Victoria Jackson’s conservative view

In the late 1980s and early ’90s, Victoria Jackson was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” doing gymnastics during “Weekend Update” and starring in memorable skits like “Hanukkah Harry.” Now focused on conservative politics rather than comedy, Jackson uses her energy and signature shrill voice as a vocal supporter of the tea party movement. Her latest endeavor is “PolitiChicks,” a Web-based weekly talk show dubbed the conservative answer to “The View.”

Along with co-hosts and conservative activists Ann-Marie Murrell, Jannique Stewart and Jennie Jones, Jackson shares her controversial views on the president, Muslims in America and Occupy Wall Street.

The show has been called anti-gay and anti-Muslim, but the criticism is nothing new for Jackson, who has called President Barack Obama a “communist” and spoken out against a gay kiss on the Fox show “Glee.”

Jackson talked to POLITICO about “PolitiChicks,” conservatives in pop culture and running for office.
