The U.S. announcement of plans to pull American troops from Iraq by the end of the year and the dramatic demise of Libyan strongman Muammar Qadhafi are both “successes” demonstrating a new, positive direction for U.S. foreign policy, President Barack Obama argued in his weekly address Saturday.

Obama left the White House for the drive to Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland to play golf.
