Rick Santorum won the Louisiana primary Saturday as project, solidify his support from conservative in the Deep South but still faces a tough next few weeks as he competes in Northern states where frontrunner Mitt Romney has done well.

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, won 49 percent of the vote, compared to 26 percent for Romney, 17 percent for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and 6 percent for Texas GOP Rep. Ron Paul, with more than half of precincts reporting.
