Coulter: Christie ‘hoping to use Obama to plug a dike’

Conservative pundit and noted Chris Christie fan Ann Coulter weighed in on the New Jersey governor’s praise and welcoming of President Barack Obama to his hurricane ravaged state, Wednesday.

“I think he’s hoping to use Obama to plug a dike,” Coulter, the author of the new book “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama,” wrote in a brief email to The Daily Caller.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Christie, a surrogate to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and normally harsh Obama critic, has been heaping praise on the Democratic president for his response to Hurricane Sandy.

“The president has been all over this, and he deserves great credit,” Christie said on MSNBC Tuesday. “He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything and he absolutely means it, and it’s been very good working with the president and his administration.”
