Osama Bin Laden is dead. Justice has prevailed. I can rejoice in that. Even still, his death can never bring back the thousands who died on 9/11.

I admit, I don’t spend a lot of time paying close attention to the details of politics, military strategy, and war. My daily life is consumed with caring for and home educating my 6 children. And, while I do understand the significance of this monumental event, I want to point out something a bit less significant.

I was watching Donald Trump’s reality show, The Celebrity Apprentice, when an announcement scrolled across the bottom of the screen. It was alerting us that the President was about to make a statement to the nation. We were nearing the end of the weekly boardroom segment, where Mr. Trump must fire one of the celebrities, when the show was preempted. There were less than 5 climactic minutes remaining, yet someone found in necessary to interrupt the programming.

Now, if the President himself had immediately interrupted to deliver the announcement, it might have made some sense. Instead, the analysts and news broadcasters were simply filling airtime while we waited for President Obama to make his grand entrance. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I finally went to bed. My husband tells me it was at least 20 – 30 more minutes before the President spoke.

Was that really necessary? Here’s my theory. Could it be possible that President Obama was trying to get back at The Donald? A bit trivial, perhaps? Maybe. After all, I was one of those Americans that Obama referred to when, after releasing his birth certificate, he told reporters, “We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We’ve got better stuff to do.” To use one of his words, I may be “silly” for thinking this, but perhaps he was a bit silly himself. At least I can thank Google for letting me know who was fired.

To further make my case, watch this YouTube video of Obama zinging Trump at the annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner…
