The Last Incarnation of Barack Obama: Big Government

If there was any doubt where President Barack Obama’s ideological heart lies, yesterday he let it be known loud and clear in a wide-ranging speech in Osawatomie, Kansas. President Obama is at his core a dyed-in-the-wool progressive who sees the federal government as the answer to all of America’s problems. And he is charging full steam ahead on this far-left course toward Election Day 2012, despite the total failure of his big-government policies and an American people who have flatly rejected the message he is trying to sell.

True to form, President Obama yesterday did what he does best: He delivered a flowery speech and flexed his rhetorical muscles. It’s a talent that won him the presidency, but unfortunately it hasn’t won the future for the American people. And that’s because the President’s underlying philosophy is terribly flawed. After three years of a massive expansion of government, the enactment of Obamacare, hundreds of billions of dollars in failed stimulus spending, government ownership of General Motors, a Big Labor/pro-unionization onslaught, threats of even higher taxation, the promulgation of more unnecessary regulations, and a total failure to confront the entitlement challenge, the verdict is in on President Obama’s record and the soundness of his statist, progressive philosophy. Deficits are soaring, the economy is stagnant, 13.3 million Americans are out of work, and job growth is flat. Not surprisingly, the President’s speech did not touch on those facts.

    The first thing he talked about was amnesty and education for illegal's…..blah, blah, blah to educators and energy; with or without congress, and he means that.

      The longer he stays in office, the more he will bypass Congress and the Courts. He likes ruling by executive order and he has 40 Czars in the basement to carry them out. The Departments and Agencies are window dressing for the public. The real power is wielded by the Czars at his direction.

    the biggest farce is the fact he is ineligible to be president and we have a hyprocritical congress and senate plus supreme court with aid of media who let him go on and on. When does the charade stop?? After he has had another term of destruction or some one puts a bullet in his head? Kennedy was a popular president as was Lincoln. Both got shot.
    I watched his speech to the congress??? He has had three years in office and has achieved nothing except increase the size of government and has hampered any job growth by using the EPA. I mean the stopping of the pipeline we need despartley to stop the increases to the fuel prices in our country. I ask you how can congress sit there and clap for a mans speech who isnt even eligible to hold the office he is in.

    Obama has compared himself to Licoln and Kennedy yet both were assasinated. Obama has never proven he is eligible to be president and has a phony Social Security card and will not release his school records, passport records nor anything about himself and has spent millions of dollars hiding all. Congress and the media over for him. What kind of a country do we have??? Was a republic but not anymore. I will vote Ron Paul, a true conservative man.

    We have big government because millions of citizens wanted the many entitlement programs the government provides. The largest and most powerful military industrial complex the world has ever known. A government, when town, city, state and federal employees are included has more employees than the private sector. Homeland Security, with twenty two programs under it has 240, 000 employees. ObamaCare created 159 programs. Congress issued a report late this past year saying that TSA was a failure and a waste of $65 billion taxpayers dollars.

    The open border policy in Washington is to flood the country with illegal immigrants, its wrong and you know it's wrong! Three presidents deported illegal from our country in lean times such as this, Hoover, Truman and Eisenhower. Illegals suck up our jobs and tax our hospital and natural resources, and as the government has grown – the cost has become greater then the revenue they take in. I balance my checkbook every month and the government should do the same. A patriot!

      Yes, those three Presidents did deport thousands and more thousands got scared to be caught and self-deported.
      If it could be done then, it can be done now. It'll just take a little longer that's all.
      When Oklahoma passed their anti-illegal law a couple of years ago the house next to my niece emptied practically overnight. she said there 3 or 4 families living in it. It was left a real mess.

    Our do nothing Republicans that we elected to represent us do not see the urgency of removing Obama and Cronies from office! They are quite comfortable with him serving out his term. The havoc that Obama has created over the last 3 years will pale in comparision to what he and his Left Wing Socialist will do for the next year. Impeachment proceedings should have already begun. We have the votes in the House but not the Senate. At least if we proceeded it would slow down his Executive Order Legislation. He stated in his State Of The Union Address that he will not tolerate any obstructionism from the right, and I believe it. Obama will continue his pillage of the greatest country in the world until he is removed from office. Speaker Boehner why have you not acted to remove this DESPOT that is destroying this country?

      The House has not done anything for impeachment because it would never get past hairy reed in the Senate. It would be D.O.A. and so would be a waste of time for the House.
      Also, that is a good thing because o. is not a Natural Born Citizen and not eligible to even be in the W.H..
      An impeachment process would legitimize him as POTUS and set a real precedent.
      Then, who knows, maybe our next President would be from a 3rd world country.

    Given Obama's anti-American stance with respect to American history and the things that made this country great, it's hard to believe that he was born in this country. Obama panders to the something-for-nothing segment of our society who believe that they are somehow entitled to the fruits of others labor. Any naturalized American citizen, or those on a legal path to citizenship, realize that they are so much better off in this country than they were in the land from which they emigrated.
