Oklahoma’s proposed anti-abortion Senate Bill 1433 states a fetus “at every stage of development (has) all the rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens, and residents of this state.”

In response, pro-choice Oklahoma State Senator Constance Johnson introduced an amendment to the bill that read: “However, any action in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman’s vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child.”

Oklahoma State Senator Constance Johnson introduced a bill banning masturbation. Well, a man ejaculating or depositing semen anywhere but in the woman’s vagina IS condemed in the Bible. It IS an action against the Creator — “against an unborn child.” Maybe she was inspired by God to introduce this legislation. The Bible says it is better for a man to deposit his semen in a ‘whore’ than to throw it out onto the ground. IT IS an affront to the Creator, Constance Johnson. Just like brutally murdering millions and millions of innocent, helpless unborn Americans is a grave offense against the Creator. It’s not a ‘choice’ it’s a child!! Once a person chooses to have sex that’s their final choice. They’ve already made their choice. They have NO right to kill that conceived baby they chose to make. If you don’t want a child, then don’t make one!!! And if you make a mistake and conceive a child; you have to face the consequences of your action.         Carol, while it is likely a spiritual issue masturbate due to the lust involved outside marriage, you really ought to look more carefully at Gen. 38 by reading reading verses 6-11. This was a story, not about spilling seed, but about obedience to God and his family to provide an heir for his dead brother. By spilling his seed, he disobeyed God and God killed him for his evil.
        
        Unfortunately, many folks fail to read the context and assume this passage condemns masturbation, when in fact it illustrates the seriousness of disobedience to God.

Simply put, it takes both the sperm and egg joined together to bring about human life.     There is a “fix” for everything. Just think like the guberment that makes silly laws.
    Think of it this way- out of the millions of sperm let loose, only ONE is going to “make it to the finish line”. Please read the whole context to understand why that applied to this one man that spilled his seed on the ground. What’s at stake in Oklahoma’s Senate Bill 1433 is nothing less than acknowledging the most primary human right guaranteed by the Constitution (and natural law), that all are obliged to act in ways that acknowledge that it is right that any innocent person’s life not be taken by another human being.

State Senator Constance Johnson, on the contrary, is not only mocking this fundamental obligation and right. She is doing so by stupidly equating primitive understandings of conception and male sperm with contemporary embryological evidence, as well as revealing her own (and that of most presumptuous and arrogant politicians who want to use governmental power to regulate every human action) lack of understanding of the Constitution and the proper limits of government.

This has nothing to do with the so-called ‘sin of Onan’ referred to in Genesis, about which many biblical scholars dispute.

Then I’d read the posts at the end of the article and shake my head in sadness that people could be so silly and shallow. The context of Genesis 38:9-10 in not about masturbation or spilling one’s seed on the ground.

According to Torah (God’s instructions on living a righteous life, the first 5 books of the Bible) Onan because his brother died childless is required to take his brothers wife to him and conceive an heir for his brother. The first born gets his father’s inheiritance, continues his line and also relates to the land given by God to the tribe so it continues to remain the possesion of the individuals of the tribe. So the context is not about masturbation or Onan spilling his seed on the ground. It’s about Onan disobeying God’s command to conceive a child with his brother’s wife so Onan’s name and line and inheritance would continue on in the land of his tribe.

After two years of study, the lay commission voted 60 to 4, and the cardinals 9 to 6, to change the position on birth control, even though it would mean a loss of papal authority, because it did not involve any kind of physical barrier like the condom and because it was the right thing to do. The co-author of that report was a Polish archbishop, Karol Wojtyla, who later became Pope John Paul II.

Wojtla said “If it should be declared that contraception is not evil in itself, that would mean that the leaders of the Church, acting with extreme imprudence, had condemned thousands of innocent human acts, forbidding, under pain of eternal damnation, a practice which would now be sanctioned.” Thus it became only too clear that the core of the problem was not the pill, but the authority, continuity, and infallibility of the Church’s magisterium. OKing the pill would mean that the previous popes were not infallible. Oh, the humanity! (Actually, in view of the millions of women in 3rd-world countries who desparately wanted to control their fertility, it was an act of terrible inhumanity.)

This is merely a trick by a Demon-crat who likely fancies herself as clever. She knows fully well such a law (assuming it ever came to that) cannot be enforced, so this is really a backhanded swipe at conservatives whom they say want to “control a woman’s body.” But it is actually the leftists who wish to control everyone – body and soul – as they seek to confiscate are earnings and property.

In many ways, our society was better off before birth control took away a woman’s chastity before marriage (though on balance I would still come down on the side of freedom). As I have told my daughters, “make him buy the cow before giving away the milk for free.” They listened well and have given me beautiful grandchildren.

Consider that Planned Parenthood was founded as part of the eugenics movement by a woman who considered Blacks to be subhuman, and was later funded by the heirs to the Duke tobacco fortune who felt much the same way. And don’t think it applied only to Blacks. Asians like me (a Filipina), Latinos and Jews would have come in for the same treatment. It’s all part of the “progressive” cause.
