The problem is,there is no confidence and certainty in the fiscal vision emanating from Washington D.C. and hence revenues and receipts are down. We are not setting the conditions or creating an environment for economic and job growth. For all of you,that is what has to change,and that is where I am committed to seeing change and not the empty rhetorical doublespeak of 2008.

I suppose the President forgot that 47% of wage earning households in America do not pay federal income taxes.

In the area of foreign policy,the United States has officially recognized the Libyan rebels as the “legitimate” government of Libya. Now,I am just a simple fella from down South,but I recall a previous Democrat President recognizing a bunch of undefined ideological zealots called the Taliban…and we all see how that ended up!

The voices of the American people who want sound fiscal,taxation,and regulatory policy need to be heard this week. I am issuing a “call to action” – let the White House,Nancy Pelosi,and Harry Reid hear how you feel. Are there REALLY 80% of Americans who want higher taxes?

I must confess,when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker,I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.

Social Security is such a low income to live on and survive with. Try it sometime! Disabled, disabled veterans, homeless as Mike has pointed out, cannot pay taxes, because the income they receive is WAYYYYYYYYY BELOW Poverty level as it is. I am a disabled person, that cannot work due to my disability! This was proven thru the Social Security Admin, Judges, that awarded my benefit to me. I met with them, took the oath and told only the truth. I was going to pay tax, but read in the annual tax book you receive, that if your income was below a certain level, that you were not required to file taxes. I fell into that category. and still do!!

It depends on how you define tax. To me (and throughout the history of taxation) tax is something that is gathered from people on their earnings above what is required for them to live. So a dirt poor farmer’s tax may be a small portion of his crop, a wealthy merchant may have to pay a substantial amount of his profits. Bottom line is, tax that is “flat” is not really so because paying 10% of ones gross income when you make say $10,000 a year has a HUGE impact on one’s life compared to a 10% tax on someone making $10 million a year.

Senator Fienstien once stated that she would would like to see all U.S. citizens taxed at 90% and that the government could distribute what money they thought we should have as they know more about what is best for us than we do.

I don’t think the “fair tax”, is the best solution either. As others have said you end up with hard to track bartering and unreported sales not being taxed. But the main reason I disagree is because I don’t see how is it fair for someone who produces more and hence consumes more to, have to be more fiscally responsible for supporting our troops and the other few legitimate functions of our Federal Government? I would prefer to see a “citizens tax”, where every person upon reaching the age of 18 starts paying a yearly tax (say $500-&1000), that increases yearly up until the age of 40 where it might be say $3000 per year. Then it could start decreasing back down until age 65 where it vanishes. That way everyone shares equally in the support of our governement, regardless of whether you work, produce, consume or whatever. Let people be lazy if that is their pursuit of happiness, but they still get the same access to personal rights as everyone else, and share the same responsibilities for supporting our government as everyone else.

Ray and Chris T. You don’t understand the Fair Tax. All other federal taxation goes away. When you are taxed on your income it is a disincentive to create income. Foolishness! When you are taxed on your discretionary spending you are actually choosing how you are taxed. If you are a poor dirt farmer you will likely not be paying much tax because you will purchase used whenever possible and thus not be taxed.

What a large group of people have been trying to apply is called “The Fair Tax” which is a consumption tax, meaning a sales tax!
Everyone pays when they make a purchase, a NEW purchase. No tax on used items such as used cars, boats, clothing, jewelry, etc.
Low income and social security/fixed incomes would receive rebates on either a monthly or quarterly or some kind of regular basis. Imagine getting your paycheck with zero federal taxes deducted! You decide what you want to pay and when!
Anyone can google ‘the fair tax’ for details or contact a Fair Tax advocate and ask any question you may have. The irony is that the government would have much more money than ever before and it wouldn’t have to be borrowed from China or anywhere.

The Fair Tax, as written, will replace all income taxes. Therefore, the taxes will only be levied on consumption. Your mis-information and the misconception of the Fair Tax is what’s standing in its way. While the Fair Tax might not be perfect, it is far superior, in my opinion, to the alternatives, including a flat income tax which is regressive in nature.

We all agree change needs to be made. Perhaps it’s time we stop arguing and move on something that actually works instead of the mess we have now.

I think a lot is being missed here. How much the Feds get has nothing to do with how much they spend. They will always spend more than they get in taxes.

Over and over we have seen that the best way to get things done is to open up information on a need and let the entrepreneurs take to the battle fields to fix the problem. There has never been any need that the free trade system couldn’t do better at less cost than any governmental entity.

We have idiots that have never worked for their food running the government. I still claim that very limited terms of service nwould function to cut costs and balance the budget. That would also limit graft, theft, ignorance, etc. Let’s clean the houses of our government now and try to save our country.

As a tax preparer, I see there is much confusion among you responders. The Earned Income Credit and other benefits enable a person with little or no income to get refunds. However, a person or family with $50,000 of income may not have to pay Income Tax because of the deductions they are entitled to. Therefore, much of the writing and talk about Income Tax payments is not understood by the average American today because of the complicated rules for deductions and charges that apply.

Conceivable but improbable because that $50,000 income family would have to have 2 dependent children, very high mortgage interest payments, high charitable donations, a lot of unreimbursed medical expenses, some unreimbursed job related expenses — in short, they’d be living like paupers.

In over 20 years of tax preparation, I’ve only ever seen one family like this and they were driving a 20 year old beater, got their clothes from Goodwill, and depended on food banks for much of their groceries. Most others simply go bankrupt.

Hmmmm…….Flat tax….in the Bible, God asks for 10%, but says “render unto Caesar….” However, why should Caesar get more than God? I’ve paid taxes for over 50 years–and now even on my retirement-which is not that great. 10% on 10,000 (1000) wouldn’t be so bad if divided monthly–still,. they would likely draw a minimal line somewhere. If you don’t pay any tax, you shouldn’t get the “welfare” check at the expense of those of us who do! I’d definitely like to see the system–irs and Ca–simplified. That’s right, and it stops the government from buying votes, as they do today. A politician who directly pays money to a voter for his vote goes to jail for doing that, but the government does that all the time through many elected officials and is given a pass. So how is that? Well, first the government created the “dependency class” starting with the Great Society’s War on Poverty. Charity is a humane concept and has been generally successful when run by philanthropic or religious organizations because the people usually recover to be useful workers. But the execution of charity by the government is a complete bust, because it usually never returns its recipients to useful work, rather assigns them to the dependency class forever. This group of people will then reliably return these politicians to office that provide their charity. If that isn’t buying votes, I don’t know what is.

The idea of the Fair Tax is good as long as the government doesn’t have to do ANTHING to administer it. No rebates or prebates. This would keep it fair and truly illiminate the IRS. The danger is if the rate is set too high it will reduce public spending and encourage a black market. Of course, the government could use the former IRS employees to investigate abuses. NOT!

A “flat tax” would work if it took a vote of the people to raise the level of that tax. Anything other than that would be urinating into the wind. Anything done to change the Internal Revenue Code (That is anything done to eliminate the Code AND the IRS) would require a nationwide vote. That’s the only way to stop the insane spending that our illustrious Congress carries out.

The flat tax seems fair, but what would the rate have to be? I have heard for 20 -30 % . A $20000 car would be 24-26000. A $1000 tv would be $12-1300.

It sounds good on the surface but needs more consideration of the effects.

I prefer a fair tax – that is a tax on goods bought. Someone making $10,000 is not going to buy as much as someone making $10 million. It would be a lot “fairer” for everyone. The only thing I can think of that might cause problems with a fair tax is that the person making $10 million might try to get sneaky and buy product from out of the country. But, that could be solved too by putting a tariff on product bought out of the country equal to a fair tax.

You are incorrect sir. I haven’t had a job since Obama took office. I was able to collect unemployment insurance for 18 months BUT I had to pay state and Federal income taxes on it. I think you will find that a majority of the those who don’t pay taxes are collecting assistance and are comfortable doing so, why work. I had to cash in my 401K early to make ends meet and next year I will have to pay a penality and taxes on that too!

Thank you for articulating what I’ve always believed, for the most part. We do, however, have many U.S. citizens living in for example, the Appalachian Mountains area. Little children living in abandoned buses….I know this to be true because my husband delivered clothing to them when he belonged to the Lions Club. These people aren’t given media attention or any other type of attention, because they don’t accept public assistance, they don’t scream for equality and justice, and they’re white, native born citizens.

The poverty level is much lower than stated. Those called poor mostly have all amenities, cable Tv, air-conditioning, cars etc and mainly decent roofs over their heads. In no way are they really poor.

And the older generations remember living hand to mouth on a daily basis. Past the Great Depression, people still struggled for years. You are correct, the people in this country today have NO idea about poverty. Welfare people get a free check, food stamps, HUD housing (which has turned into the pretty brick houses on Main Street in your town!). They get cell phones, for Pete’s sake!! For your information, I have friends daughter who may work on a good year for 20 or 30 days and usually gets a refund of $6000 to $7000 every year. Actually, not only do most of the 47% pay NO taxes, but they RECIEVE huge tax refunds worth THOUSANDS of dollars. I used to volunteer to do tax returns and you’d be amazed at how many people were ticked off because they ONLY got three or four thousand. Multiply this by how many people are getting returrns and it’s a substantial number. Franklin was correct when he said that people must be made uncomfortable in their poverty.

I agree Mr Right! I lived in Provo Utah for a yaer and was amazed at how the mormons kept their people off welfare. EVERYBODY worked! If you needed assistance you workied, pl;ain and simple. Uneducated? Work at the farm. Wheelchair bound? Sew up diapers to sell at Deseret Industries. They had the farm, the Industries and they found something for anyone receiving assistance to do, no exceptions. They said it was good for the people, gave them self esteem and they contributed to their community. Produce from the farm was sold as well as the items made, to produce the income to pay the workers. These people didn’t use public welfare. This was many years ago, I don’t know if it is still the same today. But why can’t our government do a similar thing?

The democrats have made being on welfare comfortable for the recipients, huge mistake, they should not get checks, they should have to go to a government store and get their cheese, eggs, powdered milk, etc., if you made welfare like it used to be where it sucks to be on it, people would strive to get off of it. I also fully agree that people who are on an assistance program must take (and pass ) drug tests, and work where the city they live in tell them to. IE: Picking up trash, painting and or cleaning the city, if an inspector comes by your free section 8 housing and finds it’s a mess, they kicked out, if they are too old or have a disability of some kind, then the strong able man or woman that lives next door would be forced to help you care for it, each person would have to out in 40 hrs a week to be eligible, IF I have to work 40 to 60 hrs a week to pay my bills because the government takes 40% of it then the parasites of America should also be required to wake up early and take their lazy ass to work. If this was found to be true, the federal government has been operating in an illegal manner since before the great depression and what the presidency of Herbert Clark Hoover 1929-1933 and Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1934-1942 did to try and lessen the impact of the depression did not help and most scholars now say that the actions of Roosevelt made the depression linger. It was World War Two that ended the depression and got the country back to work. Obama basically did the same thing as Roosevelt messing with the financial market, making work projects , and throwing money at the economy on things just as stupid as what Obama did. Dems just don’t get it, it is impossible to tax your way out of a hole, and we are in a big one, Obama in is first two years in office has spent more money, in the trillions of dollars, than what Bush spent in eight years and during the intense fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for eight years at no small cost, yet our anointed one spent way more than bush. Bush had a deficit when he left office of around 900 billion dollars. Obama had a deficit in his first year in office of 1.6 Trillion dollars and in his second year his deficit was even larger. And now he wants to raise the debt ceiling from 14 trillion to 18 trillion, with no plan to cut sending and raising taxes on everyone. If we do not stop this administration we are on a path to end up like Greece, total chaos riots in the streets, no jobs, no money, no food, and who knows what else. I have the feeling if he is not stopped from his wild spending spree this country will descend into oblivion .

This is where the financial crises and all that followed started from when housing went bust, and it spread from Fannie and Freddy. And all that money that they threw at the problem didn’t help a damn thing, just like in the great depression. Democrats just don’t learn from previous errors and mistakes, they think they can tax there way out of this hole that they got us into. If they raise taxes it is just going to make things even worse. Splitting the vote is what I’m so concerned about myself. I don’t think Ron Paul would be the right man to go against Obama because Ron Paul says we don’t have a Muslim problem. That’s very upsetting! And, as much as I like Allen West, I’m concerned about the fact that a lot of people wouldn’t vote for him because he’s black. I don’t think the nation is ready for a female president. I just can’t see that happening. So, there has to be someone who has a strong presence to defeat Obama. Personally, I haven’t seen that candidate stand up yet and it’s a great cause of concern to me.

It appears that the heads of both major political parties are completely unable to understand anything that they do not see as helping make them the leaders in income. They are all stuck in this ZERO gain mindset that says there must be a loser for each gainer.

They are unwilling to make the country better for all of us unless they can remain in command. They are completely unable to accept that bureaucrats in control has been the problem and that it can NEVER be the answer. Bureaucrats do NOT create wealth. They stifle it. They do not invent, they prevent innovation, after all innovation is change and bureaucrats exist by preventing change.

Until the United States created a nation that allowed each person the freedom to do as they wished and create new products, the world had very low rates of invention. The standard of living grew very slowly. The limitations of a king, or dictator, or caliphe, or any other director of the public good to promote was the only innovation allowed. The result was invention by one person. It did not work well.

American opened the possibilities for all. And in less than 200 years this upstart nation of farmers became the most powerful nation in the world, with the highest standard of living and the envy of the world.

We must return freedom to the citizens of the United States. We must re-enforce our immigration laws of the 1960s, or perhaps of the 1900s. They worked. Immigrants came here to become Americans, not to just move their house and sponge off of the Americans.

We can do it. will we?

The IRS ( The Infernal Revenue Service) should add a line on the filling form of our taxes VOLUNTARY INCOME TAX where all persons who have , as President Obama said, more money that they need can, VOLUNTARILY donate all and any amount they do not need.
I am positive that President Obama, Mrs. Nancy Pelosi, Secretary Gainer, Senator John Kerry-Heinz, and all the millionaires and billionaires of this country will contribute and every person, that do not pay any income tax and receive government help and agree with the President, will send any money that they do not need ($10.00 $20.00 or $100.00) to the Government for the re-distribution of wealth in our country.

The whites of this land in this present generation can never bend, or give up enough to the black race of people to ever apease their race of people, or be forgiven for what some few farmers of the white people’s forefathers providing daily bread, housing and the needs for black people as slave workers on their farms in past history. So what it’s not happening today the blacks are more free and have more civil rights and freedoms than the whites.

Although America’s present white generation is not at all responsible for the past history of their forefathers being known as slave owners, the black race of people will never forgive them, so blacks do hold grudges and racist hatred for the white people of America, and when they come to full control of power in the U.S. only then will ignorant white people begin to see, and wish they had stood up for what few rights they have left.

The health care reform bill was not written long before Obama became president, it was written by a group of persons not in the government circle. You may be waiting for the surgery for about 6 months or longer, as they actually hope you die as these socialist medical care do not have enough money to pay for the expensive treatments such as implants of hearts or lungs and other organs. You will most likely die before you get the needed surgery.The federal government needs to be pared down it is way to big. The Declaration of Independence states that when any government becomes destructive of the rights of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, that the people have the right to alter or abolish it and institute a new government. My property taxes go to fund the local school district so the Dept of Ed doesn’t pay for that. I have always excelled in math, but I am now stumped. Ten years ago, I earned $30,000 per year, and went on a vacation, and paid my bills on time, and even put alittle away for retirement. I was 48 years old. Now, I am 58 years old, and earn $52,000, and cannot take a vacation, am behind on my taxes, and cannot put any money aside for retirement. We all know utilities, oil, gasoline, food, clothes, and everything went up in cost, but the million dollar question is: How much do I have to make, ten years from now? I will be 68(God willing) and cannot possibly work all the hours that I do now. Maybe welfare is the answer, as I see them gambling 3x per week at the casino, drive a better car than I drive, buy steak, and lobster, which I cannot afford to buy, and they pay no taxes! I may have just answered my own question.

I guess I might as well throw in my two cents worth. I am on Social Security Disability. I am 61 years old and paid into the US run ponzi scheme for about thirty years before I went on disability. I have had 7 back surgeries and 4 knee surgeries (two of those being replacements). I get about $1450/month. After paying ALL my bills, I have about $250 to live on. Mind you, I live in a rural area where the nearest grocery store is nearly 30 miles away. Out of that $250, I have to budget in fuel, groceries, propane, and all the other things that don’t come under the “grocery” column. I am not eligible for food stamp…I am not eligible to get my Medicare Premiums waived…and I am not eligible for Medicaid because I “make” too much money!! So, I would like to know how in the heck people – who some of you claim are making a substantial income – are able to get government assistance? I don’t know what the government considers “below the poverty line,” but I’m here to tell ya that it must be a LOT less than what I get per month!

I hate to pop any one’s ballon but some of these people that commenters are raving about have been the government long enough to know what has been going on for a long time .(years) If they didn’t know about this one world gov yhat these people have been working on for so long then they are about as smart as a rock. I keep reading comments of the us of a helping all these countrys and how much they hate us. I think it maybe that most of the hate comes from the leaders of these countrys. ICE agents warn Americans “to brace themselves for what’s coming”

In the wake of the recent memo from the Obama administration which
announced “prosecutorial \discretion” in dealing with illegal aliens,
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents across the country
have been speaking out what many of them are calling a “backdoor
amnesty.”

On Wednesday, ICE Union president Chris Crane told PRNewswire: “Any
American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for
what’s coming. This is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at
stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States.

Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the
Administration is now implementing it through agency policy.”
Crane continued: “ICE and the Administration have excluded our union and
our agents from the entire process of developing policies, it was all kept
secret from us, we found out from the newspapers. ICE worked hand-in-
hand with immigrants rights groups, but excluded its own officers.”
Also ignored by the press, was last year’s no confidence vote ICE agents
gave Obama appointee, ICE director John Morton.

The National ICE Council represents about 7,000 agents and support staff.
Those agents, just as many American citizens are also convinced that the
new policy, which gives special preference to illegal aliens who have a
relative who has served in the military, those who are enrolled in any
education program and even those who are pregnant or nursing is simply
a move from an unpopular president, desperate for re-election.

Crane said: “The desires of foreign nationals illegally in the United States
were the framework from which these policies were developed. The result
is a means for every person here illegally to avoid arrest or detention, as
officers we will never know who we can or cannot arrest.” Perhaps, most
troubling are the “secret” orders under which ICE agents are reportedly
now operating. “Our officers are already under orders not to make arrests
or even talk to foreign nationals in most cases unless another agency has
already arrested them; you won’t find that written in any public ICE
policy,” Crane said.

Finally, this warning from the ICE Union president: “I think the writing is on
the wall for every person concerned about good government and effective
immigration reforms – the things happening at ICE represent neither. We
are asking everyone to please email or call your Congressman and
Senators immediately and ask them to help stop what’s happening at ICE,
we desperately need your help.”

Of course, the DREAM Act and so-called Comprehensive Immigration
Reform (amnesty) have been defeated many times in Congress, due to
public outrage.

However, as Obama’s poll numbers continue to slip, he has apparently once
again, decided to bypass Congress this time in his pursuit of Latino votes.

According to sources who watch the inner
workings of the federal government, a
smack-down of Barack Obama by the U.S.
Supreme Court may be inevitable.

Ever since Obama assumed the office of
President, critics have hammered him on a
number of Constitutional issues. Critics have
complained that much if not all of Obama’s
major initiatives run headlong into
Constitutional roadblocks on the power of the
federal government.

Obama certainly did not help himself in the
eyes of the Court when he used the venue of
the State of the Union address early in the
year to publicly flog the Court over its ruling
that the First Amendment grants the right to
various organizations to run political ads
during the time of an election.

The tongue-lashing clearly did not sit well
with the Court, as demonstrated by Justice
Sam Alito, who publicly shook his head and
stated under his breath, ‘That’s not true,’
when Obama told a flat-out lie concerning
the Court’s ruling.

As it has turned out, this was a watershed
moment in the relationship between the
executive and the judicial branches of the
federal government. Obama publicly
declared war on the court, even as he
blatantly continued to propose legislation
that flies in the face of every known
Constitutional principle upon which this
nation has stood for over 200 years.

Obama has even identified Chief Justice
John Roberts as his number one enemy,
that is, apart from Fox News and Rush
Limbaugh. And it is no accident that the
one swing-vote on the court, Justice
Anthony Kennedy, stated recently that
he has no intention of retiring until ‘Obama is
gone.’

Apparently, the Court has had enough.
The Roberts Court has signaled, in a very
subtle manner, of course, that it intends to
address the issues about which Obama critics
have been screaming to high heaven. A
ruling against Obama on any one of these
important issues could potentially cripple the
Administration.
Such a thing would be long overdue.

First, there is ObamaCare, which violates the
Constitutional principle barring the federal
government from forcing citizens to
purchase something. And no, this is not the
same thing as states requiring drivers to
purchase car insurance, as some of the
intellectually-impaired claim. The
Constitution limits FEDERAL government, not
state governments, from such things, and
further, not everyone has to drive, and thus,
a citizen could opt not to purchase car
insurance by simply deciding not to drive a
vehicle. In the ObamaCare world, however,
no citizen can ‘opt out.’

Second, sources state that the Roberts court
has quietly accepted information concerning
discrepancies in Obama’s history that raise
serious questions about his eligibility for the
office of President. The charge goes far
beyond the birth certificate issue. This
information involves possible fraudulent use
of a Social Security number in Connecticut ,
while Obama was a high school student in
Hawaii. And that is only the tip of the
iceberg.

Third, several cases involving possible
criminal activity, conflicts of interest, and
pay-for-play cronyism could potentially land
many Administration officials, if not the
President himself, in hot water with the
Court. Frankly, in the years this writer has
observed politics, nothing comes close to
comparing with the rampant corruption of
this Administration, not even during the
Nixon years. Nixon and the Watergate
conspirators look like choirboys compared
to the jokers that populate this
Administration.

Fourth, the Court will eventually be forced to
rule on the dreadful decision of the Obama
DOJ to sue the state of Arizona . That, too,
could send the Obama doctrine of open
borders to an early grave, given that the
Administration refuses to enforce federal
law on illegal aliens.
And finally, the biggie that could potentially
send the entire house of cards tumbling in a
free-fall is the latest revelation concerning
the Obama-Holder Department of Justice and
its refusal to pursue the New Black Panther
Party. The group is caught on tape
committing felonies by atempting to
intimidate Caucasian voters into staying away
from the polls.

A whistle-blower who resigned from the DOJ
is now charging Holder with the deliberate
refusal to pursue cases against Blacks,
particularly those who are involved in radical
hate-groups, such as the New Black Panthers,
who have been caught on tape calling for the
murder of white people and their babies.

This one is a biggie that could send the entire
Administration crumbling–that is, if the
Justices have the guts to draw a line in the
sand at the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I see that the welfare issue is getting attention. I see people down here in Lousiana day in and day out, buying with that welfare debit card ( we don’t want to hurt any layabouts feelings) and then take the 200 $ of food ( steaks etc.) out to a brand new caddy and drive away. I followed some one day, and all went to the projects where they pay for nothing, except, of course, drugs and guns..oh, and loud radios so we can all enjoy that nasty rapcrap they call music. We have to cut back on welfare, and if the pc police can follow our movements, then surely some can follow these numbnuts and capture the coruption. I believe everyone needs to pay some amount of income tax. Therefore they would be forced to recognize that the money coming from the Federal Government is not free. Should they want more services then they would be required to pay more taxes. Now the way it is the individuals not paying taxes will always vote for any politician who offers another benefit program to the so called poor class. I want to see leadership in Washington. I would like to see our people in Washington start using common sense as a part of their decision making process. Taxes have been misplaced by Washington in it’s authorization of more and more Corporate regulations that make no sense but send Manufacturers running for better options in all operation of running a business and making a sound return on their risk/investments.
Regulations that effect the success and failure here in America, but have no bearing on manufacturing elsewhere in the World. When we ship manufacturing off shore, we lose the corporate taxes, reduced property taxes (property value), income taxes and sales taxes (generally found in a working and buying environment)!!
Free trade that has become a buzz word(s) in today’s economic environment….is lost tax revenue stream from years gone by since 1972. Import taxes were used to protect our various Industries, from leather to cotton, and from steel to glass were given a level consumer market selling field from foreign nations…like Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and China! Products that could/would be manufactured outside the USA at a tenth (10th.) of the cost here in America needed import taxes (duties) to protect unfair consumer deals. You know, like the junk we now can buy today and trash tomorrow…that cost us higher in sales taxes and other taxes lost at import ports around America!
One way or the other the consumer will pay…but before the Buzzing about Free Trade took place and EPA Regulations from Washington was enforced by the very Agency making the regulations…Americans were working!!
So replacing most everyone in Congress/Senate currently holding positions for the sake of employment, because they can’t find suitable employment elsewhere in the labor market should be our number one priority! They have become the DMV of what can go wrong with employees that can’t be fired!! Congress and Senate don’t have UNION Protection so they depend on one another to save their A$$ES/Jobs!!

Yes, we need to impose a federal sales tax so the more you spend, the more you pay into the tax rolls. Fire all the IRS workers! I am a widow on SS, I work two jobs, drive a 10 year old vehicle, do not have TV, eat what I can afford. I do own my own home, thanks to my husband’s life insurance. I pay property tax, sales tax, gas tax, income tax, medicare tax, and whatever other taxes our city, county, state and federal governmet can dream up! I have medical insurance through one of my jobs.
I see young and middle aged people getting welfare, food stamps,commodities section 8 housing, medical benefits etc. These are people healthy enough to sit in the bars and casinos, buy lottery tickets, etc. but they don’t have enough pride to work and pay their own way. They live with their mates without benefit of marriage, because that would make them ineligible for the government handouts. The more children they have, the more benefits they receive.
I also see old people working at low paying jobs, paying their own expenses with the help of the Social Security program which they paid for! These are the people I can respect!
Cut the welfare to the lazy, the illegals and the foreign governments. Cut benefits to the retired Congress, the trips for our white house residents, their families and friends! I would like week off work just to rest up! I do not expect the taxpayers to pay my way to foreign countries!
Our entire federal government needs to cut down on expenses not raise our income and other taxes and leave the working citizens in the lurch in their old age!
