Gov. Christie: I’ll be ‘much more ready’ in 2016

Will New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie run for president in 2016?

The Republican told Oprah Winfrey it all depends on what happens in November, but he sounded confident about one thing.

“I’ll be much more ready four years from now than I am now,” said Christie, who rebuffed numerous entreaties to jump into this year’s race.

Christie sat down with the talk-show queen for an hour-long interview that aired Sunday night on her eponymous cable network, OWN. He talked about his weight, brash style and Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor he’s been actively campaigning for in the 2012 election.

As for those heady days in the fall when he went from “no way” to listening to people who beseeched him to run this year, Christie said his “internal compass” didn’t feel right.
