Marco Rubio “Is Supposedly Representing Hispanic Issues,” Harry Reid Says

Majority Leader Harry Reid’s suggestion that the job of Florida Senator Marco Rubio is to represent Hispanics nationally raised some eyebrows this morning.

“In Nevada, [ambassadorial nominee Mari Carmen Aponteis seen by the Puerto Rican community, the Hispanic community, as really somebody who is an up-and-rising star. … I just think it’s a mistake for someone who is supposedly representing Hispanic issues to do what [Rubio] has done,” Reid told POLITICO’s Glenn Thrush.

BuzzFeed asked Rubio spokesman Alex Conant what he made of the implication that Rubio “is supposedly representing Hispanic issues.”

“Senator Rubio represents Florida,” he replied.

A conservative Hispanic group sharply criticized Reid’s comment.

    If I’m not mistaken, Reid and Pelosi represented all americans when they signed off on Obamacare. Reid should just back off and return to Nevada, he is anti-american and an ultra-liberal.

    Harry Reid and others who think like him, need a historical review of TRUE Hispanic issues and stop dwelling on inane matters.

    They can start by understanding that what is happening in Venezuela , started way before Hugo Chavez.
    Then Vice-President Nixon was almost wasted , during a state visit to that country in 1958,
    the question to ask is, WHY?

    While we fixate on matters of no real consequence , our enemies are slowly making inroads into Latin America in ways that will make the Cuban Missle Crisis pale in comparison.

    Marco Rubio has more power in the tip of his little finger than Reid does in the whole state of Nevada, especially when it comes to hispanic votes, and the way they will vote in Nov.
