Romney Wins GOP Florida Primaries

Well folks, after a roller-coaster week with brutal media attacks full of ups and downs from the Romney and Gingrich camps, Mitt Romney ultimately pulled ahead and won the Florida primary.

As I’m writing this at 8 p.m. EST, the polls have just closed with 56% of the precincts in. The numbers will change by tomorrow, but for now here’s the breakdown:

Mitt Romney, 47%

Newt Gingrich, 31%

Rick Santorum, 13%

Ron Paul, 7%

    This year it is "anyone other than Obama". Even if that means the "phony conservative", Mitt Romney, gets the the nod. Mitt Romney is about as conservative as Bill Clinton. Romney does not like the "Tea Party" because he knows that they know he is really a liberal R.I.N.O. In fact, the entire GOP Washington DC establishment has defected to the "liberal side". That means that after this election, true conservatives in this nation must form our own party, select our own candidates, and in 2016, throw out both the democrats and the republicans. They are secretly "working together" to stay in power and both have been responsible for accumulating our massive debt and runing our country. We must totally change the politics in America or lose our country. Both current political parties are totally corrupt and beyond any reform.

      You just about covered it. My problem with Romney is he can lie as good as nobama and when he ran for governor of Massachusetts he was as liberal as they come and now he wants us to believe he is a conservative. BS. If his win in Florida means he has the nomination sewed up then what about the rest of us in the good ole USA. Don't our votes count? I think if Rick Santorum and Ron Paul had dropped out and made it a two man race then Mitt would not have won Florida. Lets see what the rest of the country thinks and not base the nomination on a caucus and two primaries. I would like to take it all the way to the convention. One other thing, Mitt only gets 1/2 of the Florida delegates, remember Florida pushed up their primary and the GOP made them drop 1/2 of the delegates. Well shall see what we shall see.

      Mad Mike, I totally agree. But our first priority is to get ANYONE else in the White House but obama. Then we can deal with the new establishment & we will because they may not be perfect, but we can put pressure on them to become more conservative & do what the majority of Americans want, unlike the megalomaniac obama (I never capitalize his name out of disrespect).

Romney shouldn't even be on the ballot because his father was born in Mexico. So, in other words, Romney is gonna sell us out to Mexico like Obozo sold us out to Britian/Mexico.       Only if the Tea Party will endorse a fiscal conservative Libertarian (philosophy of our Founding Fathers) will a Tea Party president be valuable to our country. This time the Tea Party endorsements all went to RINOs, with the exception of Bachman's.endorsement: Bachman endorsed Ron Paul, a very brilliant fiscal conservative move. My opinion of Bachman improved quite a bit after that.

      I agree,I dont know if I can vote for Romney.The important thing is to re-take the senate.That way if BO is re-elected the GOP must then see that he is stopped till 2016 and hopefully by then a real conservative will emerge.

    True Patriot– please rethink your final sentence: Voting No for President gives a vote to Obama, which is not what you want. Do you seriously prefer Obama to Romney? Romney is not my man either; however, I will certainly and enthusiastially support and vote for him if he is the GOP nominee. If Conservatives hold their family members to the standard they hold their candidate, then I am sure that they have disowned all of their loved ones. Please vote for the GOP candidate, whomever it is, and together, let's get the Obamas out of the Whitehouse.

      Abigail- I for one will write in somebody else, if Romney is the nominee. I don't care much for Gingrich or Santorum. Both of them are big government RINOs. I'll write in Ron Paul even if he says not to and endorses the eventual nominee. I will not stand for changing of the constitution by political class elitist elected by slim majorities. Our founding fathers gave us a constitutional republic, not a simple democracy, to prevent tyranny of the majority over the minority. Just remember, if the SCOTUS does not strike down Obama Care, it is game over. What else will we be required to purchase for the sake of the economy under the Interstate commerce claus? Maybe a Chevy Volt or solar panels from Solyndra to prop these companies up? These guys are all about doing, albeit well intentioned, but maybe not constitutional. Ron Paul would not. What Ron Paul would do is work on undoing the mess we have now. No we don't need an Obama Lite. We need Ron Paul.

      daijal, that sounds good; however, we can only vote for the ones who are running; we may not have a pure Conservative you want, and so let's choose the one who is closest bec all of them are preferable to Obama. To NOT vote is to GIVE your vote to Obama, and that's precisely how we got Obama in the first place: People who refused to got for McCain gave their vote to Obama. No other way he would win.

    I will only vote for what i believe and asking anyone to vote for a putz like romney just to defeat BO is selling out. Romney will only continue the BO agenda maybe at a 5mph slower pace but seriously there is NO difference between Mitt, Newt, Santorum OR obuma. Its all about the money.

    Funny how the GOP preaches conservatism yet did nothing when its two most conservative candidates (Bachmann and Cain) were shot down by the liberal press. The only halfway real Conservative left is Santorum, but he will probably drop out soon, leaving us with the libertarian Paul (no thanks!), a moderate (at best), Newt, or a RINO, Romney. The GOP played their games in 2008 and denied us Huckabee while "giving" us RINO McCain – news flash GOP: it won't work this time! RINO Romney couldn't even beat RINO McCain for the nomination, and YOU want him to go against Odoofus? No thanks! While Newt isn't my first, second, or even third choice, I can and will vote for him in the primaries without having to hold my nose, unlike what I and millions of others had to do for RINO McCain in 2008.

    I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils. I will cast my vote for the man I believe our Country must have to bring us back to Government by our Constitution. The others would push our Country down the slippery slope to a third world Country in a One World Government which they all support. Vote Ron Paul for President in 2012 but we must elect a House and Senate controlled by Constitutional Conservates then, working together, they can make Ron Paul's Plan to Restore America a reality.

      Your allegience to Ron Paul is nice. However, his isolationism and libertarian views on everything would put at risk our Judeo-Christian culture, just as Romney will, his ineffectiveness in Congress would continue even multiplied as President, and in the upcoming debates, he would not hold a candle in the wind to O. and he does not have the presence to be president and respected worldwide. "Live and let live philosophy" is not possible for America in the world we live in.

    I'm reading these comments and agree!

    Romney BOUGHT the Florida votes. Mittens and his buds ran 13,000 ads (mostly negative against Newt) to 200 Gingrich ads, but Romney only won by 13% (announced this morning). The advertising worked folks.

    It makes me sick that Liberal Romney got all 50 Florida votes. It's like the Electoral College system – totally unfair!

    Yes, he's too Liberal for me. Romneycare – one step toward a Socialist government. Bet you didn't know that he voted for a Democrat in a Democrat primary.

    Now Florida is a nice state but they have some mighty stupid voters there. Remember the 2000 election when so many of them did not know how to use the punch card voting system and the vote count went on and on. Now we have another "election" that pretty much makes you wonder where they have their heads. 90 % of Romneys ads were negative and of that amount most of the ads contained glaring lies. I guess if you can't figure out how to vote you can't tell one lie from another. Seems that Romney can lie with the best of liars and the very best is nobama. Lets take this nomination on to the rest of the states and when and only when we have all had the chance to cast our ballots will we really know who is the peoples choice, not just three primaries and a caucus.

    How can anyone not know that Romney is as dangerous as Obama. Obama is like a snake in the grass and Romney is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Florida you will get what you deserve if either get in office. The only problem is we will all suffer from your mistake. Wake up world, do you all want to live like this. I am 78 yrs. old and I am so glad I am on the down hill stretch but hate to think what my grandchildren and great grandchildren will have to suffer because of stupid decisions.

    I cannot and will not abide by the saw "Anybody but Obama." This is nothing but desperation. Why is it that Ann Coulter and other pundits were forecasting a Romney nomination LONG BEFORE ANY primary started? Do they know something we don't?

    I am SICK AND TIRED of voting for the lesser of two evils. Since Obama is a known evil and Romney is an unknown evil most will vote for a known evil versus an unknown evil Obama will win.

    When Romney advocates Gun Control in direct opposition to the 2nd Amendment…in direct opposition to the writings of our founders and the writers of our Constitution then it tells me he is a loser. Ask yourself why any alleged Public SERVANT wants to take you ability to own a gun away from you? Do they fear you their Master? After all are they not suppose to be YOUR SERVANT?????????????

    I am a veteran of three wars. I have buried a father (WW II and Korea) and a younger brother (Vietnam) and I am a Veteran of 4 Wars (Vietnam, Cold War, Iraq, Afghanistan) and I have seen what happens when governments go the way the US Gov't is going.

    But what is worse is the apathy of the American People. You are no longer worth fighting for and you are no longer worth dying for. Please explain to me what my father and brother died for. Please explain to me what I fought for. Please give me an answer why your life is worth more than mine? Answer me by telling my 92 year old mother what her son died for.

    If Romney is the best the RNC/GOP can come up with I will continue to enjoy my time as an expat living in a former Soviet Country. At least here women can walk home at any hour of the night in any city and have ZERO fear of being attacked.

    Take for what it is worth….but America isn't worth it anymore. Even the military understands retreat, retrograde, back off, etc.

    Yes I am thankful for those of you that continue to fight but you are fighting a losing battle. Remember 52% of the public voted for Obama. You ARE now in the minority. Vote with your feet and leave. Thousands of us already have. The MSM won' tell you that.

    Romney with a GOP conterolled Congress will do the job. The conservative conscience will be well reprersented in the House and hopefully the Senate. This set up will be very different from the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts where he was the most conservative voice among the elected branches of government. The main point folks is that he can beat the suit that is now holding the job and he has the smarts to handle the economy. 4 more years of the socialist community organizer would be an absolute disaster.

    Carmelo, how racist is it when the Latinos in Florida voted for Romney almost two to one?… They obviously didn’t buy Newt’s amnesty proposal and they favored Romney’s immigration policy? …Also, they liked Romney’s position on family values and morals (it didn’t hurt Romney any by bringing out his family. Newt should have brought out his three wives.)… And you know already that Newt does have a long history of scandals, corruption and lies….It’s about time you Kool-aid drinkers start doing some research and discover for yourself the truth about Newt.

    Although I cant justify Newt over his remarks about Ryan's budget. He called Ryan's budget Right Wing Social engineering. A lunar base on the mood is lunacy! When we went to the moon in the 60's at that time we were the richest nation on earth. Now we are broke. Does Newt understand that? Or does he think government spending for the program will help the economy? Hello Obama! Get me gas under a dollar and I will fix the US economy.

    The last republican sweep was not because of the social issues. it was won by conservative republicans and independents that support the fiscal iniatives while stil wanting CHOICE for woman.

    I used to be a Democrat — I became a Republican because I couldn't stand all the factions in the Democratic party. Now, we in the Republican Party are being torn apart by our own factions. Let's see, we have the Tea Party who thinks we should vote their way – we have the Evangelicals who are supposed to be against adultrey backing Gingrich — we have the "REAL conservatives – the TRUE conservatives – the anti abortion crew – and the moderate wings of the party which all of you refer to as RINOS!

    Well I am a moderate Republican and I proudly voted for Romney. I like the man's family values and his moral integrity. I could not, in any way vote for Gingrich.

    Call me a RINO if you must — but I believe that the only conservatives in this race were Romney and Santorum! Newt Gingrich a conservative — Newt Leroy Gingrich in only for Newt Gingrich. And, he fooled all the Evangelicals in Florida. That wing of this mixed up party all voted for him. I thought they were for family values, etc. but yet, they voted for a man who can't keep his lip or his pants zipped!

    If you examine Mitt Romney's record,

    1. He is a complete liberal. He was the "Father of Gay Marriage" to America….he illegally instituted gay marriage in the state of Massachusetts under his governorship, when there was NO LAW ON THE BOOKS to legalize it and still to this day, it is illegal and against the law in that state.
    2. Mitt signed in to his healthcare law a $50.00 tax subsidized co-pay for abortions.
    3. Mitt Romney (THIS IS THE TRUTH) believes that when he dies, he will be given his own kingdom/planet to populate with spirit babies…so much more about this…the truth is stranger than fiction here.

    It is just this simple in Florida. It was up for sale to the highest bidder and that bidder was Mitt Rumney who came to play with $16 million and the Floridians rewarded him with victory. Mitt Rumney is living proof that money talks and Florida is living proof that fools vote.
