ObamaCare May Raise Cost of Paraplegics’ Exoskeleton

The stuff of science fiction has become a reality for those who it may impact the most. The robotic exoskeleton gives hope to people suffering from paralysis and multiple sclerosis – that is, if the government doesn’t screw it up.

Fox News’ John Roberts spoke to Michael Gore, a man who was left paralyzed from the waist down from a 12-foot fall 10 years ago. Remarkably, Gore was able to stand up for the first time thanks to the exoskeleton.

This incredible robot called is one of three devices being tested for commercial production. The first step is to make them available in clinics, where they may be subjected to the ObamaCare’s tax on medical devices.

Craig Maxwell of Parker Hannifin Corp. which is developing this product told Roberts, “It doesn’t make sense to us. You don’t want to do anything that would slow down the commercialization of a product like this.”
