Pat said he doesn’t think talk radio will continue after 2011. “Yeah, I mean, the way it’s going. It doesn’t look like it to me. I don’t know how we do. How do we survive the year? You’ve already got Clyburn calling for the Fairness Doctrine, you’ve already got Al Sharpton who started last year and wants to call Rush before some Senate committee hearing,” Pat said. “I mean, they are using a situation that has absolutely nothing to do with us, without a shred of evidence that he ever listened to anybody on the right, or the left.”
Glenn added that the slow regulation of the media is the textbook definition of progressivism. “It is bit by bit, step by step, it is progress,” he said.
When the Fairness Doctrine was in place decades ago, it nearly killed talk radio. “When the Fairness Doctrine was in force in, what, the Eighties, the way they did it was you’d have a conservative in the morning, then you’d have a liberal in the midday. Then in the afternoon there’s a conservative. Then at night there’s a liberal. And it kind of went like that on just about every station. And so you never knew what you were going to get when you tuned in unless you knew the schedule really well,” Pat said.Continue reading on www.glennbeck.com
