that way?

They know exactly why Obama is perceived as a Muslim, even though there’s no evidence to suggest that he is: because “Muslim” is the latest and greatest way to describe the dark-skinned Other as an un-American force and a threat to established power structures. My good man, it’s dog whistles all the way down…

And even if he isn’t he is, or so it seems, extremely pro Muslim, and at this time the mood of this country isn’t.

What the actual fk does “extremely pro Muslim” even mean? There are more than a billion Muslims on the planet, and most of the Muslims who live in this country don’t want Sharia law—why is being “pro Muslim” any worse than being “pro Christian” or “pro Jewish?”

  • voterid

When any president acts and talks like he is “king” of the universe and predicts he will veto any bill that the Republicans send over, is contempt for the citizens of this country…from the first day he got elected and he had full power with the house and the senate, he reminded the Republicans that he “won” and that he didn’t need any of them…so began the contempt for each other started by the prez. Now that the Republicans have their hands on the purse of this nation, they are saying the same thing to him…”we won” and we don’t need you to tell us what to do….I say stand strong conservatives and give him the same type of respect he has shown toward you…we Conservatives, Republicans, Libertarians, Tea Party members and many liberals stand behind you…

    • ProudPatr1ot

So a President saying he’ll veto something makes that President a king, huh?

Gosh, sure would be embarrassing if that standard applied to Ronald Reagan, right?

  • maddad1947

This guy missed his calling: He should be selling Snake Oil or Used Cars. But he should not be in the WHITE HOUSE. We are going to have to pay a fortune to have the place fumigated when he finally leaves. He is just plain lying scum, and he contaminates everything he comes in contact with.

    • truthinlove

And they wouldn’t be asking to raise the debt ceiling if they wouldn’t be planning to exceed the current one. I can’t believe that Obama is so dumb.

      • maddad1947

Obama is not that dumb! But he thinks the majority of the people are, or won’t think for themselves and will follow along with what ever he says, no questions asked. And the real trouble is he is partly right. There is a very large group who will not think for themselves but will let Obama do their thinking for them.

The debt ceiling matters because if we did not have and debt this country would never have to bough down do others. The ceiling is to prevent over spending on crap to get themselves elected over and over. EX. John Murtha now deceased.

Obama went on to suggest that “the average person” mistakenly thinks that raising the debt ceiling means the U.S. is racking up more debt:
I believe the average person has to know by now how big a liar Obama is. If you borrow money, you have to pay it back, hence creating more debit. He really thinks we will believe this???

Now I showed you mine {age} show me yours if you please !

That’s great and all, but only one of us is getting regularly scheduled prostate exams, and it isn’t me.

The fk do you think you know about my survival skills? The fk do you think you know about which disasters I’ve already lived through?

I could survive without safeway or wal-mart or electricity !

Hey, good for you. I’m currently surviving without Wal-Mart, but that’s mostly because there are literally millions of Americans getting by without access to the cheap crap they sell at Wal-Mart.

Now I showed you mine {age} show me yours if you please !

I’m 30, which makes you 25 years closer to the grave than me. Best of luck with that.

It’s New England. As I’ve told you. And considering that the only flight number I’ve given you is flying into New York, it takes a real special kind of intellect to deduce that I also live in New York. Also, is that how you think people in Washington state talk?

You are the absolutely perfect mascot for your cousin-fking state: loud, obnoxious, and just unapologetically stupid. You’ll owe me $100 by the close of business today, and I think we’d all be more than a little surprised if you ever paid up.

      • ProudPatr1ot

I never called YOU a pedophile you moron.

On September 13, 2013, you wrote “Psychopath and known pedophile” four times in replies to me. That same day, in another reply to me, you also wrote, “toothpick aka moron from mini-so-duh suffers from Tourette’s coupled with a brain of carrion, recently escaped from the “nervous hospital”. Psychopath and known pedophile. Life member of NAMBLA” in that day’s “US Exceptionalism” post.

I’m only letting you know so you and your lawyer can get straight to the point—I don’t want you wasting money on billable hours that should be set aside for the settlement you’re going to give me. You’re planning on posting video of me in the Austin airport, which is going to tie my name and my face to your repeated and public accusation that I’m a “known pedophile,” and that, Bobby, is libel under Texas law.

See you in Austin, tough guy. And for your own sake, please do consult with an attorney.

      • Robert James

You know what I like? The fact that you’ve had a least 15 post censored just since I’ve been punking you. Shows complete lack of intelligence.

Which part of your comment was intended to be sarcastic? The part where you said Obama should take a course a Hillsdale College (which I didn’t comment on),, or the part where you repeated a long-debunked lie? Your profile says that you describe yourself as a “conservative realist”…how, exactly, were you being sarcastic?

      • http://theawakenednation.ning.com/profile/KevinMKeener Snowman8wa

Seriously?????? Just because my description states my position, that FORBIDS me from having the ability to be sarcastic???? Where is THAT RULE written???? Ohhhh, I get it, this is where you get to come back with the “hypocirsy” accusation, or accuse me of “bigotry”. Or will it just be the proverbial “RACIST”????? And by the way, the foreign student ID was not in regards to a debunked email persay, but the implication of the story as a whole, whether true or false…..it is out there and therefore open for sarcasm.

Do you have letters to of indignation to Leno, Kimmel, Stewart, or Letterman when they share their satiric banter on the same subject?????

I have seen your comments and responses to said comments which are mostly negative, you may see it is getting debates going, but I see it as being a person who enjoys being disputatious and your malevolence shows through the facade of being truly interested in the subject.

Your responses are just a reminder to me, to never wrestle with a pig in the mud; the pig enjoys it and you just end up dirty.

I didn’t say anything about you being a racist, but if you’d rather have a discussion with the caricatures in your head, you’re welcome to.

  • Joseph

Hmmm you raise the debt c
Ceiling create more debt but It isn’treally making more debt? What DO YOU THINK WE’RE STUPID? It would be laughable if the fact was that there are a lot if really stupid people out there that really think k and is telling the truth! It true! YOU CAN’T FIX STUPID!!!!!!????

  • Sunshine Kid

Let’s get this straight: Raising the debt limit does not create more debt? OK, that’s liberal logic. Where are those in government with actual common sense?

    • ProudPatr1ot

You do understand that the “debt ceiling” is merely the statutory limit of the value of the securities the Treasury can auction off in order to finance the expenditures Congress has legally obligated the various federal agencies to spend…right? You do get that, don’t you?

      • Sunshine Kid

I get the point. That doesn’t change logic, which is if you are in debt, you cannot get debt free. Raising the debt limit only makes you MORE in debt. Get it?

      • ProudPatr1ot

if you are in debt, you cannot get debt free

That’s objectively not true: if you’re in debt and you take on more debt to get an advanced degree, you can easily increase your earning potential to pay off all your debts.

      • truthinlove

Obama already has advanced degrees and it has helped him a darn bit. He’s as dense as solid oak. I was going to say mahogany, but people would probably take that as a racist comment. Our world is in a manic bipolar phase.

      • ProudPatr1ot

I’m sorry, are you actually going to argue that advancing one’s education doesn’t increase one’s earning potential? Or are you just going for a cheap laugh because you know you’re defending a position that’s indefensible?

      • Sunshine Kid

You missed the point. If you are in debt and get MORE in debt, you’re digging a deeper hole for your debt. In such an act of idiocy, no matter WHAT your ‘potential’ you are defeating it.

      • ProudPatr1ot

If you are in debt and get MORE in debt, you’re digging a deeper hole for your debt.

And you’re missing the point that debt, in and of itself, isn’t a bad thing, as anyone with a mortgage ought to be able to tell you.

      • Sunshine Kid

Been there, done that, and have no debt anymore. And I did not get to this point by going deeper into debt, raising the limits and borrowing more than I could afford. You, on the other hand, seem to think that debt is the great achievement in life. It isn’t. Debt costs much more than it’s worth. Rather like digging down to get out of a hole.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Debt costs much more than it’s worth.

I’m sure every person who’s ever gone to college on student loans would agree with that assessment…

      • Sunshine Kid

You have a very limited view of life. You see nothing more than college loans. Grow up.

      • ProudPatr1ot

You’re right, because obviously I didn’t write “mortgage” anywhere in our conversation…

What is says is we are undisciplined in our spending. It says the people we sent to DC are unable to control their compulsion to obligate hard-earned wages won by our citizens to ever increase undefined expenses. It says the representative government has stopped representing the workers and shows preference to those unwilling or unable to work … it’s a bad way to fund a government.

  • Wayne Ogilvy

We would not have to raise the debt ceiling if we just got rid of the worthless SOB’s in DC and all their servants, bodyguards, limo’s, etc, etc. If this turd ever had a job and WORKED for a living instead of being a freeloader all his life he might see things a little differently !

    • maddad1947

The problem is He hasn’t worked for a living, he isn’t working now for a living, and he doesn’t plan on working for a living in the future. So he NEVER will see things even a little bit differently.

We would not have to raise the debt ceiling if we just got rid of the worthless SOB’s in DC and all their servants, bodyguards, limo’s, etc, etc.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Do you live in Massachusetts? If you don’t, then you can’t vote for me.

If you have “too many skeletons in the closet,” then I trust you’ve never commented on a politician’s personal life, correct? Oh, wait…a quick look at your comment history shows that that’s definitely not the case.

Put your money where your mouth is and quit making excuses.

      • Wayne Ogilvy

Exactly what do you suggest I do my friend ? I vote, I pay taxes, I am not a criminal, {Just so you know the skeleton is a DWI from 1991} and I help my friends and neighbors when needed. I send letters and e-mails to my Senators and Congressman and call them on the phone. If I can do more for our country please advise me as to what it should be ! OH and my excuse for beeching is called the first Amendment, Or maybe it’s Bush’s fault, I’m getting old and it’s hard for me to remember which excuse to use today !

      • ProudPatr1ot

Run for office. Obama admitted to cocaine use, George W. Bush was a drunk, Clinton all-but-admitted to smoking marijuana. David Vitter was caught, while in office, soliciting prostitutes, and he admitted to it. The “skeletons in the closet” argument doesn’t hold water; if you’re truly sick of your options, go run for office.

      • Wayne Ogilvy

Thank’s for the encouragement, Now all I need is the connections and Money, But who would I run against ? My local state officials for my district are good rep’s,So me replacing one of them accomplishes nothing ! My two senators in DC could stand to be replaced but with no political experience or the funds to run against their millions of dollars I would not stand a chance ! See Proud I can come up with all kinds of excuses.

      • ProudPatr1ot

Now all I need is the connections and Money

No, all you need now is a sturdy pair of walking shoes and knuckles that are willing to knock on doors. Run for city council, run for school board, run for dog-catcher. The vast majority of the folks in Washington held lower elected office first, so stop making excuses.

My local state officials for my district are good rep’s

And here we get to the nub of the issue: since the 1960s, the American people have always said that they hate the job “Congress” is doing, but they’re usually quite pleased with their own Reps…to the tune of about a 66% approval rating, on average. Perhaps your real issue is the fact that, in a country of more than 300 million people, some people disagree with you.

See Proud I can come up with all kinds of excuses.

You sure can, Wayne, you sure can…

He’s right, raising the debt ceiling does not raise the debt anymore than raising my credit card limit increases my debt. What raises the debt is borrowing money up to the “new” debt ceiling — which he is guaranteed to do. And by the way, it will be Bush’s fault.

    • ProudPatr1ot

What raises the debt is borrowing money up to the “new” debt ceiling — which he is guaranteed to do.

Close—it actually means that we’ll be spending the money as Congress has legally required Federal agencies to do.

  • Archangel

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, “the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

Muslim hostilities will cease the day I’m inaugurated…obama 2007, ugh!!!
How do you know when obama lied? Answer: when his mouth is moving.
obama’s behavior shows his image to be truly ugly, and despicable. He has no care for the American people; he seeks only to protect himself, and his image as an iconoclast.
Last week obama focused on Syria and Putin focused on a better economy of the world. The question is why is obama in any economic meeting? He can’t fix the economic debt in America. Even with a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate from 2008 then 2010, nothing was done.
May be the obama and his medias using Syria to cover up economic woes in America. We all understand that policies that amount to giving away free money cannot continue indefinitely. Clearly, most developed economics need to reduce their level of national debt and fiscal deficit in the medium and long term. Job creation to sound monetary and fiscal policies, structural policies, to foster innovention and promotion of smaller enterprises.
obama can sink his own ship but not the rest of our country. Go back to Kenya, the village there is missing its idiot.

    OBAMA,
You should begin to realize that Americans are not stupid. Raising the debt ceiling means that you want more money to spend. I am willing to make a bet with you that if we audited your accounts, the various accounts of Geithner and George Soros, that raising the debt ceiling has affected the net work of each of you….and many others. I believe that you wanted the Big Deal or Grand Bargain, but decided to go for GRAND THEFT instead. You would have be a dope to get our nation in the financial condition that it is in without doing it deliberately. So far, you have been pulling off the Cloward-Piven Strategy of over-loading the economic system of the United States so that it eventually collapses. NO RAISING THE DEBT CEILING! Try spending less; you will get to like it.

Sigh… No, that’s not what that means. Raising the debt ceiling means letting the Treasury hold an auction so it can finance the debts Congress has already appropriated.

I am willing to make a bet with you that if we audited your accounts, the various accounts of Geithner and George Soros, that raising the debt ceiling has affected the net worth of each of you

I’ll take that bet. Let’s make it $5,000, shall we? Obama’s tax returns are public record, and Geithner published his tax returns during his confirmation process, so this should be relatively straightforward. Do we have a bet?

        koolnightes,
The woman who cries out about the government keeping their hands off of her Medicare is saying something sensible. The funds were set up as Trustee Accounts to which she is a beneficiary to the funds, because she contributed to the TRUSTS. It is illegal to mishandle Trustee Funds. They are to be used for the beneficiaries only. A white box was found in the bottom of a white file cabi-
net in West Virginia, when the Bureau of Public Debt was moved there during the Cold War. The white box was filled with IOU’s from the Treasury, instead of bonds that should have been purchased for the beneficiaries. The Managing Trustee was the Secretary of Treasury. AP wrote an article about this. The IOU’s totaled over $1,000,000,000,000 ($1T).

    HOUSE
REPUBLICANS TAKE AIM AT THE HUNGRY

    Thom’s
    blog

    WHO
DO YOU KNOW ON FOOD STAMPS?

    The
United States House of Representatives is in the midst of a food stamp
showdown. House Republicans want to slash the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program by nearly $40 billion dollars, and House Democrats are fighting it with
all their might. The drastic cuts are almost ten times the amount approved by
the U.S. Senate in June as part of the farm bill. At that time, House
Republicans stripped food assistance out of the their version of the farm bill,
and approved about $200 billion in subsidies for big corporate farms.

    While
the drastic cuts proposed by the House would never be approved by the
democratically-controlled Senate, they show just how little some lawmakers care
about their fellow Americans. If these harsh cuts were ever enacted, the House
plan would eliminate SNAP benefits for 3.5 million hungry Americans,
and eliminate states’ ability to wave work requirements during times of high
unemployment. In other words, no matter how bad our economy ever got, the House
plan would force millions of people to go hungry.

    House
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the cuts “a new low” for
Republicans, and said that all 200 House democrats plan to vote against the
proposal. If House Republicans manage to pass these drastic cuts, they will
still have to negotiate a compromise with Senate Democrats. And, the upper
chamber has sharply criticized the House’s cuts as inhumane. Senate Agriculture
Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow said, “What the House Republicans are
saying is this: Get a good-paying job or your family will just have to go
hungry.” As this debate heats up, millions of Americans are calling
Congress, and telling lawmakers to protect this vital program that so many rely
    on.

Friends and family that are receiving foodstamps are already getting letters about it and the letters telling them to expect ANOTHER letter later within this month as to how much will be deducted from their next foodstamp payments.

Is there anybody not on food stamps? Over doubled under Obuma. Did you know we are over about 90 TRILLION in outstanding obligations. paying interest on 17 trillion of debt. Five years ago this week, the financial markets
collapsed, causing enormous pain for millions of Americans who lost their
homes, their jobs and their savings. The primary cause was the greed,
recklessness and illegal behavior on Wall Street. Five years later, those who
caused the collapse at the major banks are now doing phenomenally well while
millions of Americans still struggle to make ends meet. Job growth has been
slow and wages have been stagnant. Today, incredibly, median family income is

A new report makes clear that the inequality
gap in the United States has only gotten worse in the years since the
economic collapse. “The top 1 percent captured 95 percent of the income
gains in the first three years of the recovery,” according to a new
report, titled “Striking it Richer” by prominent economists
Emmanuel Saez and Thomas Piketty. The New York Times summarized the report’s
findings: “The figures underscore that even after the recession the
country remains in a new Gilded Age, with income as concentrated as it was in
the years that preceded the Depression of the 1930s, if not more so.”

    Report: Striking it Richer
    The Fed and Full Employment
President Obama will soon nominate a
replacement for Ben Bernanke as chairman of the Federal Reserve. The list got
shorter with the withdrawal on Sunday of Lawrence Summers, a leading
proponent of Wall Street deregulation who had drawn opposition from Bernie
and other senators. “What the American people want now is a Fed chairman
prepared to stand up to the greed, recklessness and illegal behavior on Wall
Street, not a Wall Street insider whose deregulation efforts helped pave the
way for a horrendous financial crisis and the worst economic downturn in the
country since the Great Depression,” Bernie said after Summers took his
name out of contention. “The Fed now must help develop policies which
create millions of decent-paying jobs and rebuild the middle class.”

Much of that greed as you noted was caused by the government to begin with. Had Glass-Steagall not been overturned by the government, then commercial and investment banking would still have been legally separate. For the record, Larry Summers was one of the cavemen who promoted the dissolution of that law.

Additionally, as originally promoted by HUD secretary Cuomo to then President Clinton, every American should have a shot at the “American Dream”. Simply, that meant a version of federal subsidies through Fannie and Freddie which made ever increasing percentages of loans at highly competitive rates and with increasingly loosened lending standards. The liberals loved this program to death–salivating at the growing amount of grateful voters who would worship at their altar of burgeoning bureaucracy. The downside was that private industry had to compete in order to stay viable. And the downward concentric spiral was born as the financial system became overrun with truckloads of worthless paper during the first economic slowdown. Yes, that all firmly rests at the feet of people who were driven by touchy-feely politics rather than steely cold heartless economic fact.

Don’t look beyond the well-intentioned socialist ideology of Washingtonians in finding the genesis of the housing crisis and its Great Recession. You just might find that the truth is too ugly for you to bear.

        The Misery
Trick: Republican Bait-and-Switch on the Budget

        Republicans
are playing a trick on people
with the negotiations over the budget
and threats to shut down the government. On the one hand, they are threatening
to shut down the government over “Obamacare.” On the other hand, aside from
Obamacare defunding, they are offering a terrible “keep the government
running” budget resolution that doubles down on the terrible “sequester”
austerity cuts – while actually increasing spending for military.

And this doesn’t even include a $40 billion cut to the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – known as “food stamps.”

        These are
real people, real families and real businesses on the line. They will be badly
hurt if Obamacare is killed, badly hurt by a shutdown or badly, badly hurt by
these cuts. And this is all so taxes can be lower for the 1
percent. These are the choices offered to America by these extremist
        Republicans.

The Deficit Is Still Bad News

      By
      Michael D. Tanner
This article appeared in National Review (Online) on June 12, 2013.

To listen to much of the mainstream media recently, one would assume that the battle against the national debt has been won.

First came a report from the Congressional Budget Office indicating
that budget deficits over the next few years would be lower than
previously predicted and that, therefore, the national debt would be
growing more slowly. Next was the report from the trustees of Social
Security and Medicaresuggesting that those programs were in slightly
better shape — or at least no worse shape — than they were last year.

Happy days are here again. Let the good times — and the spending — roll.

But before we break out the champagne, we might want to look beyond the headlines.

Let’s start with that CBO report. It is true that the recovery
(anemic as it is) has meant higher government revenues. In fact, federal
tax collections are projected to reach 18.3 percent of GDP by 2014,
back to the historical average. (So much for blaming the Bush tax cuts
for ripping a hole in the federal balance sheet.)

At the same time, the much-derided sequester, combined with the
winding down of the 2008 stimulus bill and the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, has slowed the growth in spending. As a result, projected
budget deficits will shrink to as low as $378 billion in 2015, some $52
      billion lower than previous estimates.

This reprieve is only temporary. After that nadir in 2015, deficits
start growing again. By 2023, they will be on a steadily rising
trajectory, approaching $900 billion a year.

Overall, the CBO projects our national debt to increase by $851
billion less over the next ten years than projected last year — which
seems like a cause for celebration, except that it will still rise by
$8.5 trillion over the same time period, reaching $25.23 trillion by
      2023.

As for Social Security: According to the trustees, the year of
official insolvency — the date at which the Social Security trust fund
will be exhausted and the program legally required to cut benefits by
roughly 23 percent — remains 2033. While that hasn’t gotten worse, it
remains pretty bad news for those aged 44 and younger.

More significant, the program’s cash-flow shortfall actually
increased to $169 billion in 2012. Social Security continues to run a
deficit every year, and while the expiration of the payroll-tax cut will
lead to a smaller deficit in 2013, the program will continue to
consistently run substantial annual cash deficits. That yearly deficit
is actually the best measure of the program’s finances, since the trust
fund that covers the gap is simply an accounting measure to reflect the
fact that general revenues are technically owed to Social Security.

The program’s long-term liabilities, reflecting the future deficits
above what’s owed to the trust fund, continue to increase. The present
value of the program’s liabilities over an infinite horizon now totals
$23.1 trillion, $2.6 trillion worse than last year. That
accounting-speak means that if you could put $23.1 trillion in the bank
today, and it earned 3 percent interest, you would have enough money
(together with future taxes) to pay all future Social Security benefits.
Of course, as you may have noticed, the federal government doesn’t have
a spare $23 trillion lying around.

Medicare’s short-term outlook actually did improve slightly in the
most recent report — very slightly. For example, the date at which
the Medicare Part A Trust Fund will be exhausted was pushed back by two
      years to 2026.

This change is due to a slowdown in the growth rate for health-care
costs over the last few years. As a result, spending per beneficiary has
grown by just 1.7 percent annually since 2010, slower, in fact, than
either inflation generally or GDP growth. But health-care economists are
unable to say why this slowdown has occurred or how long it will
continue. Until recently, many thought the primary factor was the
recession, which traditionally holds down health-care spending. But
recent evidence suggests that the slowing of health costs began before
the recession and has continued even after it ended. That suggests there
may be other, unidentified factors behind the slowdown (contrary to
some liberal commentators, there is no evidence to suggest that
Obamacare has had more than the most marginal impact), so there is some
slender hope that costs can stay under control for some time to come.

But even without high cost inflation, the continued growth in the
number of Medicare beneficiaries led to a $900 billion overall increase
in the program’s unfunded liabilities. Medicare Part A’s liabilities
decreased by $1.3 trillion, but that was more than offset by increases
in the liabilities of Part B ($900 billion) and Part D ($1.3 trillion).
All of this really represents a best-case scenario, counting, for
example, future projected Obamacare savings, even though few experts
      believe they will actually occur.

Looking at all three of these “good” reports, total U.S. indebtedness
tops at least $83.9 trillion. That’s still an awfully big burden to
pass on to our children and grandchildren, more than enough to stifle
economic growth, and a pretty good reason to cancel the victory party.

        Capitalism’s Triumph

Is unregulated capitalism like a cancer
to the immune system of society?

”John McMurtry, professor of philosophy at the University
of Guelph (Ontario, Canada)” in this essay, states that the rampant growth of global capitalism, like
cancer, threatens to break down our society’s immune system, and if not soon
restrained could reverse all the progress that has been made toward social
        equity (socialism) and stability.

There are some transnational corporations which, according to
the Business News Insider (among other sources), have a larger annual budget than the GDP
of some nations, and with that kind of budget, can influence governments
(despotic and democratic alike) to make laws favorable to their interests no
matter what the cost to society. How can these corporations be regulated, or
        should they be?

The absolute amount of deficit spending is shrinking when compared to the exorbitant spending spree of Obama’s first two years when Harry and Nancy ruled the roost. There were no prepared budgets, and no amount of money seemed too large to allocate toward even the most hair-brained appropriations. So, yes, by comparison the numbers have come down because the Obamaites spent like drunken sailors when they made that benchmark.

Obama himself is an economic illiterate whose knowledge seems to extend no further than the reading distance to his teleprompter. Once the wasteful spenders in the legislature are diminished in number, then Congress can begin to right the economic ship of state so that the Federal Reserve Bank doesn’t have to do the heavy lifting against all odds.

Don’t be so anxious to crown your messiah as an economic hero just as he’s becoming comfortable wearing the dunce cap.

      • koolnightes

You have your head stuck so far up lil’ bush’s butt I am surprised you even know who the president is.
If you think Jan. 2009 was a bed of roses when Obama took office.. and if you think that congress has worked with Obama since 2010…. there is really no since talking with you!
That money that Obama spent when he took over was called a stimulus… ask the Auto industry if it worked? And don’t stop with Detroit, check the suppliers down the line. Also.. you can check with Ryan if the stimulus helped his district and ask Cantor. even McConnell…. sure they tell the public what a waste and how it didn’t work… but back home they stick their chest out and say… see how many jobs I have created?
I think the term is called Two-faced

      • Rowdy

You are absolutely correct the congress has not worked right along with Osatan since 2010. That is how the system is supposed to work. Checks and balances. Have you ever heard of that before. They have had to work pretty hard, at the insistence of the people to try their best to reign in Osatan’s spending. That is the only reason that we have seen a small reduction in the deficit.

Stimulus huh. Yep it stimulated the bankers. Put car manufacturers out of business so as to benefit the foreign car companies. Closed down dealerships because they weren’t in the family tree. But we took care of them bankers that caused this whole mess. They tell you that it didn’t work, because it didn’t. I forget the figures now but it was astounding. If we took the money they took from us to pay out to their corporate interests and divided it among the workers that paid for it they would have each gotten something like $167,000.00, now that would have been a stimulus, but they took it and gave it to corporations, some in foreign countries and to the bankers also some in other countries, now that is two faced.

    • Rowdy

There is some left hand logic for ya. If you are so stupid as to listen to the CBO when it comes to figures about our nations debt, then you better get set up with some oxygen and a ventilator cause your to stupid to breathe. Ok so lets assume that the deficit is going down then why would we need to raise the debt ceiling. Maybe because they want the all clear to spend more. Ah bulls – - t. We all know exactly what is happening to our country and we don’t need the crony crap from the likes of you. Yes I know exactly why I don’t like Osatan. And there isn’t enough room on this blog for the list.

      • koolnightes

Talk about stupid… the debt ceiling is what CONGRESS has already spent… PAY YOUR BILLS!
As for CBO… who do you suggest… breitbart? fox? Limbaugh? beck?

      • Rowdy

No, you stupid F -. the debt ceiling is the maximum amount that the Gov as a whole is allowed to spend. It is more like Don’t spend (create more bills) more than you can pay for.

Well lets see now. Those suggestions would probably be better than the CBO. A government agency monitoring the government. That is like asking the wolf to guard the hen house from the fox. And we are supposed to believe the wolf when he says he was asleep when the fox ate all the chickens. Even when he has feathers all over him. Maybe a private accounting firm, ah but the government wouldn’t allow that. Secrets ya know. That information is classified and you can’t know about it. Right, it is just our money and we have no right to even know what it is being spent on, let alone have anything to say about how it is spent. Hell they haven’t even had a budget for five years let alone live by it. And you don’t think they are out of control. Fund osatan care or I will shut down the government. Holy crap is it really that simple. That would be the best thing that could happen. Shut it down. That would give us a chance to put some real leadership in there that can run this country somewhere besides down the drain.

      • koolnightes

well you dumbshit… no wonder you are a republican…

The Debt Ceiling Pays Off Money That Republicans Already Spent
Federal law requires Congress to authorize the government to borrow the
money needed to pay for the programs that Congress has passed. In other
words, Republicans in Congress are threatening to refuse to pay off
their own bills by raising the debt ceiling.

        http://www.?politicususa.?com/2013/01/05/debt-ceiling-money-borrowed.html

And to further your ignorance listen to Boner..

        http://www.?youtube.?com/watch?v=C4VJFVgrlyI

      • Rowdy

Oh really: I see how it works now. The Dumbocraps don’t spend any money. Only the Republicans spend our money. If we would just fire all the Repub’s we could run the country for free. Pretty much sounds like a progressive liberal socialist ditwad.

Progressives never cease to amaze me. Raising the debt ceiling does not pay off anything. Just allows them to spend more without paying anything. Or I guess you understand things from the viewpoint of Osatan. “raising the debt ceiling does not increase our debt”.

You see I do have a REAL perspective of the issue. I have balanced a budget for my family household for 50+ years now. I also have had a budget for two different businesses that I have ran for a total of 26 years, And guess what, I always kept everything within those budgets. Works great, no debt ceiling required.

And just like a true progressive who’s head is full of nothing but hot air. Both links go nowhere. You got your s – - t together huh. Basically don’t know up from down. In fact my up seems to be your down and so on. enough of you too. Like all of your type all of your logic and reasoning has a bar over it (inverted) or (NOT) So long you invisible smuck

    • TBI

Because it has been run up so high any increased revenue from the rich will drop the deficit somewhat, but not to worry he will spend that income from these new taxes soon.

    • http://www.yahoo.com/ wyatt48

You aren’t following a leader. You are listening to and believing the lies and disinformation by the media. They have been in his pocket for years. The deficit is only the overage they spend over the amount of what they have to spend. The debit id piling up faster than any previous presidents. Most Americans don’t know the deficit is shrinking is because it isn’t. You are the one who need to be informed of the truth. Not just propaganda.

      • koolnightes

I have a set of values.. I believe every one should have a chance.. I think everyone should be able to go as far as they want to go in education…. some people hate school and have trouble staying in through high school.. but those that want to better themselves, they should have that right. I do not believe the top 1% did so with an honest deck… some.. like the Koch brothers inherited… the Bible has a 50 year jubilee, at the end of 50 years all debt is wiped clean and the property goes back to the last owner… no such thing as a life long burden of debt. So I choose my leader that is the closest to the way I believe… It seems your party loves to strap on the debt…and at the same time take away means to pay for that debt… and that goes to the people as well as to the government…. you have this asinine idea if you keep cutting long enough and had enough you will cut your way out of debt…. has never happened and will never happen… look to Europe for and example of your austerity.
I gave you a website that says the debt is shrinking…. and you… say no it’s not… now who should I believe? Mr. wyatt would he lie to me? in a heart

      • DCW16

“I choose my leader that is the closest to the way I believe.”

Scarey ! A marxist mooslime with zero experience at anything . . .

“look to Europe for and example of your austerity.”

Europe is BROKE . . . austerity is what you get when you run out of money before you run out of month ! ! !

The massive deficits of the last 5 years are just nuts, the Fed is still printing 85 Billion a Month . . . but it is the DEBT that will collapse the entire country . . . and then we will have austerity just like Europe.

    • maddad1947

Please explain How the Deficit can be shrinking: Yet the National Debt has grown to well over $17 Trillion dollars under Obama. Are you trying to play word games or just number games? A debt is a debt and by any other name it smells the same.

  • jdbixii

What kind of “bubble” does he live in? If the raising of the debt ceiling did not increase the debt, there would be no point or need to raise it. The “ceiling” is defined as the maximum, allowable level of debt. What credit card holder gets to set the amount of his “credit line?”

  • mjnellett

Obama has just shown his complete ineptness about ANYTHING economic, or financial. He must of skipped Econ. 101 at Harvard, or flunked it.

Moron-In-Chief. I guess the Indonesian schools that he attended didn’t do a very good job of teaching math.

  • TBI

Buying the votes of America’s underclass and designated victim groups is expensive. Raising the debt ceiling is just another way to confiscate the earned wealth from working white people and transferring it to the undeserving.

  • sovereigntyofone

Do you think if I sent a letter to my credit card company and told them that increasing my credit limit would not increase the debt that I owe them? Well, if we go by most people’s spending habits if they increase your credit limit, ultimately, sooner or later you will use it. The same goes for our government.
And with our Commander ” spendaholic ” in chief, you know if you give it (increasing the debt ceiling ) to him, he will blow it. All one has to do is look at our national debt when Obama took office and what it is now, it doesn’t take a PHD in math to figure out the answer. But once again Obama likes to ” play ” with words in hope that the ” useful idiots ” will fall for it.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

    • Rowdy

If we would just increase the debt ceiling it would allow him to supply more weapons to his comrades, the Muslim brotherhood, nursa, al qaeda, the rebels. But not one cent more to replace what they have stolen from medicare, social security, or to repay the taxation without representation that has been levied against the people he so despises.

  • frankenbiker

Obviously he’s referring to demoncraps. People so freaking stupid as to believe this liar. Raising the debt ceiling DOES increase our debt, and he knows it. But, if you lie often enough and the same lie over and over again, stupid people start to believe it. He’s a fool and so is anyone that voted for his agenda.

  • kyrunner

It is obvious to me this guy NEVER took one economics class in his entire college experience. He must have been smoking dope and hanging out with his Latino, Chicano and other leftist friends at the local coffee shop too many days. I learned more about economics in my first Econ 101 class than this guy has ever thought about or heard about in his entire life. We are being lead by an economic moron.

    • CommonSenseFanatic

“We are being lead by an economic moron.”

I wouldn’t limit my assessment to the economic sphere. He is an utter and complete moron. God help us.

  • James

This is so typical of democratic lying and is leveled at college students that have not learned to think for themselves. Our college students just accept whatever the Professor says as being true, and the democrats blindly accept whatever their party leaders tell them as truth. Both of these groups know that the secret to a good lie is to stay close to the truth. So technically the raising of the debt limit itself does not raise the debt, but it allows you to borrow more money which does raise the debt. Now if you apply a little reasoning here, why would you need to raise the debt limit if you do not intend to or need to
borrow more money? I am amazed at the number of people that do not recognize these little word games that Obama plays so often.

  • Que Dub

Anybody that would believe nobamma’s teleprompter readings wrote by his 6 mushlum top advisors, has real mental illness !!! the picture of “thing” shows him looking at t he teleprompter. There’s 2 of them, LH & a RH one. That’s why he always looks left , then right.

Lies, propaganda, whatever, it makes no difference to democrats who spew this nonsense. Unfortunately, it also makes no difference to the useful idiots who support the subversion of America and vote for Dear Leader and his merry band of marxists.

  • EKII

I am not surprised at this comment by Obama. This is the sort of garbage and double-talk we have come to expect from him.

  • Brenda

Amazing, “raising the debe limit does not increase our debt it just pays bills racked up by congress”. Then maybe the answer is for congress to stop racking up debt. If raising the debt limt only pays for past bills, then why is it necessary to repeat this action every year?

  • Discusted

Just whom is the Lying Muslim SOB trying to fool this time ?

      • ezekiel22

Kool, I kinda had to laugh at what Obama said. You see if by raising the debt ceiling does not increase our debt then why do we have to keep raising it? Would it not be much simpler to not raise the debt ceiling and stop spending at that limit? People which includes Congress barely, have a habit of spending more as more is available.
What is the worse that could happen? the congressional gym gets closed or Air Force One runs out of fuel? LOL. You will notice that when cuts are made to budgets that those cuts are made to areas that will affect people more than the elite.

Once again, obama proves that he can’t open his mouth without lying, How dam ignorant do you
think the average person is to believe such a B/S statement which obama has just delivered in this

crap, and then expects people to believe him. Wow this over arrogant son of a monkey faced
moron needs to be back in Africa swinging in the trees somewhere, did you catch the statement he made when he said “His administration” Which I’m sure is quite true between his intimidations
and bribes he “obama” has influenced and swayed many politicians from one side of politics to his
way of thinking and has done so at any cost with money being not an issue while securing an
under the table votes through treachery and trickery creating people to be totally dependent on
government handouts and securing future and present votes through illegal aliens crossing over
the borders into our government under the presumption of political amnesties which in my opinion
makes this president nothing less than a political whore whom will go to no extent to get his way
at any cost or by any means possible, which in my opinion shows a clear and present picture of
a dictator whom only pretends to be a leader, It is my opinion that this man is politically as useless
as tit’s on a bore hog.

He must have let Pelosi post the script to his teleprompter.

  • depaz

If there’s no new spending on the horizon, then why does the ceiling need to be raised? And how did we get so CLOSE to the debt ceiling if spending didn’t INCREASE every time it’s raised? For somebody who is supposed to be so smart (and we know this because Chris Matthews says it’s so), he sure is dumb.
