The Tea Party. Folks, this is actually hilarious what they’re trying to do with the impression the Tea Party is fading. But here is actually, first, the Gallup story: “Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. Results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults; Margin of error is ±3 percentage points,” and it clearly shows him here at 39% approve and 54% disapprove.

It’s a new low in the daily approval rating at Gallup. Gallup doesn’t even mention that! They just write the number in there: 39%. They just posted their chart, their boilerplate text, and they left it at that. So the casual reader would have no way of knowing this is actually a new low for Obama. In fact, 39% approval rating and 54% disapprove are the worst numbers of Obama’s presidency in both categories. Now, I’m sure Gallup refrained from trumpeting Bush’s low numbers in exactly the same way, right? Ha-ha. No, just kidding. I couldn’t find any actual article on the Gallup site about these latest numbers. They simply post this chart that you’re familiar with seeing and the boilerplate text above it.
