Santorum looks for bayou bounce in Louisiana primary

Rick Santorum is charging into the Louisiana primary Saturday holding onto a healthy lead in the polls as he looks to shake off his latest losses to Mitt Romney — though the underdog presidential candidate was still running into problems over his own campaign trail rhetoric.

The former Pennsylvania senator’s blunt comments on higher education and the separation of church and state briefly tripped up his candidacy last month. But as Santorum tried to hammer the Romney campaign this week over its own verbal missteps — a comment by an aide about Etch a Sketches — Santorum drew scrutiny on Friday after suggesting voters would choose President Obama over Romney if the GOP front-runner were to win the nomination.
