I DON'T CARE FOR BILL OREILLY ANY MORE, HE IS TO FAR UP OBUMMERS BUTT, HOW DO YOU THINK HE GOT A INTERVIEW WITH OBUMMER HE KISSED BUTT.I BELIEVE HE HANGS OUT WITH THE RACE CARD PLAYER GERALDO TO MUCH!!! I'M VERY SAD TO SEE GLENN BECK GO OFF OF FOX NEWS ,A REAL AMERICAN WHO CARES ABOUT AMERICA AND WE THE PEOPLE, HE AND HANNITY CARE , BILL SHOULD GO BACK TO ABC WHERE HE CAME FROM WITH ALL THE LIBS, HE SURE TOOK ME FOR A FOOL, NO MORE!!!!!!!!!

    • iitywybad

If you don't trust O'Reilly because he hangs out with Geraldo, why do you trust Glenn Beck?? Beck and O'Reilly are joined at the hip – they tour together all over the country! Beck appears with O'Reilly every week and clearly adores him.

I am in 100% agreement with the pastor. God as an eternal punisher defies the notion of a merciful god and the punishment of death and the grave as opposed to eternal life is punishment enough!

      • Georgia

God's punishment is an eternal principle…..the punishment does not last beyond the satisfaction that justice demands! Justice and Mercy are two principles that need to be understood as well as the atonement of Christ! The atonement of Christ provides for all who accept Him and His saving sacrifice for our sins, and who repent of their sins will not have to suffer for their own sins as justice otherwise requires. Repentance is the key word here! There is no free ticket to forgiveness….repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ's sacrifice is required! Hence there are some who are beyond repentance (very few actually) but I believe Hitler and his kind are among those who are beyond repentance and will face the demands of justice and will find no mercy because of their horrific crimes!!

For those who do not repent of lesser sins, it is my understanding they will suffer for their own sins until justice is satisfied and then the arms of mercy will have claim on them!

        • paperpushermj

Don’t you need the person or persons you have wronged to sign off on your repentance. Which as I understand it explains why there is no repentance for Murder.

          • randell

The only sin, according to the Word of God, that cannot be forgiven is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Nowhere does it say a murderer cannot repent. That doensn’t mean, obviously, we start murdering people knowing we will still suffer consequences (up to and including the death penalty for yourself) here on earth. I would also say repentence only occurs between anyone person and God because what if that person does not choose to “sign off” then your fate rests in the hands of another sinner making him equal with God- and that’s blasphemy! But restitution to another should be made if possible.

          • paperpushermj

For Gods Sake I”M a Golden Retriever What do I know of such things. But that just means I can learn something new. So if I’m a dry nosed human and I Murder lots of other humans because I like to and never caught. As I stand before God …..What happens?
P.S. Some friends want to know about Dogs in Heaven?

          • randell

I only tried to reply in a friendly discussional (if that’s not a word, it is now) way. Sounds like you took offense, however. If you aren’t serious and sincere about the matter why did you comment, here??? it’s a waste of time.

      • DWC

you can believe anything you like, however the Bible and Christ are both clear about Hell. It is real, it was created for the Devil and his demons and those who choose not to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior will be "cast into the lake of fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth". If everyone will go to Heaven regardless of how wicked they were on Earth, Christ's sacrifice on the cross would be of no meaning. You just can't go through the Bible and "cherry-pick" the things you like and disregard the rest.

      • http://yahoo sharon

Glen Beck is the only one who really loves America, I do trust Beck, he is the only one who told us the truth and opened our eyes to what Obama and his band of socialists, communists, and nutjob dangerous radical were even up to. I love Glenn Beck and I thank him for being the brave man that he is, and from how it appears one of the very few who are in America.

    • PrincessPhilly

I completely agree with you. Bill O’Reilly does nothing but defend Obama. I am starting to not like FoxNews any more. I guess Obama got to them so now they are sucking up to him like the rest of all the media.

  • Marilyn Oleson

If there is no hell, there was no reason for God to send His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for the sins of man. Scripture does not lie. Read it!!!!

    • Mountain Man

      Marilyn,

Very good point indeed. Why would Jesus die on the cross for our sins? And if we truly accept him, we sinners have a chance before God. This guy is a preacher?? He needs to review his bible a few times. Strange.

      • John

Who is there in the world that would send His only Son to die for us? Who is God that He should be mindful of us? There is NO loving father on earth that would send his only son to die but God loved us so much He sacrificed His Son that we may live!!!

  • Morris G. Monkus

Sounds as if the preacher needs to get him a Bible, or if he has one, read it, and if he reads it, believe what it says.

  • MSGran

What Bible does this guy read? Must be the Satanic one! He can't pick and choose which scripture to believe. Either you believe EVERY WORD OF THE BIBLE, or you don't. There is no in-between!

  • Rian

The pastor is 100 % right while O Riley appears clearly a pretentious down right hypocrite.

There is no such thing as a born sinner ,which is pure rubbish. There is no hell ,either. Humans were born and died long before 2000 years . This two fear instilling mambo jumbo was created by the cunning leaders of antiquity to build up their foot soldiers ,exercise control :mind and physical. Humans have leadership and will use it cunningly to manipulate the less intelligent.

    • DWC

Well Rian…some day you will know the truth and will have to face the results of your choices here on Earth. God made himself known from the beginning of Creation. Everything God does he does it on His own terms and His own time table. We are part of His Creation, we cannot judge Him or hold Him accountable. The unforgivable sin is the sin of unbelief. It is our nature to sin…how else do you account for laws, police departments and the military. It's to try to keep humans from devouring each other

    • http://brave Vlad

Rian, where did you learn this nonsense?

    • LibsRHaters

Rian, you appear vastly less intelligent. It's sad that you are a Truth Hater. Rian doesn't suffice for a name so far for you… you are a Hater! You are receiving a strong dillusion so as not to be able to believe. We should all pray for you.

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

We are in this state because we are born sinners due to Adam’s sin (Romans 5:12) and we cannot change this condition. This is our spiritual DNA.

All, except Adam and Eve, are born DEAD in sin, unable to do good before God. This "good" is defined by God as all actions done to the honor and glory of God.

We, as humans, are born of corrupt stock. Adam brought onto the human race a curse. It is to be slaves to sin as Israel were slaves to Egypt as a type of that bondage to sin.

Your rejection of "mind control" is actually succumming to the Devil's mind control. This isn't manipulation, but Truth.

    • John

The fool says in his heart there is no God. Do not fear, one day you will have your answer, the answer of the ages by the Son of God!!!!

    • KenJack

Rian, several things: If you are going to come across as a real 'thinker', then you need to do some work on your syntax, spelling, and other essential and basic qualities that real thinkers possess. Next, you must believe in your heart that you are god, because you make broad statements relative to the afterlife that only a god would know. What does "this two fear instilling mumbo jumbo was created by the cunning leaders of antiquity" mean? I think that perhaps you are the unfortunate victim of your own statement ie "the less intelligent". There is a God. The great I AM. You are nowhere close to knowing anything about heaven or hell, but you need to get right with Him, or find out the hard way.

    • Patricia in NC

We are born into a “sinful world” and at the age of accountability, knowing right from wrong, which can be younger for some, we must make a decision. We must decide to follow after righteousness or unrighteousness. God or Satan! God gives us a “free will” and it is our choice.

I remember school teachers who told us students, I didn’t flunk you. You flunked yourselves by making a conscience choice to not study or do the work I gave you. Now, you must pay the consequences of your actions. You fail!

I surely pray you will make the right decision before it is everlastingly too late. As awful as Hitler was, if he had earnestly called out to God at the last minute and asked forgiveness and believed in Him, he would have been saved. If not, he doomed himself to the fires of Hell. 7 times hotter than even the hottest forrest fire on earth. Think about it. Is the way you believe worth taking the chance? Or would you think believing the Bible Truth a better alternative? Your choice.

  • TED

Orielly thinks anyone that thinks obummer is a muslim is just nuts. Guess he hasn't read the book, Dreams from my father, supposedly written by obummer that, to paraphrase, says that if things turn bad he (obummer) would stand with the muslims!

I'm an ordained minister in the Western Orhodox Pedestrian Church and I can state unequivocally that if you are a nice looking woman, God wants you save the world from utter destruction by your seducing me immediately. Extra points if you look a lot like Salma Hayek or Halle Berry!!! Get in line NOW. I'll await your replies.

    • Patricia in NC

You sir, are no minister. A true minister of the Gospel would never even joke about what you have posted. I suggest Salvation for yourself. O, and some mental health help also.

  • http://Conservativebyte.com JoEllen

Hell wasn't made for mankind. God gave every a person a choice. You can choose Heaven or Hell. Hell was made for the devil and his angels. Those who don't believe in Hell, surely don't believe in Heaven either. There's only one way to escape Hell and that is John 3:16. Repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ as your savior.

  • ruth

So where does this dum think Jesus went the three days he was dead… The Bible says he went into hell to preach to the spirits there so they could be judged in the judgment… And where does the dum think these dead men in hell came from..Mars????

I am amazed at those who blame god for what satan does.. He put men in hell… not to mention the fact hell was created for satan and his angels.. These angels include those who follow him in his broad way of MAtthew 7…I think we were all destined for hell till Jesus opened the way back to God…Narrow way leads to God and life.. Broad way leads to hell and satan…Islam certaily looks like the broad way..It is a lie from beginning to ending…

Some people do not beleive the bible.. They believe their own opinions, not the words of God..

  • jerry short

Just because a person does not believe in hell, dosen't mean he will not end up there. The Lord Jesus warned of hell more than anyone else in the Bible. The bottom line is, it's Heaven or Hell, and it's all based on what you do with the man Christ Jesus!

  • Mil Chap

Consider the source: Time magazine! The leftest liberals who publish, edit, and write for Time have nothing better to do than search out some "preacher" who has an alternative position on the tenets of heaven and hell.

How about having them interview Josh McDowell as a followup?

  • Bealman

It is always interesting to watch intellectual idiots discuss / argue over subject's they know nothing about. One comment (Jesus to Judas) means, per O'Riley, if you "betray" someone and do not ask forgiveness, then "your done", i.e., definitely going to hell! But we must leave judgement to God.. right!

It's also a shame that these same idiots have a national, even international pulpit to spread they ignorance.

When we can answer one single question correctly, then we are on the way to Truth, i.e., the Reality of the Kingdon vs. World.

"What was the SIN that Adam brought into the world?" If you don't know the answer, can't find the answer, then you are Dead, living in the realm of Death, and a Child of Satan, and Satan is your God. I'm sorry, but that is supported throughout the entire book, if you know the answer to my question. varve35654@mypacks.net.

  • T-Partier

Bill's church is the Catholic Church and we don't consider them Christians, am I right, everyone?

    • Patricia in NC

yes you are. Only if, at some time, they repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Mary had nothing to do with anything except to bear the Son of God and raise him until he was ready to go out in ministry. I can see why she is special and is revered so, but, there is no reason to pray to her. We can go straight to the Heavenly Father. No inbetween person is needed.

      • Lenore Burns

Patricia, we DO NOT “pray to Mary for any other reason than to pray for us!! To embolden us in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, sent by the Heavenly Father in Heaven, who created this earth and everything in it. That includes you and me. We pray for her for guidence in our daily faith, to ask her to pray for a deeper love of Jesus Christ in our hearts daily. We pray to her to help us in our daily struggles and tempations that will harm our faith. By asking for Her to pray for us, we know we will become stronger against the ravenges of Satan all around us daily!
If our Heavenly Father chose her above ALL Women , then WHO would doubt the choice of God The Father??
Father, Son and Holy Spirit!! The Holy Spirit appeared to Mary through the Angel Gabriel – you know, the one who always brings “Good Tidings??” because The Father selected her.
I am blessed to know her and asked her daily to pray for me!

        • Patricia in NC

Thank you, Lenore, for sharing what is in your heart. I respect your feelings, but, how can you pray to someone who is no longer alive? How can she be praying for you? The only One who can hear our heartfelt prayers is Jesus, God the Father. No one can answer those prayers but Him.

I guess I don’t understand how all of this actually started. Why do you have to “confess” to a man. My Bible says, to “call no man father”, except Father God. He is the only one who can forgive our sins and wash us clean.

At any rate, we can pray for each other and our families. We need all of the prayer we can get in these “last days” as our wonderful Nation is being washed down the drain.
May He bless you and yours abundantly and richly,
          Patricia in NC

    • Stephen

I agree that the cat-aholic church is not Christian. But the guy he was talking to knows nothing about Christianity either.

  • KenJack

What I find most surprising is that O'Reilly let anyone talk long enough to get their point across without being interrupted. Also, Bill's attempts to come off as 'fair and balanced' often appear to be nothing more than foolish pandering in an attempt to cover his lack of an incisive arguement to make in the debate.

  • Kathleen

The cult-religion of 7th Day Adventists do not believe in hell. They use the reasoning that no loving god would punish people eternally. Bible verses about God, God's Justice, and hell. http://www.allaboutworldview.org/does-hell-exist….

    • Stephen

Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe there is a hell either.

      good for you Ed.

  • Bill Camota

This Pastor-Counselor is interpreting the true Bible incorrectly. I hope that he is not doing this intentionally to generate his own group into a wrong path where Jesus said, “I never knew you”. My advice to him is to repent and be born-again putting his trust to the only Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I will pray for him.

    • http://brave Vlad

We really have strange of Ph D.'s Opinion is religion, not from God. The faith is the key, the faith in Word of God. The hell is separation from God and was created not for man but Satan, his demons and fallen angels. Who do not receive pardon will go there.

  • Roger W Norris

Saw the video-and they were hardly “slugging it out.” It was a moderate and informed discussion. Haven’t seen too many in these comments.
Read the Time article. Wasn’t so much about hell as it was about Rev. Bell. But the whole thing started when someone said that Gandhi was in hell. Not yet!
The hope of the Christian, as shown in I Corinthians, is the resurrection of the dead. If there is no resurrection, “then those who have fallen asleep have perished”(verse 18.) But if they’re presently in heaven, then they’re in better shape.
As it says in Romans, “the wages of sin is DEATH” (not eternal life in hell fire), but on the other hand, “the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE” (something God has to give you because you don’t have an immrtal soul.) The everlasting punishment is ETERNAL DEATH, from which there is no resurrection.
The best analogy I’e heard is that Hell is a kind of toxic waste dmp. You put things there you can’t have in heaven. So Hitler will be there, Gandhi won’t. And don’t forget purgatory. It’s one of the few things the Catholic Church added that makes sense.

    • paperpushermj

Purgatory was created for used car salesmen

  • paperpushermj

I saw the piece with O’Reilly and have to say the Pastor did not make the sale that in his opinion there was No Hell. He I think was making the point that God was to good to be judgmental and that Punishment did not fit the pastor vision of God. I on the other hand demand God Judge. The very thought that upon death Hitler and Mother Teresa
Share the same fate bothers me.

  • randell

This is one example of a humanistic, psychologist nutbag calling himeslf a Christian and a pastor. He only expressed his own believes and bad enough he didn’t back it up with the finality of the One who has the Last Word on it all and that is God’s Word. Sadly, O’reilly doesn’t have much to back up what he said neither. He gave his own Catholic beliefs but hardly if at all exegeted the Scripture.

    • Patricia in NC

You know, Randell, you are right. The “pastor”, and I say that loosely, never offered one scripture to offer up proof that there is no place such as Hell. Bill, offered no scripture in rebuttal. He should have done his homework better.

      • http://yahoo sharon

Frankly I don’t see why it matters who thinks what, is it going to change anything anyway. We have much more important things to be thinking about, then weather there is a hell or not. Were already living in one anyway, look at the mess our country is in and that parasite in the whitehouse who is doing it all.

  • http://yahoo sharon

I watch Mike Huckabee and I know he does care about America, he see all sides of the issues and I can tell you he does not like Obama or agree with Obama at all. He just says keep your enemies close you learn much more that way.

  • Peter Delevoryas

Jesus *always* spoke in parables. Not literal fire.

Eternal is not a Hebrew or Greek word. It is Latin. Doesn’t occur in original scripture.
All ‘eternal’ is mis-translated, should be ‘Age of the Age’.
That’s why Handel’s Messiah is sung incorrectly ‘forever and ever’.
No such thing as a plurality of ‘forevers’.

The fire that wasn’t ever put out and the worms was the garbage dump in the valley of Hinnom.
    Another parable.

There are *no* writings by Paul the Apostle mentioning a fiery place forever.
Either it didn’t exist or he must have thought it wasn’t very important. Go figure.

Jesus doesn’t reign ‘forever’. He delivers *everything* up to the Father.

    I’d say 99% of church-goers are brainwashed.

Seems to me that just about everyone is missing the truth. Salvation is not by good works. Many good people, by the world’s standards, will go to hell. God does not send them there. They send themselves by chosing to ignore the way to salvation made by God. Adam’s sin brought a sin nature to all mankind and it separates everyone from God. Only Jesus was born without that sin nature in His spirit because God is His Father, not an earthly man. Nevertheless, His soul (mind, emotions, will and personality) was fully human and experienced the same temptations that all of us experience. Still He chose never to sin, so He had innocent blood which He gladly shed to pay for your sin and mine. If, by faith, we believe God’s word and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we will be saved because at that point God puts His own incorruptible Spirit in us. It is the same Spirit that Jesus had and God is then our Father. The old person with the sin nature dies and we become a new creature in Christ. We cannot save ourselves by works or any other way because no one other other than Jesus has innocent blood to pay our debt for sin. That is why there are not many way to God — only one Savior made the way.
Read and do Romans 3:23; Romans 3:26; Romans 10:9

Corrections to earlier comment at 11:16 am:
Romans 6:23 NOT Romans 3:26 (Last line)
    “choosing” NOT “chosing” (Line 3)
Delete one “other” (Four lines up from the bottom)
Insert “the old corrupted spirit” AFTER “The old person with the sin nature” (Six lines up from the bottom)

Hell is where the “I am” meets up with the “I could have been, should have been, and would have been had I learned obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Prior to the advent of Jesus Christ, the law of sacrifice was practiced since the time of Adam, as we can read in Genesis. The “law of sacrifice” was the schoolmaster to bring the people to a knowledge of a future great sacrifice that would redeem them from the grave! The law of the Old Testament could not redeem mankind! The law of the gospel introduced by Jesus Christ, provided an opportunity for all who desired to follow Christ’s teachings and accept His ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world, thereby through repentance, bringing about the resurrection of all mankind. Christ’s sacrifice also provided an opportunity to also be redeemed from the spiritual death. As we follow His teachings; have faith in His redeeming sacrifice; repent of our sins; and are baptized and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the door is opened to us to return to His presence and the presence of His Father, and our Father!!
