Union Striker Uses Own Daughter as Human Shield

It’s only been a few days since 45,000 CWA and IBEW members walked off their jobs at Verizon, however, incidents of harassment, sabotage, and illegal picketing have already begun to pile up.

On Tuesday, Verizon obtained an injunction in Pennsylvania and filed for one in Delaware “to prevent ‘illegal’ and ‘reprehensible’ strike activities such as keeping managers out of buildings.”

In one deplorable incident, a foul-mouthed IBEW member in New Jersey put his young daughter in front of a Verizon truck turning into a driveway as he berated the driver using expletives.

        Verizon sold out to Frontier in my area and Frontier has had a hell of a time fixing the shoddy workmanship left behind by the Verizon workers!!!!!!! That being said, I do not understand how the union and the union members think violence is going to get them what they want! The greedy picketers where picketing when Trenton’s finest pulled up and told them they were trespassing the plant was close for good. I laughed 15 minutes. Acme told these clowns they could not afford to give them what they wanted because of people getting their rubber from over seas, and ask them to bare with them and give a little. Right to work is the only way to go and get justice for the people who risk their money to start a company and create more work for others.     Take a look at Verizon’s pay for CEOs and then look at the take home pay of an average worker… the disparity is so in your face only a Republican would be too stupid to realize why they are striking. I would not have cursed like that in front of my children, but I would have stood up for myself and been on strike. I live in one of those wonderful right to work states and my salary stinks.. Unions are for the middle class and Conservatives are for corporations- so which is destroying our country?       Another libtard speaks. What has been lost in this country is the understanding that labor is a commodity just as much as corn. the REAL cost should fluctuate with the amount of labor available to the marketplace. If labor gets tight – lots of jobs for everyone – then labor prices (wages) go up and everyone benefits from the booming times. When slow times come (like now, recession, get it?) then there is an abundance of labor and the price per hour should go down. Because of governmental interference and union distortions of that free market, the cost of labor stays high so a far greater number of people get laid off rather than take voluntary adjustments.

      Regarding CEO pay, the many union and non-union retirement funds invest in the stock of companies in order to gain dividends and capital growth. They would not pay a CEO what they do unless that CEO is worth it and most of what a CEO gets in the way of compensation is in a form that requires performance goals to be met. He works for the stockholders, not the employees. The Board of Directors are paid by the stockholders to make good decisions and to keep good people they have to pay them what the market requires (the one area where the labor market is free from government interference – oh, wait, not any more…they are trying to control that, too, now). Someone working on an assembly line is simply not worthy of as much money as someone who is entrusted with millions of dollars of other people’s money that he is told to spend in a responsible manner. He does it or he is gone. If he does he deserves his reward.

      Yes, there are places that abuse their workers, but it is far from as common as the unions and libtards want everyone to believe. When such employers are encountered, the easiest and best thing to do is look elsewhere for work. It is not your problem unless you make it your problem. If people refuse to work for the bad employers they would quickly go out of business.

      There are six areas that we see prices escalating faster than most others. They are the same six areas most heavily subsidized by government or over-regulated by government: Labor (minimum wage and labor rules), Medical (Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security Disability), Housing (CRA, FHA, Loan Guarantees), Agriculture/Food (Farm Subsidies and excessive regulations), Energy (subsidies, restrictions on drilling/exploration, EPA regulatory limitations), and Education (student loans, grants, etc.) The last is a good one because the only reason tuitions are and have been rising so fast is that they know the government will pay the bill regardless of how much debt a student racks up. If to took the props out from under the schools tuitions would drop like a stone. Get government out of the market and the market takes care of everyone.

      Get government out of our lives and we all live better.

      For example, a Master Mechanic is paid $600K to 800K per year in salary and benefits and must be staffed on every site with a crain, even though the crane manufacturer provides the repair services for their equipment.

    Yes, there was a time when children were being misused when unions were very helpful in righting many wrongs. That time has passed. Unions nowadays “demand” or we’ll shut you down! Threats and violence!

    A company gets started by individuals who invest to get it going. As they grow, they are able to hire more people. The investors deserve some return on their investments. As they become more prosperous, they make sure they have the best of the best running them. That takes a very good salary or the “best for the job” will hire on somewhere else.

    The employed get raises as the income grows because the business wants to keep the good employees and also have the right to fire those who do not do their jobs. Unions want the bosses to be unable to fire people who do not produce for them. What is the paycheck for if not to make good products for the company? Unions want to take over the companys and run them so the union leaders can pull off large sums of money to use for political purposes. Unions are in the business of corrupt politics and nothing more these days. They believe the business only needs to break even–with no profits.

    So why go into business if all you can hope for is to break even? With the new insurance laws the businesses can’t afford to hire more folks. Astronomical tax increases are hanging over their heads. Its an unknown. Would it be smart to hire more folks knowing you may very well lose your business in the near future? Do they welcome union activity that always leads to more and more corruption.

    At any rate, when the do-nothings get all they require without working, there won’t be any businesses. No businesses, no products for the do-nothings to even want. When the unions are in control, how are they going to keep things going when nobody wants to work and wants everything for free. “just because I’m me” won’t go very far when there is nothing to dole out.

    It is bad enough for that idiot to use his daughter as a “human roadblock”, but to use that kind of language in front of her is an absolute despicable thing to do. I bet she feels real proud of her father right now. She can tell her children when they grow up that their grandfather has a big “Potty mouth”; that is of course if she isn’t killed by standing in front of a truck. The picket line is no place for a child. I would contact family services and have her removed from that home. Then I would press charges for child endangerment.

    Yes, these people are parasites…they have lost site of what is really important in this life..their freedom and the well being of their families…I hope the end of unions has come..it might be kicking and screaming, but it has to go…i am not saying that companies should treat their employees any old way, but there are different approaches to keeping business and workers civil….the unions have outlived their usefulness..time for them to go the way of jimmy hoffa..where ever he is…i think he got offed because he got soft and the union would have no part of that..     Just another example of your core Obama supporters. This IS what they’re all about. They harass, threaten, damage property, etc. The Wisconsin teachers who stormed the State Capital did something like $1.5 million in damage to the capital building and grounds. What I’d like to know is who’s paying for that? Why aren’t any teachers being fired for the crimes they committed? Why are some of them up on charges for bringing students with them, which means they pulled them out of classes thereby encouraging truancy. Those are crimes. Those are punishable offenses.

    It’s about time union thugs are held accountable for their thuggery and charged with crimes, and loose their jobs. Others more deserving of a job should get their job and they should find their asses out on the street. It’s one thing to strike, if it’s a legitimate labor issue. But to resort to extortion through vandalism and threatening people is inexcusible. It should be grounds for immediate dismissal.

    I was a cop years ago in the Chicago area. The police union was no better. As a rookie I was threatened because I refused to join them on an illegal police strike. They’re not allowed to strike, so they call in sick en mass in what’s called a “blu flu.” I refused. Said I wanted no part of their activities. Got threatened that my legs might get broken if I didn’t. I went to complain up the chain but didn’t get any support. As a rookie, I had no one to turn to. I got out and moved to a further west suburban department where that nonsense didn’t occur. I eventually left police work and went military some time later, but at least the second department wasn’t corrupt like my first.

    I never like unions. This idea that we were forced to be members and forced to pay ‘dues’ just never sat well with me. I didn’t like being forced to finance an organization the methods of which I didn’t like or agree with. But that’s unionism for you. It forced you to comply. Liberty is lost and they use your money for what THEY want, not what you necessarily want.

    I now live in Virginia, and right to work state. No forced union membership here. There’s a world of difference between Virginia and Illinois and I can tell you Virginia is the superior model. I’ve NEVER go back to thug city.

    Yeah, you’re right. I recall a strike incident in which the striker who was picketing was run over and very seriously injured by the truck he was trying to block. Wouldn’t this union creep have been proud if that had happened to his own daughter, willing to give ANYTHING for union success, profits, influence, power, control, etc. Nice going union jerks!! Why not just gather up all your newborns and infants and lay them out across the driveway entrance?? You union people make be gut-wrenching SICK!

    How cool would it be if everybody that has Verizon services simply cancelled everything, not to punish Verizon but if the lost say a couple million contracts they would have to let some of the scumbag union slugs go. That is poetic justice at work. The unions are destroying our country with insane demands that are driving some of the best jobs in country overseas. I was in union for 11 years i hated every day. I fought them on most issues. All companies with union shops should close and relocate to right to work states.

    There needs to be a push to make Mark Steyn’s new book “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon” into a movie in the next 6 months. Filled it with facts, videos, and the obnoxious liberals and the plan to move America forward.

    Steyn can sell shares for its production. This will get the information out there that America needs to vote correctly. Charge enough to cover costs. If I loose money on my shares, so what. If Obama wins, he’ll get it all anyway. I’m putting this everywhere so you’ll see it again.
