An epitaph to the tragic election results
Yesterday America shot itself in the foot. It missed a golden opportunity to elect a very good man and his very good policies that would help to heal America of its economic and moral problems.
But when I say “America”, I primarily mean American urban cities, where large concentrations of votes exist … at least enough to overpower the rest of America. And the tragic thing about this is that when talking to democrats – even their leaders – it is rarely an intelligent and peaceful conversation. While we have intelligence and solutions on our side, they just mainly come on with emotions and name-calling. Hardly a mindset to fix problems. But there we have it. That’s what we’re dealing with. And it’s amazing to see a little over half of such a huge country being so blind as to not be able to see through the lies and incompetence of the democrats.
A lot of second-guessing is going on now about Mitt Romney and whether he was the best candidate. But I’m now tending to default to this election result as having Biblical overtones. Here’s what I mean.
If the Bible’s predictions of what the end times scenario is to be like is to come to pass, that means there is a central theme: an all-out attack on Jerusalem has to take place. So then how would that happen? Well, Israel’s main ally, the United States, would need to back off on its protection of Israel (which Obama has been doing). And it would also have to not take to the limit its restraints of Israel’s enemies (primarily the Muslim world). Well, such a scenario is going on. Iran wants to destroy Israel. And Obama doesn’t want to get tough with Iran. And even Iran says that part of its motivation is to bring on the end of the world so that Allah could purify humanity. Well that’s also what the Bible says the reason for the destruction of the Earth is for. God did this once before with a flood. This time it says that the destruction will be with fire. And the way that could play out is with nuclear attacks. It almost seems like that is the theme of many of the current movies … destruction of cities … like humanity senses a coming apocalypse. (I don’t go to see those movies, I just am going by the trailers of them that are in television commercials. But I won’t be even seeing those commercials anymore because my main interest in television was the hope of seeing the country healed with a Romney win).
So given all that I just said, maybe this is how the election was supposed to turn out. Maybe God just wants to get on now with the next step. And just like He blinded Pharaoh to get on to that next step of His “chosen people” getting to a homeland … and just like He blinded the Jews so that Jesus’ sacrifice and message could get to the whole world, we might be looking at the culmination of the blinding of Obama voters so that we can get on to the next step … the destruction of Earth and the creation of what the book of Revelation calls a New Earth. But it is satan (“the god of this age”) who has done the blinding this time, and much of humanity is complicit in that it has gone along with him. 2Corinthians 4:2-4, “by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel.” And that blinding and veiling is being done by the secular mainstream censoring God and the Bible out of its institutions: public schools, media, government and entertainment.
Here’s another thing that struck me during my desire to work towards a Romney victory. Revelations 21:8, “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Notice how the “cowardly” are lumped in with what are normally considered to be the most vile of sinners. And I see so many Christians as being cowardly. For example in my Bible study groups, we are told to not speak about politics. But isn’t politics where the Biblical rubber meets the worldly road? Along with our personal lives, what more important place is there to apply what we learn in the Bible and through God’s Spirit in us? Plus there is a muzzle on preachers to not endorse candidates (which was slightly removed in October). Besides in the personal conversations in our lives, what else could that Bible verse mean by “cowardly”? Also in that verse are what all people are guilty of whose praises and life focuses are on things other than God (e.g. entertainers, sports, politicians, etc.) … that is: “idolators”.
So I did what I could to help bring about what could have been a major upgrade for our country. And I did so very passionately and intelligently, as you might know from my previous articles and books. But now I will just focus on my work to still help bring about the biggest possible upgrade for our country and individual lives: knowing and uniting with God. And here’s what it comes down to: either the Bible is true or it isn’t. I’ve proven in every way possible that it is.
