WHO’S GREEDY? Obama Gave 1% to Charity, Romney Gave 15%

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.

      Mormons are required by Commandment of God to pay 10% of all their GROSS income to the LDS church. This includes all income, including, employment, social security, Medicare, food stamps and trust funds and any other form of income, even including finding money on the ground.

        yes daves, you are correct that Mormons are required to give 10% to the church, however the amount shown was in addition to his tithing. If you factor in his tithing to the church as well as his other charitable contributions; then he gave approximately 23 to 30% of his income depending on what year you’re referring to.

      The LDS church provides millions in aid throughout the world in response to natural disasters along with projects to help communities whether it is wells for clean water or schools to educate the children, so tithing given by its members is used for many worthwhile projects that have no monetary gain for them. This is all regardless of religion or nationality.

    This shouldn't surprise anyone because anyone who knows the truth knows that democrats give less to charity than Republicans. It is the democrats who are selfish and greedy, not the Republicans.

    This is just one of the many examples of Romney stacking up well against Obama. Romney is steady, ethical, moral, and puts his money and efforts where his heart is. He has expertise our country needs at this time and we need to take advantage of that and help him win the nomination so he can defeat soundly Obama.

    Democrats are only charitable with other peoples money. That is why we pay such high taxes and they want more. They need more of our money so they can look charitable.

    Newt caught the wave of S.Carolina being the biggest FILP-FLOPPERS EVER.
    The early voting and absentee votes all were Romney and the debate clash with the news gave Newt the biggest wave.
    Then they went for Newt, for Heaven's Sake, the other fake catholic, Mel Gibson clashed with the press, and no one would
    ever vot for him for president of our country. Telling the Press off might be in order, but should not be enough to have you govern the USA for the next four years.

    problems right there. Had two children, then she got cancer and he went to her sick bed and told her he was divorcing her.

    I believe in repentence! However, do we really want to point out to our children and grandchildren that we just put two adulterers in the White House? I'm not fooled. Look at Newt's life. It is full of flame throwing, bad relationships with wives and co-legislators, insulting attacks on the news media, lies about his opponents, total lack of control of his spending and his eating.

    Do we really want our children to decide that materialism is the way to go. Be Newt's wife and you can have a charge account at Tiffany's for all the diamonds you want. Materialism is very bad for one's life and our Country.

    I'm looking for someone of character who has practiced controlling their appetites and passions. That would be Mit Romney.
