Treasury Department Data: Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All Presidents from George Washington Through George H.W. Bush Combined

The Obama administration passed another fiscal milestone this week, according to new data released by the Treasury Department. As of the close of business on Oct. 3, the total national debt was $14,837,099,271,196.71—up about $44.8 billion from Sept. 30.

That means that in the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion–more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.

    Where are the real “Congress & Senate when they are needed most??? Obama as I understand it has declared war on “Libya” without consulting congress; and without congresses authorization… {UNCONSTITUTIONAL} and is a {IMPEACHABLE} offense… not one peep from the halls of “Congress” the “Senate” or from our Media… Obama fired the CEO of G.M. and not a peep… When will someone step forward and start the {IMPEACHMENT} process…???

Congress IS the Senate and House of Representatives. No wonder the left makes fun of you. You sound like a bunch of rubes who don’t even know what you’re talking about.       The PRESIDENT does not increase debt. CONGRESS does. It is the job of our senators and representatives to keep an eye on spending. If the president asks for money or specific spending, Congress can and SHOULD say NO.

        What isnt being factored into any of the debt/deficit numbers is unfunded mandates and that is where ovomits deficit spending leaps off the charts to well over 50 trillion!!!!!! Which dwarfs spending deficits of all presidents in US history combined by many trillions of dollars!
        I keep hearing people bash bush and say that he is responsible for our current budget deficit but that is FALSE!!!!!! ovomit has sent the deficit into orbit not bush !!!!! ovomits deficit spending dwarfs that of bush!!!!
        And he has done it in less than 3 years!!! Our budget deficit for feb 2011 under ovomit was greater than bushes entire year 2007 budget deficit!!!

    Keep in mind that he’s not done trying to destroy us.
    How far will we be in debt after he finishes his remaining term?

    Very clever wording….”through H.W. Bush”. The spin-master who concocted this bit of “news” knows very well that the same could have been said about Reagan and Bush Jr.

    Reagan doubled the national deficit in his first 3 yrs in office, whereas it took Bush Jr. 5 yrs to do the same. The same provocative statement could have easily have been said, and was said, about them.

    There… Now Obama has something to really be proud of. He’s gone further faster than any other human being to destroy America financially (with honorable mentions for Pelosi, Reid, Durbin, Frank, and ex senator Dodd). Similarly he resides at the apex of corrupt Presidents (only rivaled by Nixon and Harding). And finally, Obama has earned the overall title of worst President of the last fifty years. His final year will likely prove to be even more disturbing. How sad for us all.

    The headline is meant to be deceptive. Reagan increased the debt more than Carter, and Bush increase the national debt more than Clinton and Obama isn’t even close to the debt incurred while Bush was sitting in the Oval Office.

    I am completely out of things to say about obama at this point. Everyone who cares about this great nation is wondering how he is getting by with that he and michele are doing. I am in my late 60′s and I have never seen anything like this man and yet no one is doing anything about it. Why, for Gods sake are they letting him get by with it???? What I still cannot understand is “why” so many Democrat politicians are on board for this. While they mainly lean toward socialism, why would they actually support the ruination of our country?     Bush might not be good president for some of you and he might be the cause of some problem in this country,but the economy was not bad at all, I know that for a fact because I have a small business and I make a good income until obama take office in 2009 and everything hit the pan. I use to work 24-7 and I still can keep up but now I’m fixing to shut down my only income which I help to pay the bill. Maybe some of you still believe in him but in my book he the worst president who ever hold the office and I hope some of you will woke up and see what kind of person he really is.
