Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize Leads to Formal Investigation Of Award Winners

Nobel Peace Prize officials were facing a formal inquiry over accusations they have drifted away from the prize’s original selection criteria by choosing such winners as President Barack Obama, as the nomination deadline for the 2012 awards closed Wednesday.

The investigation comes after persistent complaints by a Norwegian peace researcher that the original purpose of the prize was to diminish the role of military power in international relations.

If the Stockholm County Administrative Board, which supervises foundations in Sweden’s capital, finds that prize founder Alfred Nobel’s will is not being honored, it has the authority to suspend award decisions going back three years – though that would be unlikely and unprecedented, said Mikael Wiman, a legal expert working for the county.

    The Nobel Prize is an utter sham. Why give a prize to Obama at the beginning of his presidency, when he had not accomplished anything except sitting in an Anti-Semitic and Anti-American church for 20 years and not saying a word. Why give a prize to murderer, terrorist Yasser Arafat. The Norwegians should do away with these prizes as they are utterly worthless. Including the one to Jimmy Carter who gave away Iran to the mullahs. The Norwegians are now getting what they deserve for being Quislings in WWII.

    As a scientist I coveted the Nobel prize my entire life until they awarded the prizes to: Yassar(spp) Arafat, Al Gore, and Obama. The Prize, especially the Peace Prize, has become a political statement of ultra liberals on the committee. I covet it no longer.

    Prizes should never be awarded on expectations. Merit is the only measure for awards, no merit and the award isn't worth the paper/medal it's printed on. Someone seems to get it in Norway, finally.

      Pawatcher I agree wholeheartedly but you must realize this is the common practise today in schools and youth competitions in order to "GIVE THEM SELF ESTEEM". Sure worked on this guy and he believes he deserves it.

    Let us hope this is just the beginning of a grievous error that started three years ago. We are long overdue for an investigation of all he has done over the past 34 years and if it exonorates him fine, but living with this doubt is bad for all. The truth will set you free. The news is supposed to give light with all the facts and let us find our own way. I feel we have neither light nor truth.

    Dear Conservative Byte Readers:

    The Nobel Committee needs to review the criterion by which it prize recipients are selected. Somehow it seems wrongheaded to aware the prize in the hope that it will encourage recipients toward noble work. PAWatcher is, in my opinion, correct to indicate the need for meritorious awards.

    President Obama may not be the miscreant that some present him to be; but he has extended President Bush' wars, initiated new wars, and seems determined on confrontation with Iran and other nations as well.

    How this conforms to a serious commitment to peace is not apparent to me.

    Once they gave the Nobel Prize to our criminal lying fraud of a muslim teleprompter-in-chief just after he took office I knew it was a sham and a joke. If ever there was someone who didn't deserve this once prestigious prize it is barry hussein ovomit!! It means nothing and I think the man who originated this coveted prize would probably be agast that it went to this fraud usurper barry hussein!! This needs to be investigated thourghly!

    The Nobel Peace Prize has become a "political tool" for socialists to award each other! The very idea of awarding the N.P.P. to Barack Obama before he had done anything to deserve it, has shown the entire world just how "hollow" this "award" really is. There are many candidates around the world who have actually done something to deserve this award. Barack Obama was not one of them! The only thing Obama has done regarding "peace in the world" is to put further from reach by his policies of doing little or nothing against those who threaten it, like Iran.

    I am still trying to figure out what exactly he (Obama) did to even earn a recommendation for a nomination for a Peace Prize when he was busy expanding the war. Nobody seems to care,as long as the Annointed One gets his undue credit for things he never did.

    It was most disturbing that obama received the Nobel Peace Prize–which the panel seemed to think was okay to provide such a treasure to a person who “MIGHT” do the world some good. As we can see, he never did anyone any good, but he has shown himself to be inept, divisive, insulting, degrading, racist, anti-semetic, anti-christian, anti-American——–among other things. There may not be a precedent for taking the award back, but they should do this where obama, arafat, and gore are concerned because not one of them has done anything to instill or promote peace anywhere in this world. To not take the award back is to make a mockery of what the Nobel Peace Prize stands for–an honorable award for those who DESERVE it.

    Mad Mike is absolutely right. Once upon a time the Nobel prize really meant something. That was before it got under control of the “world improvers” who ruined it by passing it to each other like it was a “doobie”. The fact that Al Gore “won” the prize over a woman who saved about 600-700 Jewish babies by smuggling them out of her plumbing truck past Nazi guards, was caught near the end of the war and almost tortured to death shows the prize is nothing more than a sham.

    If that theiving fricken clown wins that prize again then it most definitely needs to be investigated as we saw in 2008 that clown won the prize for what? he damn sure did’nt deserve to win it he did’nt do anything to earn it its just stupid I guess next they will award a prize to bin ladin it just goes to show that anybody can be bought off,I thought only people who pursued peace through peaceful means won these prizes
