Poll: Gingrich Surging in South Carolina

The InsiderAdvantage poll of South Carolina likely Republican primary voters shows Newt Gingrich surging, coming within a statistical tie of Mitt Romney.

The poll of 726 registered voters was completed Wednesday night and offered the following results:

Romney — 23 percent

Gingrich — 21 percent

Santorum — 14 percent

Paul — 13 percent

Huntsman — 7 percent

Perry — 5 percent

“New Hampshire and Iowa have had little impact on the race in South Carolina,” Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage, told Newsmax.

So SC is conservative? If they support CFR knewtieairbag, then they are nothing but fools and rednecks. There is no excuse for mass ignorance.

    • http://deleted cmh391

This is just another non-poll to get the sheeple to vote Newt – just like they did with Santmoron in Iowa. baa baa they are telling us Newt is number one baa baa he must beee the one who gets our vote baa baa
I am so tired of this running after non-candidates when there is only one in the race that will restore America, our Liberties and our Constitution.
      Ron Paul 2012

      • June9245

        Let me get this straight.

Twenty years ago someone put some crazy, racist stuff in newsletters bearing Ron Paul’s name and written in the first person as if they were from Ron Paul.

        Ron Paul never read them.

Ten years ago, when confronted with some of the crazy stuff (I’m trying really hard not to use “crazy s**t” here), Ron Paul says he wrote them, but they must be taken in their whole context to understand them.
Fast forward to the present and Ron Paul never wrote them, does not know who wrote them, cannot recall the names of anyone who worked for him who might have written them, is shocked to learn he made big money off them, and people think this guy has the qualifications to be President of the United States?

Letting someone write bat crap crazy stuff under your name, not knowing who they are or what they are doing, profiting from them, then taking responsibility before denying responsibility is credible?!
If we’re to take Ron Paul at his word, maybe we need to get him an Alzheimer’s test. He is old. Hell, if pigs did fly and he did get elected President, he’d be 81 at the end of his first term.

        • The Traditionalist

          June 9245

How do you know the things written in these letters is racist? Do you have proof to back your accusations? Have you saw any of these letters? And what is your definition of racist? Today any white person who disagrees with a person of color may be accused of being racist. If you oppose illegal immigration you may be accused of being racist. If you are a staunch follower of the U.S. Constitution you are labeled a terrorist.

If these letters are racist, then why does’nt the liberal media post copies of them on their websites or air them on their broadcasts so we can all see and decide for ourselves if they are racist. How many more years will it take for you to discover that you can’t trust the big corporate owned liberal media to tell the truth?

And what is so wrong with Ron Paul’s age? Moses was chosesn to lead Israel at the age of 80. God did not disqualify Moses because of his age ,so why should you judge a man on the basis of his age? Calab boasted of his physical fitness at the age of 80 and marched off to engage in combat. And what about Senator Strom Therman who turned 100 while still in office? Undoubtedly the people of South Carolina did not think he was too old to hold office; and Jack Lalane did 2-hour workouts in his 90′s until a couple of days before his death? Does’nt sound like age should an obstacle when it comes to choosing a leader. You young punks who are alway spouting off this garbage about age don’t know what you are talking about. You seem to think when a man reaches a certain age he is finished–not so. Remember, someday you to will be old.

          • Majjohn

Uh, Moses did not make it did he? Oh, And I’m not a whipper snapper either!

        • Captain Shays

Look Ron Paul “wrote” articles for his news letter but DIDN’T write the provocative letters. Let’s at least get hat straight while you’re trying to besmirch a good and decent man. I understand that politics is a dirty business but no need to out right lie. If you want to have a go on the issues and we disagree that’s fine but let’s at least be honest.
Oh BTW, the real author of the letters has been revealed on national television last week. Where have you been? It wasn’t Ron Paul. NEXT?

      • RacerJim

I’m as tired of Paulbots as Obots.

        • Rodger in WA

          me too

          • http://verizon.net Bud

Ditto and now that the campaign swings south, you won’t be seeing Paul’s numbers anywhere near the top and he will fade just like Huntsman, Perry and Santorum.

The voters will decide who wins and I see only two near the end and they are Romney and Gingrich. Santorum will take a lot of votes away from both but he likely will come in third followed by Paul, Perry and Huntsman in that order in South Carolina and in Florida, it will be a dog fight between Gingrich and Romney and either could win here. All others will be down considerably in the numbers except Santorum.
For the record, my predictions have been exact with one exception in Iowa and New Hampshire. I pay no attention to the polls because one can’t predict what is in the mind of the undecided as evidenced by both Iowa and New Hampshire. Logically, with the voters in Iowa, it appeared Santorum would do very well there but I had doubts he would; a good man but I didn’t see him as a strong candidate and still don’t. I did see and predict that Paul would do well in New Hampshire because the voters proved they see him more liberal than conservative and why he did well there. The majority there are moderate and liberal and why the conservatives (not true conservatives) did not fare well.
The Paul supporters will likely be all over this but all I ask is you actually listen to him and decide for yourself what he really is.

        • Mike

If Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney get the Republican (GOP) nomination to run for

Jimbob, a vote for NewtRomneySantorum is a vote for Obama.

      • Randy131

If anyone has watched the Bain Documentary video, you know that Mitt Romney will be unelectable when the Obama’s billion dollar machine has it broadcasted on the 3 major networks during prime time, and he has enough money to see that it never leaves TV screens during the entire campaign, if Romney is the Republican candidate. This video will also bring down the Governors of South Carolina and New Jersey if they don’t retract their endorsemnents for Romney. I don’t know what they were promised to endorse Romney, but if their endorsemnets are not retracted by the time of the South Carolina primary voting, then that video will be run by their opponents at their next election, with their endorsments at it’s end. If Romney is the Republican candidate in the national elections of 2012, he will lose and cause many other Republicans to lose also, because of that video.

        • Chivis

          Randy 131,

          You are Right.
Obama and the media are in Romney’s favor because if he wins the Republican nomination, obama will most likely be reelected.

          • bmac

That is why we must elect Newt Gingrich. Obama will
be able to run over Romney, but not Gingrich.
Gingrich is must too smart for the likes of Obama, with
much more experience in all fields of politics and business.

      • Ann Wilson Kingsley

This is a hokey poll, and here is why: The date a poll is taken is critical information. Researching the original article, I could never find the date the poll was taken. This poll must have been taken prior to the N.H. primary because the figures look very biased with no relationship to a changed field. I wanted to see figures for a poll taken after the N.H. primary, not before.

And here is my stance on Newt:

Newt Gingrich is a Neo-Conservative Globalist New World Order Progressive whose life-style is a disgrace. Presidents of our country influence the moral character of the American people, as well as citizens of other countries. We need to elect a president who is a good example. Endorsing or voting for Gingrich is utter hypocrisy. It is no wonder people are gravitating away from our churches when faith-based people are willing to elect a leader who is such a poor example. The people who make this type of endorsement need to consider the type of witnesses they are making for Christ. Most people with Newt’s lack of moral character would not have considered themselves an appropriate example for the American people to follow, but Newt is a Narcissist who has poor ability at self-evaluation.

        Vote for Ron Paul!

        • patriotrenegade

You talk bad about Newt & Paul who are you getting behind??? My vote is for Newt, he is by far the smartest person we have to choose from, Paul has some good points but is too old and his policy on Iran is plum crazy, Romney is a RINO, but I will get behind whoever the GOP comes up with. ABO in 2012!!!

        • Larry White

It says in the lead-in that the poll was conducted last night, Wednesday. With regard to Ron Paul, he says a lot of sensible things. Mostly, I like him. However, his position on the military and, especially, giving free rein to Iran to allow them to become a nuclear power move him into “CRAZY!” country. It was bad enough waking up to 9/11; I don’t want to wake up to a nuclear attack in Los Angeles, or New York, or Houston, or Seattle, or Portland, or St Louis, OR ALL OF THE ABOVE.

        • http://deleted cmh391

Ann, I googled the poll and it was taken just 1 day, on January 11th, the day after the NH primary. But Newt’s ad had been playing for several days in SC before the poll was taken.
I don’t trust the poll. They only call land-line numbers which exclude many younger people and most probablt the military, of which there are many in SC.
700 odd people is not a very good indication of anything.
I would trust Drudge’s SC poll before this one.

          • Majjohn

Well, they have not been wrong yet. And the military don’t use land lines? OK, if you say so. And the young folks, well, they are sure to turn out in droves for a Republican. Usually they don’t turn out at all, so their imput would skew the poll. We should ask likely voters.

        • Majjohn

We need someone well respected and a real family man like Clinton. He set a real example for all the young folks. Or maybe the folks don’t care about the private lives of candidates and presidents, just their ability to get things done (within the original intent of the constitution).

      • Larry White

But for them to have time or desire to search real FACTS is not easy. Do what is possible to educate and help, a good down to earth system is needed.

      • millertime

The media elects our president, not the people. They tell them they have to vote for Mitt because he’s the only one who can win which is crap!! People can say what they want about Newt and his personal life. Who cares who he’s married to!! Obama has been married to what’s her name forever and look where that got us. Newt can kill Obama in a debate every time and he’s smarter than all of the other candidates!! Ron Paul is too old. Sorry, I love the elderly but no to Ron Paul for President. Romney is a chip off of the old Obama block. People are crazy if they elect him. Wake up, put someone in there who knows what he’s doing because he’s done it.

        • Rodger in WA

          Good thoughts, Miller.
Seems the zealots on these threads are one issue voters. That’s not healthy.
Dislike Newt due his multi marriages? Carter got elected because he was perceived as morally Mister Clean and look what a mess he made both economically and in foreign plicies.
Reagan was criticized for his divorce from Jane Wyman. His policies revived the economy and destroyed the USSR threat.
We need the candidate who is strongest in all issues. In this race that is Gingrich by several lengths.
Yes, he appears to lean toward globalism and appears too reliant on big government. A Constitutionally conservative House and Senate can keep Newt under control in the pro global and big government issues.
Gingrich CAN beat Obama and he is the country’s best hope for workable solutions.

You see Newt really is smart and not just because the lame stream media says so as they do for the fraud obama . Every debate that Newt Gingrich has taken part in he has shown his ability to lead this nation back to it’s constitutional roots . Unlike Ron Paul Newt Gingrich actually has a plan to bring country to it’s constitutional roots and unlike Ron Paul Newt Gingrich is a realist when it come to foreign policy . Anyone who say it is no big deal if Iran get a nuclear weapon ( Ron Paul) is not playing with a full deck . Can you say senility ?

    Newt? Really? Why?

He’s been a member of the CFR since 1990.
    Voted for NAFTA.
Supported WTO and voted for GATT.
During his speech at the Center for Strategic and International Affairs Newt blamed the US Constitution for making America’s role in leading the world more difficult!
In 1995, he appeals to the US House of Representatives to increase the power of the Presidency by repealing the War Powers Act of 1972.
Newt even urged President Clinton to expand the US military presence in Bosnia.
In 2008 he showed his support for carbon taxes and even records the ‘We Can Solve It’ global warming TV commercial for Al Gore along with Nancy Pelosi.
More recently Newts been busy traveling around the country with Al Sharpton and Arne Duncan to promote President Obama’s new educational policies.

Not to mention that he’s Pro War, Pro Patriot Act, and in favor of even more Gun Control…

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

Newt is all over the place & has quite a checkered past. Because some of the things he did in the past were good, he appeals to conservative Republicans who are looking to an alternative to liberal Romney.

Freddie Mac while Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae were speeding toward helping to cause the financial mess we are in now. He must not have been a very good advisor or if he did see what was coming why did he continue to work for them? George Bush was trying to stop it but couldn’t get Congress to stop it. Not a good advisor if you ask me.

If Ron Paul is honest, then he is incompetent as a manager in my opinion. Here is the fact. Please don’t blather on about NWO, Neo Cons and the like. Just make your determination which one he is and then temper your future comments using common sense rather than Mantra! His views that were written about in HIS newsletters for years with HIS name on them are scary. He claims that he did not know what they were writing for years. To me, that sounds like irresponsible management AT MINIMUM. How can someone who cannot even supervise his OWN newsletters manage international affairs and the US government. So IF he is honest, he is irresponsible and incompetent AT THE LEAST. My belief is that he DID know what was in his newsletters for YEARS and did supervise what went in there. THAT would make him patently dishonest by claiming that he did not know. What would the average person think if they were not a PaulBot or a cult member? My guess would be the latter but the former is possible. Which do you believe, since you claim he is the ONLY honest one? Is he irresponsible and incompetent or dishonest?

    • http://deleted cmh391

Prove Ron Paul said that, Bob. He said the foreign policies have, over the years, caused the mess the Middle East is in. Read some history before spouting those LSM headlines, please.

As for Newt – the Contract for America was a complete FAILURE. Please, please, Bob, read some history books.

I saw and heard Ron Paul blame America for the 9-11 attacks in the 2007 SC presidential debate.
Please, don’t defend that by saying, “He wasn’t blaming the American people, but our foreign policy”. That is clap trap. He justified the terrorist attack because of “our foreign policy”.

I have never heard that anti-semitic old goat ever once show any empathy for the victims of 9-11. Not once. Not once has he ever said how horrible it was that many victims chose to jump to their deaths to escape the unbearable heat from the flames. Not once. To excuse it away because of something we did is despicable.

I disagree with the Islamic societies treat women and non-muslims, but that doesn’t give me the right to fly planes into their buildings.

I find the way you Ron Paul supporters defend what Ron Paul said, to be quite disgusting.

Go to Youtube and look up “Ron Paul interviews with Al Jezeera”. He spouts the enemy’s propaganda on the enemy’s tv station!! DISGUSTING.

        • Martin Ridens

Ron Paul wasn’t defending the terrorists attacks. Can we really sit here and say our military involvement in the middle east had no part in their decision to fly planes into our buildings? When he said they attacked us because we are over there he was simply pointing out what they themselves had said.

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD7dnFDdwu0

That’s what I heard anyway. You and Rudy Giuliani seem to disagree.

Martin, when they flew planes into our buildings we had been in Afghanistan helping the muslims repel the Soviet invasion. When they flew planes into buildings we had gone into Kuwait to kick the invading Saddam Hussein out. When they flew planes into our buildings we had bases in Saudi Arabia at the Saudis’ request because they were afraid Hussein might attack them. That should have gotten us their gratitude.

It is TAQIYYA when they say it is because of our actions. They say that in the hopes we will high tail it home and curl up into a little ball and ignore the rest of the world.

When Ron Paul blamed our foreign policy for 9-11 he most certainly blamed us for the attacks. It is quite tiresome the way you Paulbots deny what Paul says.

It does NOT matter what a gov’t's foreign policy is. It does NOT give you the right to slaughter innocent people….including children.

Again, I have never heard Paul express any empathy for the victims that died on 9-11. He is despicable.

Ron Paul was spouting the enemy’s propaganda on the enemy’s news site. Sorry you don’t grasp what is wrong with that.
Can you imagine a presidential candidate spouting Hitler’s rhetoric on German tv during WWII? Hmm?
Paul was mad mouthing Israel on enemy tv. He is a despicable little imp.

      • Majjohn

Heard Paul say it, prove he didn’t.

    • Al

      At Bob;

Ron Paul has never once blamed the U.S. for 9-11. He has simply stated that it was a result of a flawed foreign policy. And these facts can be found in the 9-11 Commission Report. Newt is one of the candidates running that continues to endorse the same flawed foreign policy that was the catalyst for the events of 9-11.

I can say that Newt at least claims that he has an interest in investigating the Federal Reserve. But it doesn’t change the fact that he has a lot of globalist connections and has a questionable at best stance on many issues.

Support him if you like, but I personally don’t see how replacing one globalist driven politician for another is going to be any benefit to the American people.

      Ron Paul 2012!!!

      • gullah

You Ron Paul supporters are as ignorant of Islamic doctrine as Paul is. It is in the Koran. They are taught from the time they can move that they are to kill the infidel. They think they go to heaven if they kill us. They have been doing this for 1400 years.
Our first war was the Barbary War. They were capturing our ships off of N. Africa. Jefferson asked the diplomat from Morrocco why they were doing it because the US had no quarrel with them. The muslim’s response? He told Jefferson it was their religious duty to capture the infidel and kill him. Was that because of our foreign policy??

Are you aware that most of today’s hot spots around the world are because of Islam? Do you understand that muslims are taught that they are to fight and kill us until Islam rules the earth?

I find the total ignorance on Islam by Paul and his supporters to be quite disturbing.

Oh and blaming our foreign policy for 9-11 is JUSTIFYING the attacks.

Ever heard of TAQIYYA? It is deceit in order to advance Islam. It is basic Islamic doctrine. In Islam it is considered a virtue to lie to the infidel. Especially if it advances Islam. When the muslims whine that it is our foreign policy they are feeding you a heaping pile of steaming TAQIYYA.

        • Al

          At gullah;

Let me ask you this. It is your opinion that all of those that are Islamic want to kill Americans (Infidels). Without bankrupting our country, how do you suggest we rectify this?

I’m really looking forward to your answer on this…

          Ron Paul 2012!!!

          • gullah

First, quit letting them immigrate here. Don’t allow any more mosques to be built here. Over 80% of them preach for our death and destruction. That is sedition and they should be shut down. They are enemy installations. Ignoring the threat won’t make it go away. Whining about the costs of defending our freedom won’t save us money. Paul thinks it’s fine and dandy to build the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and to continue to let them immigrate here.

We went into serious debt during WWII. That is what you do to win a war. However, the main thing bankrupting us is Medicare, Medicaid, and SS. Ignoring the rest of the world ends up costing us more in the long run.

          • Al

            At Gullah,

Well it is answer, I guess…
So we should suspend the Freedom of Religion and disregard the right to assemble to any groups that may pose a potential threat to the United States. Then, close our boarders to those seeking entry into this country base upon their religious beliefs. And finally start bombing American cities that contain Mosques as they are as you put it “enemy installations”…

well you can’t get much more American than that… :)

Good Answer btw… I wasn’t expecting you to take it that route..

            Ron Paul 2012!!!

          • patriotrenegade

not by kissing theirs and everyone elses ass. islam is a religion of legalized child molestation and abuse. moe-hamid married a 6 yr old but didn’t consumate the “relatioship” till she was 9. Liberals shrug it off as “cultural”. NUKE THEM ALL STARTING WITH MECCA.

          • Al

            at patriot renegade ,

Well I hate to say it but your answer sounds more realistic than Gullahs… but its difficult to argue with an absolutist… :)

          • Pepper

Yeah! Let’s just nuke everybody who isn’t a RINO. Then the world will be safe for RINOs.

          • gullah

Again Al, you show your complete ignorance on Islam.
First, nowhere did I say “bomb the mosques in this country”. You are either a liar or have pathetic reading comprehension skills.

If you had bother to get informed on Islamic doctrine, you would understand the Islam is not a First Amendment issue. It is an Article 6 issue which states that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Muslims want to overturn our Constitution and replace it with Shariah law. That is sedition.

The First Amendment does not mean anything goes. Remember the Mormon, Brigham Young moved to what later became Utah because he was not allowed to practice polygamy, even though that was part of Mormon religious doctrine.

I believe it was John Adams who said that our Constitution would only work for moral and religious people. A “good” muslim cannot swear allegiance to anything but the Koran.

Yes, we have every right to deny entry into this country based on a hate filled ideology that calls for our death and destruction.

If you had bothered to do the least bit of research on Islam you would know that wherever Islam takes root, freedom dies. All other religions are extinguished. We have every right to protect our Constitution from extinction.

You Paulbots are all about the Constitution, except when it comes to the main responsibility of the president and government…to provide for the common defense. It is suicidal to allow folks to immigrate here who want to overthrow our Constitution.
You do know that the Muslim Brotherhood has stated they are going to destroy us from within and that every muslim group in this country is a front for them?

            Read the book, “Muslim Mafia”.

Thanks again for showing how breath takingly ignorant Ron Paul and his supporters are when it comes to the hate filled political doctrine known as Islam.

          • Al

            at Gullah,

I know you didn’t say bomb Mosques here in the USA. But you did imply that 80% of all Isalmics in the US were enemies of the United States and I used sarcasm to get my point across.
Sorry to keep this response short, but I’m typing on my phone. I do like your take on this topic and hope to debate it more with you later.

            Thanks for your reply! :)

            Ron Paul 2012!!!

          • Majjohn

Better yet, how will Paul rectify this?

        • CJ

gullah- ever read the Book of Talmud? The Anti-Christ religion. They hate goys (gentiles).

          • gullah

No CJ I have not, but I will say this: There is nothing in Judaism that calls for violence in perpetuity against non Jews.
The Koran calls for violence in perpetuity until Islam rules the world.

The only Jews I know that don’t care for Christianity are Jews in name only. In other words non practicing Jews. Left wing and secular who just happen to have a Jewish surname.

Yes, there is violence in the Old Testament, but that violence is descriptive. In other words it happened and is described. It is not prescriptive. It does not say that that violence is to continue “until Judaism rules the world”.

The violence in the Koran is prescriptive. It is instructional. They are taught it is something they are to do until Islam rules the world.

I can’t get over how uninformed so many people are about Islam 10 years after they attacked us. I figured most Americans would have done what I did after 9-11: Learn their docrine.

      • Hick Chick

Ron Paul will be 81 years old in his fourth year of presidency….is he wins. That makes me uneasy.

        • Martin Ridens

What if you liked his VP pick?

          • Majjohn

Oh, that would be Sen Strom Thurmond.

    • Lonnie W. Lynch

The ones supporting Ron Paul are the ones that are blasting Newt… Most of them are democrats and worse… Newt will put this country in order and have it humming again in short order and they know it… Go Newt !!!

      • RacerJim

        ^5 Ditto 5^

      • Al

        At Lonnie W. Lynch;

Its not just the Ron Paul supporters that are questioning Mr. Gingrich’s stance on policies and the issues. And honestly, the lame name calling and blind accusations is getting boring.

Let me ask you, as a supporter of Newt Gingrich how can you justify your stance of supporting a him?
He’s been involved with the globalists for over 20 years on record and is in support of carbon taxes. He’s another Pro-War/Pro-Patriot Act candidate that is in favor of adding more bureaucracies for gun control. I know that many of his supporters like his “Contract with America”, and it parts of it sound okay… But everyone seems to agree that Newt is a low down dirty politician that can talk the talk, but isn’t really known for walking the walk.

Again, I’m not trying to bash anyone… But I’m having a difficult time trying to see the logic in supporting him.

        Ron Paul 2012!!!

        • Jimbob

Whats with the name calling “low down and dirty politician” why not discuss the merits of his actions instead of this crap. Newt walks into any room and he is the smartest guy there. obummer walks into a room, any room, and he is the dumbest guy there. Without a telepromter he can’t adress a bunch of kindergardeners.

Ron Paul, I agree with a lot, dissagree on his lack of a decent foreign policy. You cannot bury your head in the sand and hope the muslims go away.

Isolating the U.S. from the rest of the world will not work. I do agree we should stop sending any of them money if they will not work with us.

          • Al

            At Jimbob;

Sorry I didn’t mean any disrespect with the whole “low down and dirty politician” comment concerning Newt. It was actually meant as more of a compliment. I’ve noticed that many of Newt’s supporters tend to cheer him on based on the fact that he is a Washington insider and can talk trash. I wouldn’t say he’s the smartest guy that walks in the room, but he’s not dumb either. I’d bet money that on economics and history Paul is much more versed than Newt.

I personally, don’t think that replacing a Bankster backed politician with a Globalist backed Washington insider is the answer to Americas problems.

            Ron Paul 2012!!!

      • millertime

Go Newt!!! He’s the only one who can outsmart Obama’s teleprompter.

        • patriotrenegade

no, it is obvious that bama’s teleprompter can easily outsmart you.

          • Jimbob

Ban them from the debate, he will fall right on his muslim butt.

    • John

But its OK when the Democrats do the same thing in years when THEY have a full slate of candidates, eh?

Romney is about as much a real Republican as Obama or Ron Paul. The only two guys who are even close to the real thing are Gingrich and Perry, and Perry doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting nominated — nor does Ron Paul for that matter.

I’ll support whoever is the last man standing, but only because the alternative is far worse.

      • RacerJim

The fact that Ron Paul and his minions won’t support the last GOP candidate standing is reason enough to not support him.

        • gullah

          Precisely!

I read the other day that Paul refused to support McCain once he won the nomination, but then turned around and supported Cynthia McKinney! She is a communist loon and he supported her. Paul is truly senile.

      • millertime

        Go Newt!!!

      • patriotrenegade

perry: two time bilderberg attendee, NAU supporter, dream act. knewtiebag:CFR, NAFTA GATT NAU great choices.

      • gullah

Perry is terrible. In a speech he gave in 2001, next to last paragraph, first sentence, he says he is for open borders. It is posted on his governor’s website!
Then there is the white washed version of Islam that he allowed to be taught in Texan schools. Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs screened save his curriculum. Good thing, because shortly after she brought attention to it, it got scrubbed from the internet!
Merck gave him a campaign donation and then he turns around and mandates the use of Merck’s product Gardisil. Several girls died from the shot. You do not mandate a shot for a virus you might get from having sex. Perry did as a favor to Merck. Outrageous.

        • Phoebe

Your statements regarding Perry are not factually accurate.

        • Jimbob

Actually it was not mandated, it had an opt out. He should have not reccomended the stuff and apologized for doing so, I am not a Perry supporter, but try and work with the truth.

    • patriotrenegade

LOOK UP CFR, the “contract” with America failed. It was done to cover his treasonous activities with lilbilly. You deleted half the picture to the rosy side.

      • Johnnygard

The “Contract with America” was a huge success. Just the fact that it got us control of the House for the first time in 40 years made it a huge success. As for the CFR, Newt attended a meeting to discuss ways to combat global terrorism. You have an obsession, or like someone above suggested, I suspect you are being paid. You never say anything good about any conservative, unless you consider/are trying to convince us Mitt is conservative.

  • Arturo

    Trust God and no other!

  • Remington 870

I am a conservative living in SC and view Iowa and piss ant New Humpshire as insignificant to the big political picture. Many of us believe Romney does not have the meanness to defeat Obama. Romeny has Wall Street leanings, Obamacare baggage, and most recently Vulture economics. Yes…Newt is no Choir Boy, but he can out talk and get down and dirty when needed. We are in a Constitutional Crisis with this clown Obama and we need the meanest, dirtiest, and skilled nominee to defeat Obama. Quit looking for Mr. GoodBar…he ain’t out there in America. Afterall, people are upset at the Marines pissing of dead bad guys, but are not pissed off when Obama pisses on the Constitution each day. Wake Up Americans.

    • anne

Thank you for putting into words, my thoughts exactly! Romney is another Obama just a different color. Plus he is too nice to compete against Obama.

    • http://deleted cmh391

Remington, Newt said he wants to get rid of the Constitution. Actually, his words were he wants to ‘fundamentally transform’ our entire government system. He said that 2 years ago, parroting Obummer.
He also agrees with Alvin Toffler, his mentor, that the Constitution should be ‘buried’ alongside Thomas Jefferson.
Why aren’t you vetting Newt and just trusting what you now hear in debates?
Please read the link below and show it to your fellow SCans
      http://gulagbound.com/16786/

    • patriotrenegade

well your boy, knewtie airbag wants to eliminate the Constitution, while you rant on about the Constitution. Look up “the Third Wave” by a puke named toffler. Then look in the mirror.

    • millertime

Exactly!! We need Newt to beat Obama. He may not be the perfect person. None of them are but he can give it to Obama like none of them can. Look what he’s doing to Romney and he doesn’t give a crap what ya’ll think. Go Newt!!

  • dupis

lets stay focused on the objective. no human is perfect but , Newt is the only one who can beat soeburka( obumers muslim name) yes he has 3 names! this country is a mess dems will NOT! be nice and Newt has No problem saying the truth ,yes usurper & thief is a socialist! damn-it people wake up!

    • http://deleted cmh391

Newt will never beat Obummer because the Independents can’t stand him and he does not attract the youth vote. You cannot win an election without those 2 groups.
After 2008, polling showed that without the youth vote Obummer may not have won AT ALL! That is how important they are. You’re biting off your nose to spite your face if you vote for Newt. And you’ll assure Obummer gets a second term.

      • Lonnie W. Lynch

Sounds to me that you have been drinking the cool aide cmh391 and truly believe that Romney is the only one that can beat Obama…. WRONG, almost any good conservative will beat Obama, and Newt will just rip him to pieces… Go Newt !!!

        • millertime

I will pay to see Newt rip him to pieces. If they put it on pay tv they could reduce the debt. lol That would be a great debate. Obama wouldn’t have a snowball chance.

    • patriotrenegade

      no, it should be dufus

  • luvmyus

I am a strong supporter of Newt, Newt is the only candidate that is capable of exposing BO and his corrupt administration, along with the bias main street media, as well as the liberal judges. Newt knows where al the political bones are buried, that includes, Nancy, Reed, Shummer, Dodd and Barney just to mention a few. Many of the career politicians Republicans and Democrats fear Newt, and I believe is the reason they are adamant against his presidentcy.Yes Newt has baggage, but we know what that baggage is. What did we know about BO, and his baggage?
To date we still don’t know anything about BO! Don’t be swayed by half truths and innuendo, , which I confirm is not true or exaggerated, thus enforcing my support for Newt to grow. The bottom line is we need to defeat BO and expose BO
and all of his corrupt administration in 2012. Newt is the candidate to do this.
As a register Democrat I will be voting straight Republican in 2012. The Democratic Party is no more, then a Socialist party , boarding on a Communist agenda. We can not afford another McCain Jr..(Romney) Newt will tear BO up in a debate. Please give Newt a closer look and consideration. We have to defeat BO in 2012.

  • Jerry F.

I like to see that the people are smart and know who is best for the country, they see that Romney is just about the same as Obumer,His economic package is almost what we got,Newt’s is closer to Cain’s 9,9,9 Art Laffer likes it,that’s good enough for me.

    • Mary/Atlanta

Yes. Newt will give us smaller government, 15% flat tax (I think we should go to the Fair Tax); tax reform WILL turn this country around. Newt will repeal Obamacare and SUPPORT THE MILITARY. Newt has a proven record as Speaker -HE BALANCED THE BUDGET (not Clinton). Newt not only knows the issues facing our nation he has the ability to lead us out of this crisis.

      • Carl

        Mary/Atlanta, well said.

      • Mountain Saint

Newt NEVER balanced the budget. He added $800 billion to the national debt. (Look for yourself in the public record) You will have to remember Newt is a habitual liar and you can’t believe anything he says.

        • Majjohn

The 800 billion was added in the last 2 years of the Bush administration and Pelosie was the speaker.

      • patriotrenegade

he has a proven record as a traitor, and you are batting o for one. zero. How can any member of the CFR call themselves a conservative or patriotic?

  • Cramer

    I am with you Remington!

  • Mountain Saint

You have to remember that Newt has a long history of scandals and corruption. He was selected by Judical Watch as the one of the most corrupt politicians of 2011. And he is the first Speaker of the House to be fined, reprimanded and driven from office…Obviously, the uneducated rednecks in South Carolina don’t care about ethics, honesty, morality any more as long the scoundrel is one of their own, from the neighboring state of Georgia.

    • Lonnie W. Lynch

Mr. Mountain Saint you are not a true and honest conservative because if you were you would not be painting an entire group of people with the names that you are calling them… There is not doubt that you have drank all of the cool aid that has been put out about Newt by the “elite” and the far left… You need to get a grip and starting checking the real facts and get off the name calling !!!!

      • Mountain Saint

Lonnie, I have checked all of my facts on the search machine…So you are trying to write that Judicial Watch didn’t name Newt as one of the most corrupt politicians of 2011? Look it up. So you are trying to write that Newt didn’t add $800 billion to the national debt? Look it up for yourself. And so you are writing that Newt wasn’t fined, reprimanded and driven from office? What propaganda are you and the other Newt operatives buying? ..No, I am not a Conservative: I am an Independent…I don’t want to conserve the mess Bush and Obama gave us. I don’t want to conserve the garbage the Republicans and Tea Party gave us last year…I can read the South Carolina statistics and I know for a fact what kind of Republican voters they have in that state.

        • Jack Barry

Mountain Saint – thinking the Republicans and the Tea Party gave us garbage last year, explains why you like to make sweeping false generalizations about anything you disagree with.

        • Jerry F.

Everything put out on the internet isn’t always the truth,1, after the 1st 4yrs. under his speakership, there was a surplus,2,out of the 300 things that he was charged with only 1 was enforced and the fine he paid,it was put there by the dems.that way they could justify the hearings,3,he gave up his speakership,it wasn’t taken away,4,and after reading your 2 postings I can’t really see a country that you would like to live in,because it sure isn’t this one.

      • patriotrenegade

No “far left” or “elite”. What a sorry ass ignorant excuse to hang your duncecap on.

      • patriotrenegade

No, recheck your crappy “facts” (rhetoric) and get your braincircuits rewired.

    • Dorothy

I believe he was cleared of a lot of these charges .

      • patriotrenegade

        NOT

      • CJ

Yes, “cleared” by the same corrupt politicians.

      • Johnnygard

The corrupt Dems went after him for dozens of things, but the only thing that stuck was a very minor speaking fee that went to an account it shouldn’t have. Can any one of you people on this site tell me a politician that put promises in writing, kept the promises, and then accomplished things like balancing the Federal budget, getting welfare reform passed, getting tax relief on a National level, helped create jobs with good tax policy and paid down the National debt? No, but deranged Patriotren will tell you all kinds of speculation on how evil Newt is, so you can believe the renegade or believe Newts record.

    • Majjohn

No he isn’t, all that happened 10 years ago to Con. James Trafficant and he also went to prison for almost 8 years. Then you had William J Jefferson, congressmen in Lousianna with 80 k in the freezer, sentenced to 13 years in prison. Then there is Vern Bucanan with all the illegal donations. And then there is Duke Cunningham, convicted of wire fraud, money laundering and receiving 2.4 million illegally. In 2006 he went to prison for 8 years and was ordered to make restitution. Even Santoram was named the most corrupt politician in 2008 by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics.

  • el_loco_jp

SC will be the first “real” Republican primary. In the previous other two, Dems (many of them dead) were allowed to vote for the Repub they thought had the least chance of beating Odumbo (i.e. Romney and Paul). This time, only Repubs will allowed to vote. I am hoping they will select a fighter who will take it to Odummy, his supporters in congress and the sycophantic, liberal mainstream media.

    • RacerJim

Agreed. And that “fighter” is Newt Gingrich.

      • Mountain Saint

        Yes, dirty fighter.

        • OU812

          To Mt Saint:

And what do you think we have now in the WH a clean fighter in osama-lama-ding-dong??? We need someone who will fight for our country and who is from this country!! GO NEWT, ABO(anbody but osama) in 2012!!!

    • Pepper

I hope some of those “real” Republicans love America and the Constitution more than they love making the government bigger so we can go fight more wars without purpose. I hope those “real” Republicans love America and the Constitution more than they love printing and spending more money bailing out big companies.

  • http://deleted cmh391

I’m praying South Carolinans vote FOR the Constitution this time. And I hope they know about the NDAA and want the TSA abolished. MittNewtSantorum will all keep the TSA because they think they can ‘fix’ it.

    • Bob Marshall

Obama did not carry South Carolina in 2008. As for TSA, congress had a report out showing that TSA was a complete failure and a waste of $65 billion taxpayers dollars. Thomas Jefferson, said, “If we are to remain free and ignorant in a state of civilization, we expect what never was and never will be… if we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of ever citizen to be informed.” Today is a chance to do just that. Visit WND book store for unbelievable deals on books and publications. Books that i paid as much as $25,95 for $.99 One day only. Books like THE MANCHURIAN PRESIDENT. • Bob Marshall

not research to get elected but the internet sorry!

    • patriotrenegade

Your boy “airbag” wants to eliminate the Constitution you speak so proudly of. When you investigate or research get back to me.

  • Chris

I haven’t voted for a Democrat since 1976. I voted straight Republican from 1979 through 2006. In 2008 I changed. McCain got my vote but only to stop the Democrats. That didn’t work so well. But there were a bunch of moderate candidates that year too.

I think this time I’ll skip all the Republicans too. I just don’t think either party gets it and probably never will. Their time is over but sadly they hold power and $$$$. Just they same I have to vote for what is at least better.

Some say I’m wasting my vote but I have to vote for the US Constitution Party folks for every possible position (local, state or federal). Remember the Republican Party started in Jackson, MI about 1835 and it took years for it to gain enough membership to make a difference (Lincoln) . The party did well until Nixon and with the exception of Regan ti has followed the Democrats downhill every since.

Folks…..We need a serious change of direction! The Big 2 parties can’t and won’t. What will you do?

  • bluqe

You know what you can do with that poll. Gingrich was from the start someone I was considering, along with Romney, Cain, Perry, Bachmann and Paul, Huntsman maybe but with little chance. I still feel Pauls views on foriegn policy are a bit too outside the box, and for Huntsman, his belief that Obama is a “GOOD MAN’, is something I can not live with. Obama is the worst president to ever occupy the oval office. The thinking that Gingrich loses control is correct. His attacks on Romney are so far off stream as to be absurd, Cain shot himself down, One look into Perry’s eyes tells me the guy is one step away from the Cookoo’s Nest and he has troubles with counting numbers and if in fact we are serious about having a shot at beating Obama we have Romney. I believe he can get it done, and that is what we have. Could it be better, sure, maybe, but as of now he is it. The fact remains Obama has to go and it looks like Romney will be our candidate. Man up and get to work.

Newt wanted to run a positive campaign and gave Mitt many chances. What do you expect him to do? Now that he’s running ads against him why are people whining? He is only doing what he has to do to prove he’s more qualified than Mitt. And he’s smarter than any of the others. If we want to beat Obama Newt is the only one who can squash him. Romney is too much like him. Two slick willies.

    • Mountain Saint

Brendan, Newt has traditional family values? Just ask his three wives and his cohorts in Washington. Look up his record.

      • millertime

None of them have traditional family values!!! Politicians are all corrupt if you ask me. But Newt can beat Obama. Who cares how many wives he’s had. Obama has only had one and look what a great job he’s doing!!!

  • Greg

All that really matters in the end is that we get rid of the unconstitutional illegal scum bag that we have for a president.

    • RacerJim

      ^5 DITTO 5^

And Next Gingrich is the only GOP candidate who has been saying that from the git-go of the GOP primary, rather than attacking fellow candidates.

      • Jack Barry

        There you go.

      • Mountain Saint

Haven’t you been reading the news? Newt has been attacking the other candidates and proving to us that he is against Capitalism, Traditional Marriage and Moral Values in general. Newt is a Socialist and a Globalist…He is by far the worst possible candidate on the Republican side. He is a loser.

        • millertime

It was fine for Mitt to bash Newt with negative lies in ads but now that it’s happening to him everyone is whining. All he has to do is explain just like Newt did. If he can’t handle it he won’t be able to handle Obama. He’s the one who said “It ain’t no bean bag” Whatever that means. ha

      • patriotrenegade

well knewtienut is UNConstitutional. He wants to abolish it. What do you think of that?

    • Jimbob

Will someone tell me why NONE of the candidates don’t bring up obummers illegal presidency. The guy had a whore for a mother and a dingbat 1/2 black, 1/2 muslim non citizen for a father. It does not matter where he was born, he was born out of wedlock, not from 2 citizens of the U.S.

The candidate who brings this up and tells the truth will be my selection. Please someone tell Newt to step forward. He can fight with obummer on any stage and kick his illegal arse..

    • just sayin

I am happy Ron Paul is in the race. With all the former Obama voters voting for him, we know that they don’t like Obama any more and will vote for anyone to get rid of him. His getting the anti-war vote, which we never could have pulled away from Obama. By putting these supporters in a forum where they can at least hear conservative ideas, a few might turn into conservatives. Not all are LIBertarians.

      • patriotrenegade

No, because a lot of these immature brats will sit it out if their anti America diaper boy doesn’t get the nod. Then their other boy bama will win and our country is GONE with either one.

        • Pepper

“immature brats” – pot, meet kettle.

    • gullah

Precisely! It is mostly dems that are supporting Ron Paul. What does that tell you about Ron Paul?? Hmmmmm???

      • Pepper

It tells me you don’t know what you are talking about.

    • patriotrenegade

Once again you have it bass akwards. That dead people “thing” was a brilliant ruse done by the guy who fooled acorn twice. It shows the need for ID’s to vote. STOP THE LYING.

  • Jack Barry

The poll definitely suggests that most of the ‘talking head” may have some explaining to do down the road. They apparently haven’t heard that the one state that has a voted primary is a minute percentage of the total electoral votes at the convention and secondly the electoral votes are aportioned on the basis of percentage of votes obtained within the state being referred to.

  • Jack Barry

What comment are you referring to that is awaiting moderation?

  • just sayin

After hearing all the libs here talk about how the Independents hate Newt, I realized that maybe he is the one we need. Everyone is afraid to go after Obama head-on and grab him by the n%^&Ts and expose all of his failures and problems. Although not yet committed, I am beginning to think that Newt is the one who would be willing to stand toe to toe and not get flustered by Obama’s attacks. People I know are looking for someone strong, not a wimp and not a nutcase.

    • patriotrenegade

One globalist for another? We’ve been doing that for 40 years. How’s that goin for ya?

    • millertime

Newt is the man. He won’t back down from Obama. Why can’t people see that?

  • Another Veteran

It doesn’t matter if the nominee is Paul, Gingrich, Santorum or the previous poster, Obama will lose the election regardless of the billions he throws around. Obama by spending so many billions on his reelection will do something he hasn’t done with all his spending before, he will stimulate the economy by political ads! Otherwise his presidency has been a dismal failure and this next year will be filled with accusations, false claims, lies and suggestions about his opposition’s imaginary faults and failures. None of his opposition’s inadequacies will equal Obama’s gross incompetence and failures. Racism will be the watchword in 2012, if Obama wins it will be regardless of racism and if he loses, it will be due to racism. Either way he’ll clam racism-and probably keep Holder as AG and have his administration filled with racist fundamentalists who will continue to ruin this country.

    • patriotrenegade

I think the media blew a moderate Republican’s win in a home advantage, liberal, blue state with a semi-open primary all out of proportion. I’m don’t think Mitt is electable. He must answer the questions about Bain. There are capitalists, and then there are capitalists. Some are “used car salesmen” with sociopathic tendencies and others add real value to society, raising the lake and, thus, all boats on the lake. If Mitt was a corporate raider, he’s unelectable. Americans desire someone committed to fair play, not someone who cut throats for a living. Obama will beat the living hell out of Mitt if he doesn’t have a positive, convincing answer to the Bain issue. I’m for Newt and I take heart in the fact that Newt has a much better record of winning than Mitt. He has a much better record of conservatism than Mitt. He has proven himself much, much more honest than Mitt and Mitt’s shills. And, Newt is just plain smarter than Mitt. The fact that Mitt hasn’t been able to “KO” Newt, considering his resources and well-oiled machine, should give him pause as we move into South Carolina and Florida. For those who really want Mitt, you had better start praying — you’re going to need a miracle.

    • millertime

Newt is the smartest by far and can beat Obama!! I will pay to see the debate!!

    Hey Larry….
Pakistan has 100 nukes …. Isreal has 300 nukes …
Every country around them have nukes but so what right?
The media is once again spreading lies as they did about Iraq. On 911 Saudi Arabia put the most terrorist on the planes than any other country. Saudi Arabia also has been the staging area for all the attacks against fellow Arab states … International news agencies ran stories of Alqiada coming out of Saudi. Saudi has nukes and Alqiada why didn’t we go in and bomb them? China and Russia have stated in no unsure terms … If Iran is attack there will be war. So is it worth it? World War 3 so Iran can’t have nuclear power, cause that’s all the enrichment
Abilities they have. Iran getting a nuke is as insignificant as a stick in a gun fight. We have thousands of nukes.

All you intellectual giants throwing one liner ad hominems at Ron Paul and those who support him, what is your candidate’s position on these unconstitutional violations of our God-given liberty and freedom?
    - NDAA, specifically the part that gives the president power to indefinitely detain American citizens without trial or murder anyone his chosen committee deems a threat
    - the PATRIOT act
    - SOPA
    - TSA
    - The Federal Reserve’s manipulations of the money supply and interest rates

    Dr.Ron Paul 2012 !!!

  • TeaPartyPatriot4ever

Mitt Romney, in the wake of his New Hampshire primary victory, the former governor likens himself to President Barack Obama.

During an appearance on CBS today, Romney said his job-cutting actions at his Bain Capital investment firm were no different from Obama’s bailouts of the U.S. auto industry.

Romney said, quote- “In the general election I’ll be pointing out that the president took the reins at General Motors and Chrysler – closed factories, closed dealerships laid off thousands and thousands of workers – he did it to try to save the business,”.. unquote

  • TeaPartyPatriot4ever

This is not merely about Romney’s legal or illegal dubious corporate raider practices at Bain Capital.. It is also about Romney’s core values of Morality, Integrity, and Ethics, thus is about Romney’s personal character, especially if he wants to be the U.S. President. And judging by his actions as the CEO of Bain Capital, as well as Gov of Mass, I would say, he is not a person of Integrity, Trust, Honor, Ethics, and Moral character and fiber, whatsoever at all..

So the Romney Bain issue matters, as it is all about who we really want to be at America’s helm, as the next U.S. President. Someone who exemplifies Reagan’s courage, morality, integrity, and ethics, ie; Conservative Values and Principles, or cronyism, false conservatism, and no personal character qualities of worth..

    • Mountain Saint

I don’t like Romney but please give him some credit for being a successful businessman. He did save 75% of the companies.

  • Buck

Gingrich has some good ideas , knows what to say , but can not be trusted any farther than you can throw him . On the other hand RON PAUL has mostly good ideas , can’t speak as eloquently as the rest of the pack , BUT you can trust him intensly more than all the rest to try and recover our lost constitutional republic that Benjamin Franklin dared us to try and keep . RON PAUL for PRESIDENT !!!
